Amazing customer service

I ordered a gift for my husband for his birthday, FedEx messed up and did not deliver my order…. So I emailed and texted Mancrates customer service. They responded in a timely manner and really tried to make my experience right and great with Mancrates. They sent me another package overnight. Although it was late for my husband’s birthday, we could not appreciate more. Really high 5 their service. Thank you.
Also, beef jerky I bought for husband was amazing!!

Moldy food

I ordered the jerky man crate and some jerky on the side. First it didn’t get shipped together so one was left on the front porch with no who’s it from the other was on the side porch. 2nd there was mold in one of the bags of the jerky and in another was a floss pick. Do not order food from this company. I send and email with pictures and no reply. I spent over 200 on this gift for a coworker and how embarrassing.

I'm sorry to hear that your delivery experience was less than optimal, our carriers will leave packages where they feel the delivery will be safe and it sounds like the delivery drivers left the packages where they felt they would be safe until they were picked up. Also, when ordering from us, there is a possibility that your order will be shipped from different Man Crates warehouses, depending on the item, which is why your order was split into two shipments. We do this to ensure you're getting your order as quickly as possible, we're sorry if this caused any trouble!

We're also sorry to hear that the jerky missed the mark. The floss pick you found is intentionally added by the jerky manufacturer. The packaging of that particular jerky lists that there is a floss pick included in the package.

As for the moldy jerky, that's definitely not how we would have liked your recipient to receive their gift. I have looked through our customer service emails using the name provided on this review and cannot locate your email to us. If you would please make sure you're emailing guys@mancrates.com and we;ll get back to you within minutes, there's currently no wait for email responses. Also, if you prefer, you can give us a call at 866-902-7260 and we'll pick up the phone to help right away. We'd like the opportunity to replace that jerky free of charge.

Very underwhelming

It's truly unfortunate that I can't include pictures. The box arrived 4 days late, and so badly taped that it was actually opened. Inside the box was a smaller one completely wrapped in duct tape. I get it, man stuff, duct tape, stereotype, ok fine. Inside was the product as advertised, and as it's a gift for someone I can't open it further and taste it, but I certainly hope it tastes better than it was packed. Further more, I emailed once my package was late, and was sent a notification in return that the email address was not functional and my email was undeliverable. This was my first order with ManCrates, and so far, REALLY unimpressed.

Great idea poorly executed

Great idea poorly executed. If u glue every seam on the box, the small pry bar becomes useless. The box splinters apart, one of which bounced off my eye and the rest of the splinters will b stuck in the carpet for some time. Open in the garage or outdoors and on something u don't mind scratching. I needed a claw hammer and a utility knife to complete the operation of opening the crate. What's inside looks cool , bloody ceasar kit, i haven't tasted yet but was pretty pissed about ripping apart the box and surprised i didn't puncture the tomato cans.

I have ordered numerous products from Man Crates and have always been satisfied but this last order was extremely disappointing. I send my brother gifts and when he opened the gift containing jerky made from alcohol every package contained MOLD. He sent me photos of this. Thank god he did not eat any of it and then notice it. Not sure how long this product was sitting on the shelf but man this is a health hazard and could seriously make someone ill!!! The pepperoni sticks in the bloody mary kit were also bad. WHAT THE HELL?

Ok so it took me 3 times to get what i ordered correct. My order was broken the 1st time. I call for a replacement and they send me the order but with the wrong name on it. The 3rd time well over a month later I get the correct order but boxed differently and missing the container the original was supposed to come in. I will say the 3 people I talked to each time were very nice on the phone but this was not a good experience with the cost of the products.

Ordered the whiskey lovers box that came with custom etched decanter and glasses. Unfortunately, we received someone else’s order. Customer service was friendly via email and said they would send us a new crate. On arrival of the second crate it was just a box, no crate at all, with a random small bag of jerky and the glasses wrapped in paper. With a mistake it seems that good customer service would not only resend the ENTIRE order, including a new crate, but also go above and beyond . This was a poorly done re-do. Disappointing.

