Just like all shady businesses, they try to look great at first. But eventually, their products and services start to deteriorate in quality. MEGA is no exception. At first, it had fast loading. Its users wouldn't have their accounts deleted like crazy. Now, that's no longer the case. Their accounts get unreasonably deleted, the webpage loading has started to lag, and customer support service became unhelpful. I would warn people to avoid using MEGA like the plague now. You're better off using torrents and torrent websites at this point.

I accidentally deleted an important folder while I was still a free user (even from the Rubbish Bin). When I contacted MEGA support, they replied within 24 hours and explained that I could try the Rewind feature, which is available for paid users. I upgraded my account and tried, but unfortunately, I couldn’t restore it since the folder had been deleted shortly after uploading (about half an hour later).
I reached out to support again, and even though recovery wasn’t guaranteed, they went the extra mile and restored my folder from their end. I’m really grateful for their quick response and helpful assistance. Excellent support!

They just deleted all my files that I’d been collecting for years, including all my photo albums, simply because I didn’t upgrade to a pro plan. Take my advice: you’re better off using Google Drive than dealing with this scam.

The costumer support desk responded at lightening speed, and was not only very helpful, but also considerate and kind. Additionally, the generous free storage space and encrypted transfer and file storage settings are a relief. An absolute go to when it comes to cloud storage!

Mega app storage feels like a complete scam. At first, they offer free storage to gain people’s trust. Once users upload important files and data, they suddenly pressure them to buy a paid plan if they want to keep using the storage. The worst part is that they even delete all files from the free storage, leaving users with no choice but to pay.

I've been using MEGA since 2016, and I’ve had nothing but good experiences with it. The service is solid, fast, and secure – I’ve never had any issues with syncing or storing my files.
Recently, though, I ran into a weird problem where I couldn’t log into my MEGA account. After trying everything I could think of, I reached out to their support team, and I’m honestly so glad I did. They were super helpful and really went the extra mile to figure out what was going on.
Turns out, the issue was with my ISP. They’d changed some settings and put me behind NAT, which took away my public IP address without telling me. My ISP denied it at first, but with MEGA’s help, we were able to track it down. After a few days of troubleshooting, I finally got my ISP to fix the issue and give me my public IP back. I was back in my account!
Shoutout to MEGA for their amazing support. They made what could’ve been a huge headache way easier to deal with. I’ve always trusted them with my files, but after this experience, I’m even more impressed with how they handle things.

MEGA offers exceptional functionality. You can selectively sync or back up folders without moving them to a central location, which is a significant advantage for me. Additionally, you can sync or back up files from external drives, not just those installed on your computer.
However, I encounter challenges when I change my folder organization strategy, leading to a large number of file relocations or moves. The MEGA servers struggle with handling such a high volume of file moves, resulting in temporary lockouts for one or two days until the servers can process the queued changes. This indicates to me an issue with the underlying architecture.
As an IT professional, I understand that a large number of changes can cause system slowdowns. Nevertheless, if you need to access a file on the service, you’ll be unable to do so until your account is “unlocked.”
The customer service is consistently excellent and professional. I appreciate the technical challenges associated with use cases like the one I described; however, not being to access my files for days is disconcerting.
UPDATE: After 3 days of not being able to get into my account, the problems finally cleared. I felt I could not continue with MEGA due to lack of confidence and terminated the service.

I lost valuable memories from photos that were deleted by this service.
While I understand the rationale behind removing old free tier items, the time period was way too little and it's been made difficult to retrieve the data.
If you didn't want to provide people with a free tier storage then you perhaps should not have offered it in the first place.
I am now using a paid cloud storage but due to this reason I will never consider this company as an option.
