⚠️ 🚨 STAY AWAY - These people are professional grifters. Thieves.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.

It is now May 2026. I have been waiting for a refund of £1350 since December 2024 for laser eye surgery that NEVER took place. That is 17 months of them holding MY money for a procedure I did not receive.

At every single level of management, this company is full of grifters. They have blocked me on all channels. Every representative ignores my emails, calls, and messages.

Why are you holding onto my money? You provided no service. It is theft.

Type in "refund" on Trustpilot right now. You will see the same story over and over again. I am just one of many.

Do not walk away. RUN. If you value your money, go elsewhere. These people will steal from you and then block you when you ask for what is yours.

Shame on every single manager here. You know who you are.

Thoroughly recommend

The people are lovely and very attentive. If there has been any questions they have been answered straight away. Any minor problems have been sorted out very quickly. The team is always available via WhatsApp text. The organisation has been seamless. Thank you!

Amazing

I was really nervous about having surgery abroad, but the Medaway team really were great.
Everything was organised really well and ran smoothly, transfers were on time, my surgery was booked for the morning of my arrival and ran on time. I was looked after really well by the nurses, bringing me ice, meals, drinks etc. Constantly making sure I was ok.
The Medaway support was great , any questions I had I could go to them. If you are considering surgery in Turkey, do it. It’s the best thing I have ever done.
Dr Atkin is amazing I am so pleased and don’t even have the final result yet, still swollen!

Overall Experience

The lovely staff treatment, the well spoken English in a foreign country of which I can’t even speak the language, and the excellent handled Aftercare also is what I appreciate greatly I have to say.

A Seamless Experience with Outstanding Support

From the very first consultation to the day-after follow-up, the team at Cosmeticium and Dr. Baris made what could have been an overwhelming experience feel completely seamless and supported.

The care started well before I even arrived at the clinic. Transport between the hotel and the Orion Medical Center was arranged and stress-free, a small touch that made a big difference in setting the tone for the whole experience.

The hair design process was impressively thorough. Dr. Baris took real time to walk through the design, making sure everything was considered and aligned with my goals before a single step of the procedure began. That level of attention and precision gave me a lot of confidence going in.

During the surgery itself, the team went above and beyond to keep me comfortable, a warm blanket, a lovely meal, and consistent check-ins throughout. It's the kind of thoughtfulness you don't always expect from a medical setting, and it genuinely meant a lot.

The care didn't stop there. The follow-up appointment the next day to remove bandages and check in on my recovery was reassuring and professional. It's clear this team thinks about the full journey, not just the procedure itself.

I'm now looking forward to watching the results grow in over the next 12 months. A huge thank you to Dr. Baris and the entire Cosmeticium team for their support, care, and understanding every step of the way. Highly recommend.

I’m so glad I made the decision to…

I’m so glad I made the decision to chose dr taygun, from start to finish even after only being home for a day he’s checked up on me, my experience from start to finish has been so comfortable and they all made me feel relaxed. I had a brest reduction and uplift the results are amazing one week after my operation I’m healing well and already feel good, I will recommend, i bought my sister to be with me and they all looked after her too, thanks to taygun and his team you all give me comfort x

So Glad I Made The Journey

I have been communicating and planning for my hair transplant since Feb 2026. April 2026 I flew to Istanbul to have the procedure done.
The communication before arrival was consistent, from the pick up at the Istanbul airport to the drop off to go home was very well coordinated.

The procedure, was great. Because of our communication before my arrival, I had many of my questions answered. However, There were many opportunities to ask more in person. Procedure was precise. I was given a step by step of how the procedure would work and the flow. I was also told, at anytime if there is pain, to speak up. The medical team were kind, and tasked oriented. I took bathroom and a lunch break as needed. When I returned, everyone picked up where they left off.

Dr Baris and his team were great. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The hotel was very nice and close to the clinic. I came solely for the transplant. I stayed one extra day (my expense) to rest before the travel back to Detroit MI, USA

Awful. Made my nasal breathing worse.

Been nearly two years since my nose op and it is actually worse. I have trouble sniffing, smelling and general breathing is worse, along with sinus issues. I messaged the so called ‘after care team’ a couple of times and they didn’t even acknowledge my message. Do not go here.

Do not go here at all costs big deposit lost

Do not go here at all costs paid a big deposit for 2 different surgeries ghosted me on messages after asking for a partial refund as I couldn’t go through with the surgeries never heard from them again. Don’t waste your time and money

So pleased!

I had a breast augmentation in February 2026 with MedAway in Istanbul Turkey with Dr Taygun. And I highly recommend.

Firstly the communication before even booking something was fantastic. Everything I could think of to ask was answered fully, my concerns with the procedure were alleviated with video calls with the surgeon to discuss my options and what would suit me and I was able to confidently book for implants.
We discussed different suitable dates and then as soon as I booked my flights, everything was organised by MedAway. There truly was no stress or hassle with this.Even when I requested an extra night at the hotel. It was included with no trouble at all.
I was sent hotel, hospital, and transport confirmations via WhatsApp and email too. Which was very reassuring. The team got in touch a few days before the flights then for itinerary so transport could be timed perfectly also, (which was ideal ans my flight was two hours delayed) and instructions for when I land.
I was picked up and taken straight to the hospital where I met my rep/advisor nurse Ruveyda. Ruveyda was absolutely lovely, so helpful, so informative and just a beautifully lovely lady. She made me feel so secure and comfortable. Talked me through all the processes, reassured any worries and was more than helpful when we asked for location amenities. Over the weekend when she was off, Faiza took over with the aftercare visits at the hospital and she was equally so lovely, helpful and informative! I couldn’t fault them at all. I had my obs checked, blood checked etc at this time also.
I met my surgeon dr Taygun the day I got to hospital and had long talk about what I wanted and then the next morning before surgery we had a in-depth consultation where measurements were all taken and pictures, then I was on my way to surgery.
The results are fantastic, perfect size (I had 445cc) and they just look great. Obviously it takes time for the final results, but it’s blatant they’re what I wanted.
Dr Taygun was really informative with aftercare and making sure I was getting the right pain relief, comfort in my compression garments and with just feeling safe post op. He let me stay in the hospital for an extra night also as I was anxious to go to the hospital with drains.