Very Dissatisfied!!

Very first time I ordered from Man Crates and will definitely be the last!! Placed my order for a Father's Day gift that I was told would be delivered on Father's Day did not deliver as of yet. This completely ruined the day by not delivering on time. I am out of state and specifically ordered because Man Crates gave the option and told me it would deliver on this day.

I appreciate the offer to "refund my shipping" but this whole experience has left such a bad taste that I will not use the company again.

We have looked into your order and can see using the tracking that the order did ship out on the day we expected in order for delivery to occur on time. Which, under normal circumstances would have had your package arrive on time.

We can see that our carrier did indeed drop the ball and we feel awful about that. After looking at the tracking we can see that there is no reason indicated by FedEx for the late delivery, although packages have been delayed by various issues shippers are facing during these uncertain times. Unfortunately we're unable to anticipate delays caused by our carriers, and would definitely have attempted to make alternate plans for your order if we could have. We're happy to see that we've refunded your shipping costs in full for the trouble.

Several Orders Cancelled w/out Notice

Edit: in response to MC’s reply - no email notification of cancellation was provided. Myself and three other individuals who used the code did not receive a cancellation notification. Additionally, I tried to check my order status on the website when the ship date came and went but it is not possible to do so. The website merely stated that email notification would be made when an order is shipped. It is unfortunate for the company that the coupon code openly available on the internet was shared maliciously, unbeknownst to customers like me. However, it is terrible business practice to cancel orders without notification. I would have happily replaced the orders in time for them to be received by Father’s Day. I was even okay with late arrival since they seemed so great and personalization takes time. I suspected MC was slammed with orders for Father’s Day and that accounted for late shipping. Instead, my orders were cancelled with no notification and without time to order another gift prior to Father’s Day. Based on MC’s replies to other reviews, it is clear that MC is happy to provide subpar service and blame others for the problem.

I placed several orders with mancrates. I used a coupon code found on the web. Mancrates processed a relatives order with the code, but cancelled ours without any notification. When they were contacted regarding shipping notification, they simply said the order was cancelled. At the very least I would have expected an email at the time of cancellation to allow for a chance to use a different code and pay the difference. Extremely disappointing.

Apathetic Customer Service turned to EXCEPTIONAL Service

I’ve placed orders for Man Crate products in the past and always had a very pleasant experience so, naturally, with Father’s Day approaching I immediately thought to get my Dad something awesome from Man Crates. Having had experience with their ordering process previously, I knew to expect a pre-authorization charge on my account in addition to the actual purchase cost. Typically, that pre-auth charge is reversed in just a few days and all is well. This time, surprisingly, my account was assessed 2 pre-auth charges in addition to the purchase charge and only one pre-auth fell off. I reached out to customer service via the text/chat feature to get confirmation that the second pre-auth would also come off. The rep I spoke with, Jennifer (if that’s really her name), was rude and snarky and it was completely uncalled for. Perhaps it’s because of my own profession that I have such high standards for customer service, but her snarky response was most certainly unwelcome and had she been one of my employees, she would not have gotten away with it. When I asked her for a link to complete a survey she mysteriously disappeared, so now I’m here leaving this review. Based on some of the other snippy responses made on bad reviews on here, it seems Man Crates has fostered a culture of rudeness and condescension among their customer “service” professionals, so I can only imagine the lack-luster response this will generate. Nevertheless, it’s not in my nature to let poor customer service go … here’s to hoping my Dad’s gift arrives on time and in pristine condition, and that the second pre-auth is reversed in 24 hours.

UPDATE: I’ve updated my review from 1 to 5 stars. While I was appalled at the way my inquiry was initially handled with customer service yesterday, I am perfectly pleased with Man Crates’ handling of my concerns. THIS is what exceptional customer service looks like and I am happy to say I will continue HAPPILY ordering from Man Crates in the future. Thank you Elizabeth and team for responding so quickly and proving what I’ve always believed about this company, quality products AND quality service!
