Pete is an excellent maths tutor he knows how to strike the right balance between support and challenge. He breaks down tricky concepts into clear, manageable steps, pushes our daughter to think harder and stretch her abilities.

His patient approach and knack for explaining things have made a huge difference, and his (wonderfully terrible!) maths jokes keeps her lessons fun and relaxed, she always comes out of a lesson with a smile on her face.

Since working with Pete, our daughter is not only more confident and engaged, but also genuinely challenged and motivated to improve. We’d highly recommend him to anyone looking for a maths tutor.

Pete has been teaching both of my sons for the past couple of years. He has made the most incredible difference to both of them, as they were both very behind, and struggling with the mainstream school environment. The patience and commitment he shows to them week after week is outstanding, and best of all, they actually look forward to his lessons!
My eldest son has some additional needs and pete went out of his way to build up a rapport with him and they have such a good bond. He has come on so much, and recently passed his functional skills level 1 with almost full marks and now working towards level 2 and GCSE next year.
My only regret is not finding a tutor like Pete sooner!

We contacted Peter a couple of months before our daughter’s maths exam as she had got herself into a bit of a last minute panic. Peter was able, through patient and thorough teaching, support her with any gaps or shortfalls she had in her knowledge and reassure her that it would all be ok. Which it was! She got the grade she needed and is thrilled. We are so thankful to Peter for his support and care in teaching her. We are extremely pleased with the support Peter has provided for our daughter, she has made great progress in such a short time. In just 8 weeks, she has moved from a grade 3 to a high grade 4, which exceeded our expectations. Peter is always very well prepared for each session, with clear structure and purpose. He is excellent at explaining methods and breaking problems down into manageable steps, which really helps with understanding. Most importantly, Peter has significantly boosted our child’s confidence in maths, and helped her to pass her GCSE.

The experience was absolutely incredible! Working with Mr Dispaine was so beneficial in helping me do well in my GCSEs. Before I started working with him, I was achieving low grade 5s and 6s. However only after working with him for 5 weeks, I managed to achieve a grade 7. Mr Dispaine works incredibly hard to get the best out of his students and I will be eternally grateful for the individually specific effort he put into my education.

Pete tutored my daughter for her GSCEs and she passed thanks to his help.
He was encouraging and engaging and she really didn’t mind the lessons. She’s not naturally a child that likes academic learning so I was worried she wouldn’t stick to it but she did and she got on well with Pete.

My son had Pete as his tutor for the year running up to his A level as he was struggling with maths a little. He needed to get a minimum of a B grade in maths for his first choice of university. Pete explained maths so well after the first session my son was buzzing for maths again! My son achieved his B in maths and I don’t think he could have done this without Pete’s help!

I would highly recommend Pete as a Maths tutor. He has been working with my 14 year old daughter for a year and she has gone from struggling and lacking confidence to scoring high in her mock exams but more importantly having confidence in herself and actually enjoying the subject. My daughter has never once been reluctant to attend her class even after a long day at school and comes away feeling energised and motivated. I’m so relieved that I’ve found Pete in the run up to her GCSEs and feel that with his continued support and his commitment to providing his students with helpful materials, that she will do well.

Pete was amazing with my daughter, who didn't always manage to put in the effort required. He kept on encouraging her and believing in her, even when I'm not sure she believed in herself. He even gave up his precious bank holiday Mondays in the weeks before the GCSEs, so that his students could have two lessons a week. If my daughter passes her Maths GCSE, much of the credit for that must go to Pete - a first class, kind, caring tutor.'

We cannot thank Pete enough for everything he has done for our 11y.o. neurodivergent son. Fantastic teacher! Pete is unique in his teaching style. He tailors his approach to your kids needs and teaches in a way that really does help them learn and build their confidence. He helped my eldest daughter achieve her GCSE. Before Pete's support she was convinced she would not get there. My youngest is also learning from Pete and will continue to until she achieves her GCSE. I can't recommend Pete highly enough. He really does make a difference.

Amazing Tutor, Highly recommend recommend. I improved my Maths from a grade 2 to almost a grade 5 in only six weeks. Pete is an amazing teacher and everyone can benefit by learning from him, Would personally recommend him to anyone looking to improve their maths skills.

For those parents looking for a Maths tutor and going through the arduous task searching and trawling through endless myriad tutors online look no further . We found Pete the old fashion way , word of mouth the only tried and tested traditional method that still exists in our digital age where your whole world is a computer screen right in front of you , everything turns into ones and zeroes , people turns into data points , sometimes you don't see or ever look or view things through a human level. Pete has been brilliant with our daughter he redresses this imbalance through his vast years of teaching experience , his mastery approach to teaching methods and focussed plans serve as a conduit for our daughter's brilliant results. Something of an understatement is that Pete does not realise he not just a Math tutor he is an outstanding Mentor through his guidance and direction he helps your child build bridges rather than walls in the logical reasoning and critical thinking skills. His commitment and authenticity towards self development Pete can decipher and see the best of your child's ability something lacking in other tutors and some schools large classrooms. From a predicted 3/4 Gcse Maths foundation straight to Gcse Maths Higher in a short space of time was impressive but from A Level straight to a Triple A Russell University WOW! This is a testament to his pragmatic , practical and critical agility logic he teaches . At the beginning our daughter really struggled on her Gcse Maths foundation but now she sings praises about Pete methods he doesn't see hindrance and obstacles in students but he cultivates perseverance and purposeful action for a clear goal .
A taught student is nurtured , an inspired student is mentored Pete harbours both these excellences a very rare quality found in these days especially in the todays world of binary zero and numbers , maths has a way to tell you are right and wrong. Pete has proven to us and our daughter is a testament of his tutoring. Any student taught by Pete are very lucky to have such an exceptional TUTOR & MENTOR. It takes time, you will get there. I'm a really hard customer! my daughters got borderline dyscalculia and now in yr5/6 needs real help with basic number sense/addition/subtraction etc . I've had a couple of other tutors and neither was able to do what's pete achieved with her in just 6 weeks. Petes got an ability to understand your child's strengths and use those to support learning in a real fun, tailored and strength based way. I'm really impressed and I don't say that (really ever!). recommend pete to anyone needing specific maths support with their kids. thanks pete