The hospital is the nicest I’ve ever seen, I also really rated the meals provided (for my partner too) as they were whole foods and just what I needed. The nurses are lovely gentle ladies, and even the porters are helpful if you need anything.

The hotel was also absolutely fantastic. The lobby and restaurant are stunning, the room was sooo nice and a great size. Bathroom was lush and all so clean. And again, any whim I had was seen to. I had my bedding changed everyday so it was clean and fresh every day, settling my anxiety with having fresh wounds etc.
The location was great also, there were salons all around so on my rest days I could get my nails done, get my hair washed and dried, have a foot massage for example too even and then there were loads of food options. The hotel had its own restaurant, which was great ( the free breakfast is SO good and fresh!) the staff again too, so lovely and so kind. One evening they randomly brought over a dessert to me, it was a free act of kindness is all, but I think that says a lot about the nature of the locals.
Theres a large shopping outlet around the corner with everything you need there (besides swimsuits?) but it’s very convenient and *cheap* ahah. Theres also a lounge around the other corner with great food that I highly recommend too. There is also a food delivery app you can order on, but we found the price up to use it wasn’t really worth it, the very short stroll to the shops was enjoyable anyway so we made the most and got out as much as we could. With me needing plenty of rest of course a couple days I didn’t find myself up and out until later on, but it was no issue as everywhere stayed open until very late, most would give free hot drinks after the meal also!

Whilst I was in the hotel, any concern was answered quickly via the aftercare team on WhatsApp, they were so great I honestly can’t think of a bad thing to say. They came to the hotel once a day, checked me over and incisions etc, redressed, guided. They were the loveliest.
Once I was home then I’ve been able to speak with them still via WhatsApp. I’ve been really pleased with it. Any concern or even just reassurance needed they’ve provided. I got quite low one day and they were sooo uplifting it’s not something to not appreciate. I was worried I may have no contact once I was home but it’s really not been the case. I also have my surgeon personal contact details so I can ask him anything, send progress pics etc and it’s really reassuring. Dr Taygun is truly a lovely and caring dr that really does care for his patients and work. I’m so glad I went for it and would return

AVOID MEDAWAY AT ALL COSTS!!

If you are looking for a sign, this is it. Cancel your trip, and look elsewhere.

I have had such an awful experience with my liposuction. My original ask was ignored by my surgeon, there was next to no support for when I arrived home, I was gaslit for months about the results and when I finally submitted a complaints form, I was just ignored again. I have been fighting for a year to be heard, and they do not care in the slightest.

Medaway do not care about your results, they do not take accountability, and they will NOT support you.

Please save your money and go somewhere that you can trust, Medaway is not that.

My Rhinoplasty Journey


My Rhinoplasty Journey – Honest Review

I travelled to Istanbul for rhinoplasty with Dr Akin Sahin and overall I had a positive experience. From the start, the communication was good. My patient coordinator, Ruveyda, was incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the whole process. She answered all of my questions and kept everything organised, which really helped ease my nerves before surgery.

The medical care at the hospital was hit and miss with a few of the nurses but most of them were nice. The language barrier didn’t help much either. The hospital was called Orion surgery centre. The nurse, Faiza, was amazing and came to see me nearly every day at the hotel while I was recovering. It was really reassuring having someone check on me regularly and make sure everything was healing properly.

Transport was arranged for all appointments as well. The taxi driver who took us to and from the airport and clinic was always on time, friendly and professional, which made travelling around very easy.

The clinic arranged accommodation in a 5-star hotel with great facilities including a swimming pool, gym and sauna, and the room itself was comfortable and perfect for recovery. The staff in the bar area were helpful and gave me bags of ice for my eyes whenever I needed.

However, the experience at the hotel wasn’t entirely positive. The hotel was the Delta hotels by Marriott, Kağıthane. Some of the staff around the gym and pool area were shockingly rude and openly transphobic towards my niece. Their attitude was completely unacceptable and left her extremely upset. In a hotel that claims to be “5-star”, you would expect professionalism and respect for guests, not outdated and discriminatory behaviour. It honestly ruined what should have been a relaxing environment during recovery.

As for the surgery itself, I’m happy overall with the result. My nose is currently a little more upturned than I would personally prefer, but it’s only been 2 weeks and I understand that swelling and healing take time, so I’m hopeful the final result will settle over the coming months.

Overall, the medical team were good and I’m grateful for the care I received, especially from Ruveyda and nurse Faiza who really looked after me throughout the whole journey.

Please be aware that after the procedure when you return home the aftercare is none existent.

What an amazing experience I had with MedAway. I’ve had work done in the uk and was so unhappy that’s why I came to turkey this time. I’m just gutted that I didn’t come here first they are fantastic and so lovely. From the bottom of my heart thank you for taking such great care of me.
