Max Appliance Repair in Halifax Reviews 

Having a dishwasher repaired and just needed a hose replaced but man arrived and said it needed a slew of other parts. I had to pay upfront for the parts he was ordering and then he would return in a few days for the repair. Been 4 hours in my house and still not working. My dishwasher repair will end up costing $6-700 and god only knows if it will work. Tech really does not seem to know what he is doing!

Spent over $400 on a dryer repair and it fixed absolutely nothing! They want $200 more to revisit. Guy was googling the problem on his phone at our house and trying the same things we had already tried.

Will never call these guys again.

Very expensive, that's all I can say. Do a bit of homework and read the reviews. I will not use this company again

Grossly overcharging customers. Parts installed were quoted at $139 at their cost when same parts sell for $56 on amazon. Very difficult to talk to and screamed at me that I wasn't being honest with them. Kept telling me different information with every question I asked them. Told me it was original manufacturers parts they were installing when it was all after market. They area 0/5 stars. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I am a hard working honest person and this company is very dishonest

After 400$ spent for a defrost problem that wasn't a problem, the problem hasn't been fixed and we are back at square one, with no fridge and no reimbursement. Very angry at Max appliance atm

My dishwasher stopped working in late January. I did some research and was fairly certain that it was the ‘thermal fuse’. I contacted Max Appliance Repair and mentioned the problem, asking if they carried parts. I was assured the technician carried supplies and would probably be able to fix the dishwasher during the initial visit. The dispatcher quoted, that a home visit was $89.00, and if a second visit was required this initial fee would be applied against the work. When the technician arrived he spent a few minutes looking at the machine before diagnosing that the electronic control board needed to be replaced. I mentioned that the thermal fuse was a common problem and asked him to please check it, ‘he stated it wasn’t the fuse - it was the control board’. I asked if I could purchase a fuse and was told that they don’t carry any parts (contrary to what is advertised on their site and what I was told on the phone). He then provided a cost of $520.00 for the repair, requiring payment of 50% for the part. He stated that I have 24 hours to decide, after which I would lose the initial home visit fee and would have to pay the full amount. He was quite firm in recommending that I proceed with the repair stating that the dishwasher was worth fixing. I paid $89.00 + tax for the visit and a 3% credit card fee. At this point I just wanted this guy out of my house!
From what I had viewed on line I was almost certain the problem was not the electronic control board, and that I was being misled. I ordered a thermal fuse on Amazon for $16.00 and repaired the dishwasher myself in less than 10 minutes. Luckily I’m only out $105.00 and didn’t fall for their deceptive practises.

I am giving one star only because I had to in order to begin a review. DO NOT use these people. They came to my home 5 weeks ago to assess my oven. Told me the issue, required payment for visit (which is to be waived if we use them to do repair) and ordered part (which was coming from Ontario, so I was told a week for it to arrive). They required $ for part before ordering it. I have never had to pay for a part prior to a job being done, so I was skeptical. As it was two weeks before Christmas I paid them $400.00, against my better judgement. I have not heard a word from them since. I have called numerous times and get a dispatcher who says she will have technician call me. I have talked to the same dispatcher more than once and she tells me she never spoke to me ?!? She refuses to give me number for technician and acts completely unnerved by the whole situation. Just silence on the other end of the line. So here I sit, 5 weeks later, our 400 dollars with an oven that still does not work and feeling completely duped. Do NOT, do NOT use these scam artists.

I am really pleased with the service I’ve got. Oleksii came the same day and repaired my appliance on the spot. I appreciate the great customer service and his professionalism. I will recommend him to all my friends. Thanks.

Possibly the best, and most accommodating service we have ever found. Oleksii is courteous, explains the charges in detail, calls before so no waiting and wondering if and when to expect him. Very pleased with this service. Would not hesitate to call again if needed.
