Be Wary: Reviewing Unwanted Investment Calls from Markets.com
Today, I received an unexpected call from a proxy server allegedly affiliated with Markets.com, claiming that I had recently registered with them. However, I knew for certain that I had not done so, as I am a computer professional primarily engaged in website development and theme coding. I promptly terminated the call.
However, something caught my attention. The voice on the other end sounded eerily familiar, reminiscent of a woman who had called me about a month ago with the same spiel. This time, however, the call originated from Greece, with the caller speaking Greek. Fortunately, I possess a rudimentary understanding of Greek, allowing me to respond with "Βόρεις να μιλάς Αγγλικά" (Boris na Milas Agalika), which translates to "Can you speak English?" in English.
In response, the caller swiftly switched to English, requesting me to wait for two minutes before proceeding. This incident has once again highlighted the dubious practices employed by such entities, attempting to coax unsuspecting individuals into investment schemes destined for failure. It serves as a stark reminder to exercise utmost vigilance before engaging in any investment ventures.
