This device was helpful in allowing my dad to stay in his house, alone, longer. However, even tho the device was hooked to high speed Internet, it didn’t show us his location quickly, in real time.... See more

Medical alert system is fine. The ordering and sales process leaves a lot to be desired. Sales and service obviously do not communicate with each other. Trying to get any answer about something is awful unless you like spending hours on the phone.
The system works and the operators are great. The Medical Alert company and sales on the other hand are awful.

My sister and I live 1800 miles apart. Medic Alert has called me 2 times and each time it was a false alarm on their part. First time: I will say she had just gotten her GPS Watch and it sent out an alert that something was wrong. She pressed the button telling the company to cancel. The alarm would go off 2 or 3 times a week on it's own. She would push the cancel button, sometimes they would talk to her over the watch and ask if she was alright, other times nothing. The second time they called me that something was wrong they asked me if they should send emergency personnel. I told them I was 1800 miles away, but asked them what the GPS watch said. The reply was that the dispatcher did not know! They called back again and said she was at home. I told them to do a wellness check. The next call I got was from the fire department asking where the lock box was for the key. Thank goodness a neighbor was them and went over with a key. She was NOT home. That was the last I heard from them. My 85 year old sister was 15 miles from her house! What use is the GPS watch when they don't follow it! My sister called the company and was met with endless AI , dropped calls, and transfers for 2 days!! She finally talked to a Tech that said the Watch showed the GPS coordinates and correct address of where she was, at a Tai Chi class 15 miles away! The tech also said that the lock box info was also recorded on the call! Why wasn't this information transferred to the Dispatcher???
She finally had a call back but the lady said she was due in an important meeting and would call her back but that the computer did NOT show the address of where she was at in her class. So basically they're saying she is lying or that their own tech is lying. They definitely need better communication. Why didn't they talk to her on her watch!!!! That's why she got it, GPS location and ability to talk to them. They failed miserably on both accounts.09

This company is horrible! After paying them for years they keep ignoring my calls for a refund after my mother-in-law passed away. Every time I call I get the run around and after an hour of them passing me around they tell me they have call me back and then they don't. This has gone for 4 months! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Ah yes, medical alert, the life saver. Our family member, now deceased, used their product for a brief time. The product failed and they shipped a new device. It was not communicated that the old, failed device had to be shipped back. The time frame on this old device not being returned (as well as us not being told to return) was well over 12 months. Before our family member went to hospice, we terminated our service with Medical Alert and shipped back the functional devise, as stated by the representative. The rep did not say they had not received the old device or inquire as to the whereabouts of it. Now, 3 months after our family members passing, we get him with bills for service. $500. After contacting a rep with great difficulty, we agree to pay their lost device fee thinking this was the end. Nope, another bill. $350 for lost fee and $500 for old payment. On top of that, they are open to 8PM MT, Monday through Friday. It's friday 9/19, 8PM EST and they have closed up shop for the night. Pretty sure MT, its 5:55PM.

When I ordered a Smartwatch, I was told it would be 3 to 5 business days to receive it. We ended up receiving it over three weeks later after multiple phone calls trying to determine what the holdup was. It turned out that they were out of stock on the Smartwatch, but didn’t share this information until after a dozen phone calls over three weeks. Since we received the watch, the monitoring service seems good. Hopefully the monitoring makes up for the delay to receive the Smartwatch.

I was out picking raspberries and started to feel weak. Headed back to the house and sat on a bench and.passed out. My son and daughter-in-law called Life Alert. Ambulance came and took me to the hospital.

I am so grateful that I have my Medical Alert system. It has helped me out on a number of occasions to get immediately connected to paramedics. Who know what to do.

Just the fact that it worked as it was supposed to do was a relief. Everyone was polite and knew what to do.

I am posting this on behalf of my mother, who is now incapacitated.
The service has been in place since 2020, but has not been tried until recently.
At the start of a medical episode my mother pushed the button on her wristband. Nothing seemed to happen. After a few minutes, Medical Alert called my sister's phone number, and let her know that the button had been pushed. -we contacted 911 and mom was taken to the hospital.
About 1.5 months later, the whole family was with mom, and after we decided this was important enough to have mom transported to the hospital again... but somebody said, "push the button, and see what happens..." So we did. And waited, and waited, and after a few minutes... we didn't think anything was happening. We picked up the phone's handset, and there was no dial-tone, and nothing. We tried a couple times, but the Medical Alert device was hanging onto the line. We were stuck. I decided to unplug the Medical Alert box, so we could call 911.
While on with 911, my sister got a call from Medical Alert, and we explained the situation.
While the Medical Alert responses in our situations, didn't affect the outcome [medically], it wasn't working the way we thought it should, or expected.
To be fair, we have not been performing the regular/periodic tests... and I would recommend anybody SHOULD be doing there.

It was very efficient and had many employees that took good care of me. They couldn’t do enough. I would recommend them to get Medical Alert.

Two times my medical alert device didn't work. Had to crawl to a phone to get help. But twice I used it and it worked and it was great.
I didn't test it once a month , so I encourage everyone to do that.

As far as the alert it worked fine, however the constant calls for protection coverage was not appreciated, when our mom past we sent the equipment back and called to verify and was told had an outstanding balance of $30.
Stated we paid in full for a full year how is there an outstanding balance? Was told for protection warranty, however I still cannot find anywhere a signed contract foe warranty protection.
Then told 30 days for refund.

The company often calls using different phone numbers and starts by saying, "This is not an emergency," then tries to upsell you. After receiving numerous calls, I stopped answering, worried that I might miss an emergency. To cancel, I let my card expire, only to learn I had to return the equipment. Initially, they sent the equipment return label to the incorrect email address. Once that was fixed, I mailed the equipment back. Weeks later, I received a call stating that the system wasn't working and there was a billing issue, but I had no notice confirming they had received the equipment. Trying to find ways to email this company is buried somewhere, and their chat is useless unless you're looking to buy.

Representatives always keep my immediate family informed of any medical emergency they have had to process. Furthermore, my younger son is often able to find out what happened to me by calling Medical Alert than trying to call the first responders. Many times, they won't give out any information because of HIPA rules.
