Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of products, noting issues like pilling after minimal wear and items falling apart quickly. People also reported problems with online orders, including significant delays, incorrect items being sent, and difficulties with returns or refunds. A common complaint revolved around pricing, with many feeling that items were too expensive, especially given the perceived low quality, and some even experienced discrepancies between displayed and charged prices. A few other people also felt that the in-store shopping experience was generally positive, appreciating the product selection and the assistance received.

Purchased 2 pairs of silver jeans…

Purchased 2 pairs of silver jeans online, I have done this several times in the past. The material on one pair is splitting apart after 2 washes. I can’t believe the customer service told me this is not a warranty issue. This is awful customer service for 2024. I’m embarrassed this is a Canadian Company.

Rude manager at the Mark's Cochrane store, September 28th, 2024.

A simple query about what I perceived to be a defect in manufacturing of a pack of ladies underwear turned out to be a trial. The manager's tone was accusatory and it was as if she thought I was attempting to scam her. She obviously was not interested in considering my concern. She brought three different styles and before opening any, told me that all Denver Hayes underwear were made with what was supposed to be the interior stitching being on the outside. It was allegedly done that way so that the stitching would not rub on the inner thigh! I thought that this was nonsense. She rudely told me that because they were all made that way, I would not be getting a refund. I did not go to the store to get a refund - I went to the store because the underwear that I bought were unlike any that I have ever bought. The underwear had a manufacturer's defect.

Bought a pair of shoes at the Chatham…

Bought a pair of shoes at the Chatham Mark's store. The shoes where ordered from the Chatham store an delivered from Sarnia. The shoes where black not the brown I had requested from the store employee who had ordered the shoes. Mark's both Sarnia and the Chatham store expected me to drive to Sarnia for the refund and the story goes on and on . Bottom line is that my wife is at end of life and I explained to Mark's employee's that it is not that easy to even make it to the Chatham store. It cost me and other people time and money to go to their store as I must have someone come and stay with my with wife. Thanks Mark's you cost me a good some of money and time. I still do not have any shoes and I will make sure I spread my story.

Don't buy Kodiak Men's boots

Hello, I bought Kodiak Men's boots on April 13, they were at home until June 6, I was looking for a job, I went to work on June 6, WHEN I WORE the boots the problem started with my toes, a burning sensation on the skin. In June at the end of the month the elastic came off the top. In July in the middle of the month there was a 1cm tear on the boot at the bend on the right. On September 20 I brought a receipt with a photo on my phone, but they said that 100 days have passed, we cannot help you. What should I do?

Very poor quality clothing

I bought 9 band logo and other logo t shirts on sale for 11.99 each. I thought it was a steal. The logos were in very poor shape when they came in the mail. Not just one of them, but most of them. Those shirts were all 29.99 full price too. I never bothered contacting the company because the shirts were very cheap. It wasn't worth my time. It makes them look a little more rugged like me lol. Buyer beware Mark's has very poor quality clothes. Never buying there again.

Tried going in store. No normal sizes available for sale items. No variety. Tried ordering online. The website just deleted my items from my basket after finally being able to login and locate the items on the site. Terrible experience and a waste of time. Do better!

Wind River Brand

Purchased the Wind River Capris and have had them for less than a year. The elastic in the stretch material has started to pop and fray making them unbearable. I went into the store to show them the damage and the lady behind the counter expressed it is a common problem with the brand. They are not cheap by any means and I hang dry all of my bottoms when washed. So disappointing that this work wear company does not back their brand. They are listed as a hiking capri therefore should be made of a sturdy material one would think.

Cashier Told Me I Lied about price.

Picked up a scrub top off a rack with a sign that said “Door Buster 50% off”. It rang up at full price and I told the cashier it should be 50% off. She literally ran back there and said “it’s limited styles” or some such thing

Then I told her YES I took it off that rack. She blatantly looked me in the eye and told me that I did not. If someone had placed the scrub top there (along with many in the same style and sizes) it was NOT my fault. But to be basically told I LIED is wrong. I know it’s on camera. This happened in the Airdrie store and this woman needs to be fired. Around 455 pm today.

Would not honor BOGO 50% email

After shopping online with Mark's for many years they refused to honor their BOGO 50% off email sent to me. I tried to place an online order but the prices in my cart did not reflect the savings promised. I called customer service before checking out and it was suggested to me to go ahead and place the order, which could be corrected later, to which I agreed. After placing the order the prices were still incorrect and after checking with her supervisor she said NO they would not honor the email !? I was not given a reason when I asked why, which was unacceptable, so I decided to cancel the whole order. I have not shopped on their website since and unsubscribed from their emails.

I placed an order on line marks site on…

I placed an order on line marks site on February 6, 2024. While waiting for the delivery of the four items I received an email saying it was on it's way on Feb. 14 and that came and went. No package the Marks close to me called and said they had one item. I went to pick it up. Then Canada Post they had one. After weeks I call customer service and the person said they were refunding the funds back to my credit card and still no funds. call again and that person redid the process again and said I had to wait until the investigate. The service stinks and the people does not know how to do there jobs. They did not even care that it is taking so long. Very poor service. BAD, BAD BAD AND HORRIBLE. NO THANKS TO MARKS

Never refunded for shoes which never arrived

Bought a pair of shoes online from Mark's and never received them at my address. Tried to contact them several times, but they always rejected responsibility. They are blaming FedEx and telling me to contact them because they are the delivery company, but both companies are just shifting responsibility from one to another. The money was never refunded. I am never going to order shoes from them again.

I bought a pair of $50 leather gloves

I bought a pair of $50 leather gloves. Got them home and wore them a short time and found they were too big. Took them back and the clerk said I had worn them and there was a bit of dirt on them, I told them I had worn them for a day and produced the receipt to prove purchase. they said it was a hygiene thing and since I had worn them, they could not sell as new so they would not exchange for a smaller size. Total BS since people try on gloves before they buy them. I complained and the manager came and said it was a hygiene thing and no refunds and no exchange, FOR LEATHER GLOVES. Don’t buy from these people. If i could give less than one star I would

Don't bother buying Denver Hayes jeans

Don't bother buying Denver Hayes jeans. They're thin and poorly made. I bought a couple of pairs of loose fitting jeans and the crotch and corner of one of the rear pockets ripped out pretty quick within just a couple of weeks, and the other pair had dye that bled into the pockets after the first wash. I exchanged the pair that ripped and also bought some cheap levis from walmart on the same day. The second pair ripped in the same spot, but the Levi's are holding strong over a year later.

Save your time and money, buy Levi's instead. The straight and athletic fits are great.

Uneducated Staff

On December 29/23 I wrote about my Marks experience. If you read it you will see that they told me to keep the slippers and they will return my money. Today is December 7/24 and I still did not receive my refund for these slippers. I used to buy a lot of clothes for my husband in the past and was very happy and my husband was happy. It seems to make a big difference if you shop in the store versus on line. You just get skrewed around with on-line orders. As I said before, Marks will never see me again but I still expect my refund of $47.74. Let's see.
