  1. Interior Designer

Written by the company

I am an Italian interior designer and home stylist based in Bristol. My interest in interiors and design stems from a necessity to have beauty around me and to live in a space which is connected to my emotions. I honed my skills collaborating with a cutting - edge interior design studio in Rome and finally decided to start something which is my own, here, in the place I live. Late in my life I came across “democratic design”, a vision introduced by French designer Phillip Stark as “design that provides quality pieces at accessible prices.” I was fascinated by the word democratic associated with something made for consumption and I decided to carry this vision into residential interior design, helping people create spaces that are beautiful and unique yet also affordable and planet – friendly. I achieve this vision by transferring knowledge to my clients, collaborating with small local makers, carefully selecting suppliers and championing the circular economy cycle. I am intuitive and approachable and I work with my clients to create a design they love and that works for their space, budget and time frame. I love mixing styles, particularly Mid Century modern, Art Déco, Bauhaus and incorporating a vintage piece as well as natural elements and materials in my projects. Whether you are thinking of renovating your space or just giving a new soul to a room I will help you find your natural style and create the space you love.

Think twice before using

Her work is more from a designer's angle, finally, whether things are good to use are not an issue. Adhered to the Client Agreement that "the designer does not provide a warranty, guarantee subcontractor’s quality of work and is not responsible for any subcontractor’s
failure to comply with drawings and specifications or of any latent defect in subcontractor’s work", all problems incurred are not her concern. The worst bit is to refer a company from Italy called ResinLab which is owned or managed by her sister. ResinLab claimed job finished in June 2024. We moved in October and started realising and telling about unfinished parts, severe cracks, easily stained surface, difficult to clean, even hair mounted in the microcement during their work process! ResinLab asked me to stop, saying they never abandon client, and will definitely return to help in May 2025. We patiently waited, problems presist and Resinlab not appearing, they even blocked me for accessing their social. This is the designer that referred her sister who lied and abandoned clients.
Project time control is not ideal as well.

It’s never easy to receive a negative review — and neither is it to respond. But perhaps every professional meets this moment at some point. I suppose it’s part of the journey.
I have formally disputed the content of this review with Trustpilot, as it contains false claims and misrepresents the facts.
What I know for certain is this:
This was a year-long project involving the full redesign of an entire property before a family moved in.
It’s part of my ethos that contractors involved in a project are hired directly by the client. It’s transparent and cost-effective for the client. I simply refer trusted professionals and let clients make their own decisions after meeting each one. I was proud to collaborate with Resinlab, one of Italy’s leading microcement companies — and I was transparent from the beginning that my sister co-owns the firm.
My responsibility was the design and the coordination of its implementation. I did this through regular site visits (once or more each week), and constant communication with the trades and the client — always handled with patience and professionalism.
On completion day, I carried out a full walkthrough with the clients — as I do at the end of every project. They signed a detailed document confirming every aspect of the work had been completed to their full satisfaction, including the microcement.
The microcement work was completed in June 2024 following a detailed walkthrough with Resinlab, during which the clients expressed that the results exceeded their expectations. The scope included the reflooring of several indoor surfaces as well as the insulation and resurfacing of the sun terrace.
At the end of the project, Resinlab kindly returned in October to refine a few areas that had been affected during the ongoing site activity. Thanks to my close collaboration with them, these touch-ups were carried out promptly and at no additional cost.
The clients had asked to move into the property earlier than originally scheduled. As part of this, we agreed that a few remaining installations would be finalised after their move-in. This was clearly stated in the sign-off document, and I supported them post-handover to ensure those final touches were completed seamlessly.
It is not reasonable or standard industry practice to hold me responsible for the work carried out by independently contracted trades.
As part of my handover process, I provided a bespoke care guide, recommended cleaning products, and recorded personal video instructions on how to maintain the new flooring. Unfortunately, this guidance was not followed. None of this additional, complimentary support was acknowledged.
Reading both the review and my response, you may be wondering what to believe. I invite you to explore my other projects, my process, and the words of clients who have trusted me to design homes that truly reflect who they are.
So yes — if you believe what I’ve described here is unreasonable, then I may not be the right designer for you.
But if you’re looking for someone who leads a project with heart, integrity, and obsessive attention to detail — someone who treats your home as if it were their own — then I’d love to meet you. Design is a deeply collaborative process, and it works best when mutual respect is the foundation.
P.S. This response was unfortunately delayed due to a login issue on Trustpilot’s side, which took time to resolve — but it was important for me to respond thoughtfully and with full transparency.

What can we say about Marta other than…

What can we say about Marta other than she has been absolutely fabulous !! Always helpful and works so hard to put your own ideas into her schemes .Her mood boards are so helpful showing what the colours , fabrics ,textures would look like in your room ,explaining about each product and why she has chosen it .She works within your budget and never pushes anything on you .We even had a day trip into Bath to look for different pieces , I would say she goes above and beyond ! Very professional yet very warm , caring and enthusiastic , also I would say very patient as my husband changed his mind a few times !!.. I would definitely recommend Marta and wish her every success as she deserves it .

Very pleased with our finished lounge decoration

Marta is an experienced and knowledgeable interior designer with a real passion for her work. The style cafe was extremely useful and thorough. It helped us decide how to proceed with our lounge redecoration and caused us to think about things we wouldn't have considered ourselves. The style guide Marta prepared was beautifully presented and captured all the key points we discussed at the style cafe. Marta's friendly and open approach was appreciated and we are grateful for the support and expertise she provided.
We are very pleased with the finished decoration - we went for creamy white walls with deep blue chimney breasts and funishings - thank you Marta for encouraging us to step outside the comfort zone of magnolia!
