Level 2 survey review

Tom from Marshall Laurence provided us an excellent service from the start. He helped us in identifying the correct survey to be carried out for the property we're looking to buy, provided us a very detailed report and even got on a Teams call with us after to address some of our queries, which was very reassuring. He was very approachable and quick to respond, so would highly recommend!

Ben was absolutely incredible

Ben was absolutely incredible. We were looking for a new surveyor after our last surveyor made lots of errors in the report/contract and didn’t really have great after care.

Ben helped me through the process of contracts, picking the right service, follow up call after the survey and a teams call follow up! We were really put at ease and knew exactly what we had to do afterwards. Bonus, Ben specialises in subsidence so we felt like we were in good hands!

Roof and loft survey alone- more delivered

I requested that an survey be carried out on my roof and loft space exclusively and Tom from Marshall Laurence carried out an intricate survey on the date that I requested. He was very thorough and delivered an exceptional report and was a pleasant character besides! The survey mentioned areas besides what I had requested and is very useful for my works to undertake.

Great service, much appreciated, highly recommended!

Tom was very helpful, providing a thorough survey report followed by a post-survey on-line discussion for a hour to go through all the details and explain technical aspects and potential repairs. We very much appreciated his patience and thoroughness. Can highly recommend!

Level 3 Building Survey

Had a level 3 survey on a property, and couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. Tom conducted the survey and communicated great over email prior to the survey taking place, noting and following up on areas of concern we had.

Report was detailed but digestible and included a follow up call to discuss results which was brilliant, and Tom was happy to have further calls for any further questions.

Professional with genuinely friendly and approachable service. Would happily use Marshall Laurence again.

Thorough survey and very helpful throughout the process

Would highly recommend Marshall Laurence Surveyors. Ben was extremely knowledgeable and very generous with his time when answering questions throughout the process.

The Level 3 survey was very thorough and addressed the specific concerns we had flagged before the inspection. The survey itself was completed very efficiently and the report was turned around quickly.

The report was detailed and clear, and Ben was also happy to jump on a call afterwards to talk through the findings in depth and answer further questions as the buying process progressed. Overall a very professional service.

Highly recommended

Very prompt response to my initial enquiry with a completely transparent quote. They provided a very detailed report which was followed by a teams call so we could go through it together. Very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this company.

No hard sell, just very useful information

Tom produced a comprehensive report quickly and took time to follow up when necessary. He made clear which of his suggested repairs were urgent, which could wait and which were just good maintenance practice. He answered my follow-up questions and told me he would be available for any further questions I might have. The survey reassured me about what to prioritise and gave me some quick and inexpensive wins. Very pleased to have had this done.

Really professional and efficient…

Really professional and efficient service from start to finish. The surveyor was thorough, clearly explained their findings, and the report was delivered promptly. They flagged a couple of issues I wouldn’t have spotted myself, which gave me real peace of mind before completing the purchase. Great communication throughout and reasonably priced. Highly recommend Ben for a Level 3 Survey

Choosing Ben for our RICS Level 3 survey was the best decision we made in our home-buying process. He used a drone to get a comprehensive view of the roof, which gave us real peace of mind about the structural integrity of the house. He was incredibly detailed in his findings, preparing a comprehensive report pack for us, and he took the time to walk us through the issues he had identified and the potential costs of repairs. He was also on hand to help us navigate the conversations we were having with seller regarding fixing the issues that he had identified. A truly professional service and we again thank Ben for his advice and support.

Run by an honest and kind family

Run by an honest and kind family - the process felt so easy and trustworthy the entire way through. Tom did the survey on our new house and he was quick to communicate, book in the survey, and so willing to discuss all of the findings with us. He went above and beyond to help us understand some of the findings, and he was just really lovely to speak to whenever we had questions. I would recommend this company to anyone!

RICS Level 3 Survey

We were very pleased with the timing and detail of the report, and the communication was fantastic. Ben managed to work to our tight timelines whilst producing a thorough report complete with lots of images. It was clear time and care was taken in undertaking the survey. We had a follow up call the day after which was very helpful.
The quality of the service and report was far above what we have experienced with previous homebuyers surveys.
Would recommend to family and friends.

Detailed, Professional, and Supportive

We recently had a Level 3 survey carried out by Ben and Tom at Marshall Laurence Surveyors and were very impressed with the level of detail provided. The report was thorough and clearly explained, giving us valuable insight as first-time buyers. Brilliant surveyor

Ben did a level 3 home buyers survey for us, we couldn’t be happier with the service. We were in quite a hurry but Ben fitted it in at the last minute, and then got the full report to us in a few days.
Very professional and extremely thorough. Highly recommend.

A good job done!

Good day Ben.

My wife and I read it through and found it very informative with detail and advise.
The pictures were good and the categorised break downs of all the different sections of the house were very user friendly.

Professional and detailed. A breath of fresh air in the buying process


I am incredibly glad that I found Ben and Marshall Laurence Surveyors to do a snagging survey of a new build (which is now our home). The service was smooth, responsive, and professional all the way through. On stating that the survey needed to be turned around in short time, he was willing to accommodate this and spent time to talk through the detailed report he produced. 

Ben correctly identified several issues that should have been remedied by the developer before the purchase and thanks to Ben’s guidance we were able to negotiate with the developer for these remedial works to take place as part of the completion. Buying a property can be a roller coaster journey and having a high quality professional who takes stress away and delivers an excellent job – rather than adding to the overall anxiety of buying the property and moving in – makes a huge difference!

I’ll leave the words from the developer selling the property: “Your surveyor was really thorough!”
