Keith arrived and took a good look around the car. The car was impeccable inside and out and it was like he was determined to find something. On the report for 3 of the alloys, none that had been... See more

Racially abused
A colleague of mine was racially abused by Ben who is the manager of this place. There was a dispute on the grading of a vehicle phone calls were made etc the last phone call Ben assumed our colleague had placed the phone down however the callw as still active and referred to him as a stupid p*ki bas**rd. Complaints were made but the agreement was theyd do a take back on the vehicle and someone apologised hpwever once the take back was complete our account was blocked. Ben continues to gain promotion after promotion but i wonder if higher management are aware lf the incident
Its not a very nice feeling when you do walk into the place not very welcoming but these places are like this
Absolutely horrendous experience
Absolutely horrendous experience. I returned my 4 year old Nissan Juke in excellent condition, yet the Manheim staff member who inspected it was incredibly rude, intimidating, and nitpicked every tiny detail on a four-year-old car that was clearly well looked after. Thankfully, the lease company has since apologised on Manheim’s behalf - but that doesn’t excuse the behaviour. Avoid this company at all costs. If I could give no stars I would...

Friendly inspector
Very nice gentleman came this morning, Steven Singh. Very friendly. Went through everything on with us on our car. Although didn’t agree with him on the 1 item he picked up on, but then he was only doing his job

Fair and thorough
After reading the host of negative reviews I was anxious about the inspection, however I need not have worried at all. The inspector was polite and friendly and very professional. I had scuffed both front alloys and was aware that they would incur a charge. After the inspection, which took about 40 minutes, the inspector explained his findings in detail and told me the fee that would be levied, which was less than I had been expecting. He explained that I could agree and sign, which I was happy to do. He explained that I had the right to dispute the findings and penalty fee with my lease company. I had no intention of doing this as I thought the whole process and penalty fee was both fair and appropriate.
The inspector had a colleague waiting in the car they arrived in and he drove the car away after the inspection had ended.
Altogether a smooth, professional and fair process.

Inspection detail incorrect.
Poor experience when my lease car was returned after 2 years. Mainheim Inspector tried to find every possible mark on a fully valeted car which had the full benefit of ceramic paint protection. Some minor items that were not visible at walk-round were then examined panel by panel but within guidelines for wear and tear so no problem. However a minor surface scratch very hard to see was put down as going through to bare metal which was not the case. Said I had to challenge the £160 charge for a full respray which he said would need to be done on the panel. Don’t trust these inspectors as never had any problems or charges with return of previous lease cars which are always valeted back to showroom condition before return. My charge was waived by my finance Company when they agreed I should not be charged for this one mark surface scratch that had not gone through to bare metal.

No issues - completely reasonable
Just handed back a PCP vehicle to Darren in Norfolk. I had taken some damage in a car park two days ago (ruined wing mirror, dent in the door) and was worrying mysellf sick based on the trustpilot reviews, and I really didn't have to.
They explained the charges for the lease provider, and they were less than call outs and the replacement cost was what it would have cost me to buy online. Darren was polite, prompt, proffessional and courteous. He talked me through the process, the charges, and disputes process, too, which I was pleasantly surprised at. He pointed out some scuffs and scratches, a few were chargeable, a few weren't. If you want more information I recommend the BVLRA guide book on what they deem acceptable and what they don't - you can google a free pdf version at moneybar and it's called the 'BVLRA fair wear and tear guide.'
Their phone line/e-mail has always been responsive (more so than my financial provider), they have been good on e-mail, too (Louisa has got back to me a few times about stuff and been great about it). If you're worried (I was) just go through the guidance they have sent you well in advance, that's where your main charges will be.

The bad reviews were right
I read the reviews before my inspection, but thought surely it's not as bad as everyone is making it - well, it is if your car is not in showroom condition. My car being 2 years old, having only done 8k miles, managed to occur charges of up to £600. They have very strict standards and basically want the car back in showroom condition. Tried to dispute some of the damages like very minor alloy scuffs, which you'd think falls under fair wear and tear, but no they don't care, you'll be charged on anything they find. Very unreasonable and stressful experience dealing with Manheim, never again.

Horrendous
Horrendous. Absolutely horrendous.
The chap who turned up had an attitude from the get-go & walked around like he was inspecting a NASA rocket.
There’s a jobsworth then there’s this chap. No doubt he’s the type that would read a message like this & chuckle to himself too.
Picking up dents that weren’t visible to the eye & classing it as fair & wear for a 5yr old vehicle - clowns. 🤡

Really bad experiece. Avoid them and ask your car company to STOP USING THEM!
Really bad experience. The inspector who came to check the car was argumentative for no reason and had a very confrontational attitude. He behaved as if he was ready for a fight — completely unprofessional. He tried to charge us for imaginary dents and scratches, and treated us as if we were criminals trying to steal his car. We’ve always serviced our car at the official retailer, and it was inspected by them just three days ago. The car is only three years old, yet he acted as if we had neglected it for decades.

I had a great experience by Simon
I had a great experience by Simon - Kent area.
2 days before giving the car back storm Amy blew something into the car causing it to have a dent and scratch so you can imagine i expected the worst.
Overall fair review of the car and no damage was recorded that I didnt expect. Intact probably fairer than I expected.
I read the return notes from Novuna and BLVA guide before hand so I probably over priced my expectation.
Overall the charge was fair and Novuna gave a discount too. Not as scary as anticipated.

Never again
Had my car inspected today but this useless company within 2 mins told me I had a nail in two tyres. Turns out just stones trying to charge me 280 for a service that was two weeks late . Pointing out dents you could not see , scuff marks on wing mirror housing that rubbed off apparently they can't touch car. Car is 3 years old what do they want show room condition 🤔. Make sure you ask who collects car before you lease one of is this shower don't bother .

Disgraceful company
Disgraceful company, totally incompetent staff members that have no clue about their own company processes. Given different advise every time I call up and no one knows what is going on. I called last week and spoke to one person who was unable to refer me to any manager to discuss a matter further because he was working from home and "no one else is online because at 4pm as they all clock off early on a Monday". Considering this is a company who are responsible for handing vehicles, I would have no faith in trusting anything that do is done is any sort of competent manner. Quite dangerous really. Christ only knows why a company as reputable as Ford trust them with inspections and collections of vehicle.

Absolute disgrace!!!
Charged me for carpet burns when it was actually the metal plates on the car mats!!!
Optical illusions with mirrors showing dents in places that did not exist (the bottom of the frame when opened). They are very clever with the way they photograph. Absolute con artists! The best of it is that they charged me for burn marks 5 years ago on another Nissan car with the same mats! How many more have they done this to? Absolutely shocking!!!!
5 years ago you did nothing but charge me unfairly!!!!

Very disorganised
Very disorganised. I got so frustrated trying to book a date to return my car the same day as the delivery for the new one and in 2 weeks the only thing I have got was “ call tomorrow morning”, “call tomorrow after 3pm”, or even “ we will call you “ and nothing. My new car was delivered and after all the hassle, the date was booked for one week time, so I had to pay extra insurance for the old one because of them. Very very disappointing
