I just can’t get through on the phone
I just can’t get through on the phone. I’m insured through MasterQuote, want to get a new van insured with them and being trying to get in contact now for 2 days. On hold for nearly an hour at a time. I can only assume they have hardly any staff answering phone calls, as it never used to be this bad.
Was helped knowledgeably
Was helped knowledgeably. Appreciate the assistance by staff member Muz. He was very patient with me in explaining my policy.
Terrible company, avoid!
What a terrible company! I've been a customer for many years, recently lost my job and missed a payment. No help whatsoever, sent me 1 letter titled Final Demand but have provided no breakdown of what they're trying to charge me for. No response to emails, appalling customer service, clearly ripping people off!
Dreadful customer service
We were trying to get through on the phone yesterday two calls, twenty minutes each time. Today, two calls probably 50 mins each. No-one answered, so we gave up. Never deal with this Company, their customer service is dreadful.

Appalling charges and shocking customer…
Appalling charges and shocking customer service. Wanted to amend my policy with MQ as I was due to get a new car but renewal quote was nearly double the amount I was currently paying. I changed my kia piacanto to a mini. When I told them that was ridiculous and that I would cancel my policy they informed me it would cost me £124.34 to cancel!!! I have been a customer for over 10 years with no claims. I felt like I was being robbed and will not recommend this company to anyone. Shocking!!!!

Appalling Customer Service
The customer service I have received from MasterQuote (MQ) is appalling and very unprofessional. I was contacted by phone and email on the 17th February 2021 by MQ advising my Household and Contents insurance was due for renewal on the 15th March. In their email they requested some information. On the 20th February I rang MQ and spoke to Geoff and provided the information they requested. On the 24th February MQ emailed me for additional information. I rang MQ on the 24th, spoke to Ethan and gave him the information. I received a further email on the 24th February requesting more information to which I replied to on the same day. On the 2nd March MQ contacted me stating the safe rating was not sufficient for the contents insurance and I stated I would purchase the correct rating safe. Since then I have been called three times (twice on the 4th and once on the 8th) by Ellie of MQ stating she and Kat were handling the renewal and again asking some of the same questions I had previously answered - no communication process between individuals in the MQ. organisation. They had identified two potential Insurance companies and would be in touch with me. Since then I have heard nothing!! My House and Contents insurance has now expired . I have been dealing with MQ for the last 5 years and have always received a very good level of service. Now the complete opposite. Their communication is appalling, their customer focus non-existent and their commitment to call back meaningless (They have my direct line and mobile number both of which have voice mail). Please don't deal with this company.

Don't make the same mistake I made.
My wife organised my works van insurance renewal. The quote was £152.67 which was accepted and paid for. Shortly after a request for written proof of no claims bonus came through. The previous insurers, Hastings Direct, had as usual provided al the relevant details on on an automatic renewal schedule. This I forwarded. Apparently this wasn't acceptable. I organised received and forwarded the relevant written proof, although we all know they share and compare info. I then received notification that an additional premium of £76.36 would be charged for no proof of no claims.
Meanwhile my dear old Renault Trafic bit the dust. So I contacted MasterQuote about cancelling the policy and was advised I would receive a refund of a meagre £35. This was better than nothing.
I cancelled the policy. MasterQuote sent me a cancellation notice charging me £96.80 for the 18 days of cover, a cancellation fee of £75.00 leaving a balance of £19.13 outstanding. This they helped themselves to from my credit card.
This could not have included the £76.36 for no proof of no claims, as I received a proof of no claims from them for in excess of ten years.
£171.80 for 18 days cover. £152.62 for a full year. Guess it was cheaper not to cancel.
Would have been a lot cheaper to go with a reputable company.
Don't make the same mistake I made.

Terrible experience
Terrible experience, tried to get a quote to change my car via telephone after over an hour on phone they said would call me back. Never got one, I then needed insurance ASAP so I could collect my car from garage. I ended up doing it via the master quote portal which the price seemed expensive, this prompted me to call them up in first place, agent said they could probably get it down cheaper. Fast forward to next day and dealer told me I needed to show 12 months insurance. I was forced to get insurance with another company. I’ve rang up master quote on 6th November to cancel the policy but the agent said they would need to work out how much refund I was due back and was promised a call back. Two weeks later and after several calls back they have still not cancelled my insurance. I managed to speak to a customer advisor on 19th November and said he could only cancel it from the 19th even though I requested cancellation on 6th November. Terrible customer service and attitude from the agent, who had the cheek to say I was abusive. I suggest master quote revise the call log to see the facts! Master quote have even sent me a renewal for the insurance despite all my cancellation requests! Ombudsman here I come! Rebecca Collett policy holder FYI masterquote

Very unhappy customer
Last year I found myself with 2 vehicles after I inherited my late father's 1985 Astra. As I already had my own car fully insured I decided to insure my late father's vehicle 3rd party only as it wasn't being used. I paid £23.44 deposit and 10 monthly payments of £11.14. All payments were up to date and the policy was due to expire November 2020. Due to the age of the vehicle and it failing it's MOT I made the difficult decision was let the vehicle go. When I contacted Masterquote to advise them that I would not be renewing I found myself having to pay £76.80 cancellation fee. How they can justify this I do not know, the cancellation fee is more than 1/2 of the original policy. I think giving them 1 star is being too generous.

Awful experience from start to finish
Had a terrible time from the day I insured with this company getting everything set but stayed for the year as I already cancelled a previous quote.
I had a renewal email today saying my cover has increased by £200. I called to say i did not want to renew and this was all finished in less than 5 minutes which was refreshing.
The lady on the phone said she has put my account NOT for renewal and this will be confirmed by a letter in the post. Pay attention please Masterquote, I DO NOT WANT TO RENEW WITH YOU.
I get and email this evening thanking me for renewing my car insurance. I DO NOT WANT RENEW. This was very clearly explained and confirmed over the phone. I am not giving you any more of my money.
Somebody better contact me to confirm I will not be renewing with you as I am sick of having to chase this company. It's been a awful experience from the start.

Appalling charges
Appalling charges.
Cancelled my policy with this company as I was due to get a new car and the renewal quoted was twice the amount I had been paying. Confirmed over the phone the policy was cancelled only to receive a letter saying that I must pay over £90 cancellation fee. They also took an extra month insurance from my account.
Shocking. I’m driving over 14 years - no claims and I’ve never, ever experienced a service like this. Their cancellation fee is appalling!!
Beware policy changes scandalous fees.
Transferd cover to a new car could not collect due to damage paid £80 for this then wanted to charge me £30 to go back cost me £110 for nothing will not use this company ever again and neither should you can’t imagine what it would be like to make a claim with them.
