Poor customer care in exceptional circumstances
I purchased a clothing item from Marks & Spencer on 22 February, but due to an injury on 14 March in which I fractured my spine (which I can confirm with consultant letter), I have been unable to return the item to store. I live alone with little support and spoke with customer services today to ask if their refund policy could be extended due to my injury and was told that there was nothing they could do. For a major UK retailer such as M&S to refuse a refund or even an exchange for this item in such circumstances is pretty shoddy customer care and a very disappointing outcome from Marks & Spencer.
