I purchased a smartfind 10 in march 2024, at installation it states i needed a windows based computer to get the system to work, i have a Mac, on page 66 of the manual it states a system for Mac can be downloaded. It can not. Its not possable to contact this company even the people i purchased it from cant get an answer. Avoid at all cost would be my advise.
I bought a replacement battery for a McMurdo PLB from Mailspeed Marine: instead of a life of 6 years, it was 4 months! If I hadn't noticed, I would have relied on emergency communication equipment with an out of date battery for 5 years! Mailspeed failed to respond to 2 emails and a recorded delivery letter; I emailed McMurdo for their information and they made Mailspeed respond to me with a refund. But for that, I'd have had to take Mailspeed to small claims court.
Although McMurdo don't deal directly with end users and this wasn't actually their problem, in this case they offered to sell me a replacement battery.
So full marks to McMurdo: their excellent service gives me confidence in McMurdo as a company and in their products.
