Unsafe Environment for Children

Very unsafe environment for children to be practicing Jui Jitsu in. The coaches are unable to visually see or focus on monitoring safety for all children during the session. Which led to my witnessing of various safety failures. If you enroll your child here, please review what you are signing away in their documents before you do it. I would never bring my child back here after what I experienced. I was shamed as a parent after bringing safety concerns up, berated for asking why name calling was not being dealt with (my child has been called names by another child every single practice multiple times during practice and the coaches are aware of this but have failed to provide a long term solution to stop it or offer an intervention to it. I provided a solution for them. Which was that my child would not be working with a child who is name calling them. They did not offer to deal with the other child directly, inform that child's parent, or have a meeting with the children on what's verbally allowed and what isn't. They are allowing my child to be subjected to verbal abuse. What are the protocols set up here that protect the child's emotional wellbeing? I was gaslit by one of the coaches, encouraged to keep him in the classes without being given an explanation or resolution to any of these issues, told that I should not attend the practices anymore, and my parenting was attacked. An egregious "solution" to obvious problems going on here: telling the parent to stop witnessing it. You may sign away certain rights but it does not excuse the owner and/or their staff from negligence and the creation of an unsafe environment for children, to include both emotional and physical safety. Both of which were jeopardized here. I saw safety procedures being broken, the owner took zero responsibility for not setting those safety procedures in the first place, and an inability of the staff to catch, address, and stop unsafe acts during practice drills. Strongly advise that you question a business that asks you to not be present to observe its practices. Also, I don't recall signing any paperwork that stated parents cannot attend and witness a practice session. At one point, I was even told that I needed my child's permission to come back and watch their practice. That has got to be one of the weirdest things I have ever listened to. If you do attend, take note of what you're seeing. And ask yourself why there is so much secrecy going on. Parents are problems here. They are not partners. Children are a dollar amount being taken advantage of. Take note of that, too.
