This is my local rag

This is my local rag, but they have taken away the choice to accept only functional cooker now, they want you to accept all cookies ie all the vendors as many as 200 imagine that, the phone would drive you batty with all the adverts. Or you can pay 2.99 a month to read it without the 200 plus vendors. So no more accepting necessary cookies, so no choice, they are literally holding you to ransome pay up or except the 200 plus vendors, so now it's no more news well Manchester evening news that it i would sooner have none well you can stuff your newspaper were the sun dont shine and that goes for any other paper I will not be held to ransome pay up or get undated with adverts. Get stuffed

Poor App

Found the app to be a waste of time.
It's news is just clickbait often out of our area , the app is full of adverts, the comments on even the most basic of stories are switched off. Even non swearing respectful comments are denied and the find out why button refuses to open.
Overall what used to be an excellent local newspaper is now just a pathetic online rag with poor journalism. The MEN won't even respond on here which tells you everything. Disappointing.

Worst rag ever

Worst rag ever. Full of adverts and poorly written news articles. Latest thing now is instead of Reach installing cookie you they want you to PAY for not having Reach install malware, the MEN is by far the worst website and worst newspaper ever.

The worst

The worst, most unusable, website I’ve ever come across. Overloaded with intrusive adverts, click bait and other pop ups. Pages frequently reload as it tries to provide more rubbish that you don’t want or redirects you to unscrupulous websites.

Fake News

I used to read MEN for the football news but it's pointless now as every headline they write is fake;

Just put it out of it's misery

Just put it out of it's misery. Click on a news item and it works only sometimes, the screen is all over the place with slow adds, half the screen is visible. Yep close the thing down.

Now unreadable

Constant clickbait ads and every time I try to read an article, it comes up with Reach trying to download cookies. It doesn't matter what I click on then, every article brings up the same popup. I've tried all suggested ways of stopping it but it makes no difference. And I really, really don't care about the actors in Coronation Street.

You've got more ads than news on your website. I've had more maleare and ohishing attempts blocked from your website than any other website I've ever been on. I was only on MEN site for a couple minutes and my own forewall blocked over 20 attempts of malware and phishing attempts.
More than likely gonna end up with a hacked phone or device sitting on this newspapers website

Unreadable tripe.

It's heartbreaking how a once respected newspaper has sunk so low. Truly, truly dire articles, meaningless click bait nonsense and God awful journalism. Shame on you Reach Plc.

Bombarded with adverts

Website is unreadable due to constantly being bombarded with adverts and pop ups- clearly more bothered about advertising revenue than retaining readers.

Awful

Adverts and click bait stories which…

Adverts and click bait stories which always has missing words and poor grammar so likely written by AI or something similar. They tried to limit the stories you could read without becoming a premium member so just stopped using it as much as I'm sure a lot of other people did as well so they scrapped that idea and now just flood the website and app with adverts and force the pages to reload constantly over and over so they can generate more ads each time, really strange business model as completely ruined what used to be an excellent app.

Website is unusable

Website is unusable, far too many adverts in relation to the length of an article. There are also embedded videos that stay on screen as you scroll making it very distracting. The quality of the reporting is also really poor, normally containing errors or missing information.

Excessive ads, site crashes and reloads

Impossible to read anything from the website on a phone as the excessive adverts (apart from being really frustrating and over the top) cause the page to constantly crash and reload. So I always try and avoid nowadays. The stories are little more than clickbait most of the time anyway - shoddy journalism.
