Seriously Questioned...
I took this platform to be legit....at start. That was 2021. Well currently it spams my inbox DAILY with nonsense, despite that my settings are for WEEKLY. Don't know who's running the show there. But I'm about to cancel/unsubscribe because of the nonsense. WEEKLY means WEEKLY. NOT 500 spam messages killing my inbox!
This site is wonderful.
This site is wonderful. I have nothing but great things to say about it; upon registering a account I've never felt more informed. I personally recommend the site to anyone's who's looking for an active forum of OPEN MINDED (which isn't abundant now n' days) users. I've learnt how to dress bisexually from one of this sites articles'. I've never felt more empowered.
medium.com is a stupid platform
medium.com is a stupid platform
deleted my account without notifying me via email
all my effort were destroyed within a second. they didn't give any warning or notice instead they suspend the account. they are merciless. They don't deserve this, that someone should have business steps with them.
The best knowledge sharing platform…
The best knowledge sharing platform ever.
Like why are you guys rating this website low.
This is literally the best blogging platform in the world with so much knowledge being shared for almost free – like $5 per month should not hold you back from getting those priceless infos.
I'd rate medium 5/5 everytime!
I've learnt so much from the platform.
Completely biased
Completely biased, both in terms of algorithms and in terms of customer engagement.
This site promotes sexist stories and will block users for pointing out the sexism.
I love the idea but its very restrictive
Bias Algorithms
The platform, just like other American platforms, manipulates algorithms to promote only the topics that the government wants to push forward and nothing else. If you write something deemed undesirable by those in power, the article will have zero views, zero reads, zero nothing.
I sent an email asking their support about how their algorithms work, no response. It is super clear now. I'm moving to a different platform where free speech exists.
I truly don't understand the negativity!
After reading so many bad reviews of Medium, I really feel I have to disagree. I've read plenty of articles here, on a few different topics. I have found them all to be good quality and well written.
Some I categorically disagree with, but I have never viewed a contributor as being idiotic or naive, or displaying any overt bias. Politically, I'm hard left (not FAR left, I'm unreservedly democratic), so would my own bias colour how I see a site that it is being accused of being overly liberal or overly 'woke'?
Very possibly, but I can't recall thinking that I was seeing way too much or too extreme a bias. My experience from other media is that those who decry someone being 'too woke' are usually offended by the smallest whiff of it.
I've written a couple of articles for it myself. Coming back to membership, I'm going to see if I can build my profile more. We'll see.
MEDIUM.COM uses unethical practices to claim cancelled subscriptions.…
This company MEDIUM.COM uses unethical practices to claim subscriptions via paypal. They don't show up on paypal in the list of subscriptions because they characterize it as a pre-approved automatic payment. When you cancel , it just pops up again a year later… 50 euros.
Great for writers, but too far-left extremist
Medium was a great experience for me as a writer. It has a huge number of writers and editors ranging from best-selling and celebrity to rank beginners. For those who want to get serious about writing, there are plenty of members offering incredibly valuable advice. I disagree with some of the bad reviews here; I can't speak to the tech & payment problems, but Medium has a lot going for it. As a platform it's easy to use with high domain ranking. You'll get better exposure here than on most other platforms.
The platform's content contains a lot of crap but it also hosts sterling writers and publications like The Atlantic and the NY Times. Read the content you're interested in and the algorithms will catch on.
Unfortunately, I've reduced my rating because, as others have noted here, Medium is a hotbed of far-left SJW extremism and in the past year appears to have affected the staff. People DO get banned for having unwoke opinions. I'm one of them. They also take down stories they don't like.
They suspended two of my articles and the last one which criticized the Holy Sacred Transfolk. Friends still on the platform tell me Medium is cracking down on ANY criticism of the trans movement and one writer actually had the balls to write about how they threatened to take him down if he criticized transwomen again. DO. NOT. CRITICIZE. THE. TRANS. COMMUNITY. EVER. on Medium. They are, like Caesar's wife, beyond reproach.
The platform turns a blind eye to blatant man-hating feminists and white-hating black bigots. However, they've also got some really terrific black and feminist writers too, and credible, qualified people writing about fascinating subjects in their wheelhouse. For the rest, you can mute or block anyone you don't like.
If you don't upset the snowflakes, Medium's great for writers. For all my harsh words I learned so, so much. I will always be grateful to them for the opportunity of blogging there for a few years. I wish they'd just tone down the SJW extremism.
So I republished the 'verboten' stories elsewhere and no heads exploded :)
I love medium so much!
I love medium so much!. It helps me to train my attitude on reading article / book.
Woke management with fake liberal exterior
An absolutely abysmal platform run by incompetents .
The site runs in a draconian manner . I heavily criticised a writer who is famous for his constant negative anti Western writings bans and was promptly banned . I had used medium to show case poetry principally.
This brittle platform could not handle criticism of a fellow writer . An immediate blanket ban. No explanations ever given since .
This site is “woke” to the worst degree
Many scam articles
I accidentally stumbled upon an article by Salete Cravo claiming to be a selfmade millionaire and making ridiculous claims about the amount of money you can make using certain sites. The examples and 'evidence' she provides can easily be checked and turned out to be completely false which makes the article a total scam with its only purpose to lure people into clicking on dubious links. Having only 18 Twitter followers is a bit low for a self made millionaire, don't you think?
Apparently she has more of those 'articles' on this site. If medium.com had a bit of self respect they should ban 'writers' like that.
Misandristic Website That Does Not Respect Online Anonymity with Echo Chamber Censorship
This is where incels trash talk about males online while having their stupid egos stroked through censorship that keep them in comfort bubbles, also known as echo chambers. Online anonymity is not respected here considering privacy-invasive email providers are required for registering accounts. All this website represents is a paywall scam with articles written by misandrists, incels, feminazis, virtue signallers, and the thought police through censorship while being owned by people who do not respect online anonymity because they stalk others for predatory profit rather than politely mind their own business.
Full of discusting articles written by sexist, narcissistic women. Misandry, dangerous generalisations mixed in with the odd self-centered pri## telling you that you're not good in relationships.
Self reightous, pompous sh## stains.

