Ripped off
I've had the same experience as a number of people with manualsmates. You pay a small amount - in my case 80p - no manual arrived and then 3 days later £59.24 was deducted with no explanation but probably a "monthly subscription". A complete scam. Avoid this company at all costs.
Beware of this company
Beware of this company. They are operating a scam. I went onto their website and committed to spending €0.95 to acquire a particular Audi manual that I needed. In the event they debited my Mastercard with the amount but were not able to deliver the correct manual. Since this was an insignificant amount I took a philosophical view and mentally wrote it off. Then after a week I was fortunately reviewing my Mastercard statement and was astonished to discover that this company had that morning debited my card with the sum of £59.23. I immediately contacted the Mastercard desk at my bank. They informed me that Manualsmate is well known to them as they have had many complaints from their cardholders. However, they explained that before they could act I would need to contact Manualsmate to give them the chance to return my money. Accordingly I immediately emailed them demanding an immediate return of my £59.23. The following day I received the most asinine email from them. It was very rambling and extremely badly written but their message was that they were claiming that because I had ordered the Audi manual I had somehow automatically subscribed to a monthly “personal service” subscription of €69.95 per month renewable monthly by default. Needless to say this was total nonsense as I had never subscribed to their services, particularly given the fact that they could not even provide me with the correct Audi manual.
I called their office and spoke to a girl who could hardly speak English and after a long and rather tedious conversation she agreed to email me to confirm that they would credit back my money. I did receive another badly written and very condescending email informing me that whilst I had “subscribed” to their so-called service they were prepared to return my money. Today, after a two day wait the money was finally credited to my Mastercard account.
This company is running an out and out scam and should be avoided at all costs.
This company is a scam
This company is a scam. They gave the impression that I would receive a manual within 24 hours then, having sent nothing they asked for more information.
I looked for the additional information but could not find it/ Next thing I know is that almost £60 has been taken from my account as a "Subscription" They have refused a refund. Clearly, I have been foolish and Gullible but I would like to try an d make sure that nobody else falls foul of this outfit.
Scammers
Scammers, will charge you like 80p for a manual and out of nowhere will start charging you £60 a month. Luckily my bank prevented them from taking the money but you might not be so lucky. Still had to cancel my card to stop them.
Legal perhaps, but honest?
Like just about everyone else, I ordered a manual at the end of March. This company sent me a pdf for £0.81. A week later I noticed a charge on my M&S credit card for £60.04. As this was, apparently, a subscription I cancelled the recurring debits. (Who wants to pay £720 pa for the occasional manual)? I e-mailed the company who said their T&Cs clearly indicated that I was taking out a subscription. I tried to retrace the steps I made on their order page but my access to it was blocked.
I again contacted the company who e-mailed me to say they had reimbursed me. But they hadn’t. A second e-mail resulted in the same reply. They lie through their teeth.
Mastercard is currently investigating so don’t touch this company even with the largest of barge poles.
Manualsmate recommended
The link to the manual that ran to several hundred pages came within 24 hrs. The reason it was so large was that it was in many different languages. While not any fault of the supplier, it was a copy of the instruction set i already had that came with the machine and which i already had to hand.
Its content was very basic with the usual safety warnings and how to basically use it and was not of any use in fault finding it - it simply said if it does not work, return at my own cost to the supplier.
I do recommend Manualsmate who responded quickly and professionally.
Beware scam enterprise
Beware This enterprise will hook you in with a modest purchase (of a product they most likely don’t have) then sting you for a €65 monthly subscription you won't be asked to consent too!!
This company presents itself as a database of rare, difficult to find manuals. My experience was that I queried their site for the rare manual i required, this “search” of their "database" suggested the manual was available. One is then invited to pay 0.95 Euros for a PDF copy. After paying this reasonable price a manual was sent via email which was not rare or difficult to find. It was not the manual they claimed. It was a file readily available after a quick Google search!
This modest purchase then subscribes you to a “service” costing €65 / month, this fee is then taken from your card after just 48 hours.
I think this is a scam
Like so many others, I went for the 1-euro download only to be disappointed not to get what I needed. They followed up with two payment calls despite not having provided anything.
Keep well away. Do not use.
This is a fraudulent business
This is a fraudulent business, I paid £0.81 for a phone manual download which I have since been unable to find on my computer. Two weeks later they have taken £59.62 without any notification.
I have reported this to my bank as a fraudulent transaction.
Avoid - scammers!
Total fraudsters and con artists.
I paid £0.82 for manual which didn't materialise, then a week later they collected £60.28 from my bank. I requested a refund but they refused.
Avoid
Total gangsters and fraudsters
Paid 95c for manual i did not get, then they tried to collect 69.95 from my bank, but Bank Of Ireland fraud department stopped them
Manuals mate scam☝️
Please do not subscribe to this company,it looks like you get an email with a manual for 99p. NO a week later they take £59 from your account! How many books could one buy with that money!
BEWARE OF THIS ORGANISATION
My wife has had exactly the same experience as most reviewers here (I can't believe the positive reviews I am afraid!) - luckily her credit card company spotted the sharp practice immediately and stopped the payment, I hope this organisation are known by them for this practice
Avoid this company!
Avoid this company!! I paid just under one euro for the manual for the new thermostat that the plumber had installed and they sent me a manual telling me how to install it on the WALL which is easy. I needed a manual giving me the OPERATING instructions for the thermostat which I never received. Then 5 days later they took 69.95 euros out of my account! At least they did reimburse me when I made a fuss.
Stay Clear of this lot.
Not even worth the 1 star. They sent me a manual that was similar to the one I needed, it wasn't much good, but believing I was only charged around £1, I let it be. A few weeks later £59.75 was taken out of my account, to Manualsmate.com . I contacted them but with no results, as another £59. 75 has recently been taken out of my bank account. Stay way clear of Manualsmate.
A clever scam
Like others, I ordered a manual expecting to pay about £1. They sent me link to a similar device's manual which was useful. However my next two credit card bills show a charge of EUR 69.95 (plus a non-sterling transaction fee of £1.79) - the subscription trick.
A clever scam, but not illegal, unfortunately as the subscription is buried in the Ts & Cs. Avoid this seller.
Wish I read these reviews before I…
Wish I read these reviews before I ordered a manual. Can conform this site is a SCAM. Have been ducted 2x of £60. Whe you go top the login page supplied by them the page is error message 404 page not found.
Stay clear of them
Manualsmate Scam
As per other reviewers, ordered a manual for a Dell 400. Received an e-mail with e-manual, but no mention of subscription. Next thing £61.50 is drawn from my account. Didn't notice for a week until I carried out my normal check. E-mailed Manualsmate and received reply saying they "would cancel my ongoing subscription" and no offer of refund!! I eventually found the subscription paragraph buried in their T's & C's. At no time had there been any mention of a subscription. Now trying to get a refund through my bank.
Basically a SCAM. Do not deal with them.
SCAM company…BEWARE
SCAM company…BEWARE

Thought I would ring the telephone number given in London surprise surprise Germany not London as stated..