A lot of very low-quality content
I’ve been using it for a few months, and have found a lot of the recommended articles are badly written, full of spelling and grammatical errors, often extremely immature in their approach, it’s like it being churned out in a factory by 12-year olds. There is also a lot of ‘click bait’ and articles that are really just barely-disguised advertising for underlying products. I know Medium try to filter out some of this, but my experience is that only about 15% of it is actually readable and worthwhile, and I think all the junk really undermines the really good writers who deserve better company. I think Medium would improve if they can go for quality over quantity. and I’m sick of getting sent links to ridiculous articles with titles like ‘how to know for sure she loves you’….. (version 2 billion and 72)….

There is only black racist that loves to tell the world and well everyone else how bad and worthless we are and that we are nothing but evil but racism goes both way so shut up it's sad that it happend but those that live today didn't do any of that and not everyone thinks and acts like that.

I do not recommend "Medium" which is a writer/article site , not because of the product, but because of the lack of account support. The first year I subscribed, my husband was able to read the many great articles, but I had access. This last year, I subscribed and was able to use it almost 3 months. When I started getting the message that I needed to pay, I sent them emails and proof of my payment for the year. No answer. Repeated emails with proof of purchase have continued, and unfortunatly so did their non response.
Medium.com is getting an undeserved bad rap
This is a great site. I strongly recommend it. It has a diverse set of articles on everything you can think of.
I have learned a lot from this site.
It's only $5 a month (the price of a Starbucks coffee) for God's sake, quit complaining.
So it's a little liberal. Everything nowadays is a little liberal or a little conservative. It's the new norm. Get use to it.
150+ Million users per month means they are doing something right.
Medium.com does not deserve the low rating.
