Good product but awful customer…

Good product but awful customer service. 2 months after receiving my glasses a magnet came loose. I sent multiple emails, used their website form, left answerphone messages and sent a letter recorded delivery. I never had a reply

Customer since 2019 but somethings gone wrong!

I have been buying prescription glasses, frames and accessories from this company since 2019, but something has gone seriously wrong!? My last pair of frames broke last week, I've tried calling, emailing and leaving messages on the answerphone (which is now full!), without a response. Very very disappointed.

Prior to this experience I couldn't fault the service.

A low quality product

I wouldn't buy these glasses again and I'm currently waiting for a order from a different company to replace the ones I did buy.
Firstly, service was quick and efficient. Can't complain about that.
The product however, is poor.
The glasses are very low quality with rough seams, clunky side arm connections and an overall ugly appearance.
The neck band is rigid which catches on my collar constantly pushing the glasses up. This in turn causes the magnet to split slightly and that then catches on any hairs or the skin on the bridge of my nose.
Having a rigid band means that anytime I want to carry them without wearing them I can't slip them in a pocket.

Simply the worst? You decide

The test of any company is not what they do when things go well but how they respond when things go wrong. In this review, I’ll state the bare facts and you can make up your own mind about Magneteyes.

On 2nd December 2023, I placed an order for a pair of Teyes London Readers. In the time promised by Magneteyes, the glasses arrived. However, one of the lenses was badly wrong. I contacted the company and when they looked at the data they could see what had gone wrong. I was suitably reassured that the next pair would be fine. I should point out that Specsavers, who did my eye test, made up a pair of bog-standard reading glasses and there was no problem with them, so it wasn’t anything to do with the prescription.

On 29th January, the new pair of London Readers arrived – and the other lens was now wrong. I got in touch and a representative called and asked me to post the lenses back. I did so and the package was signed-for as received on 31st January. After that, it all went very quiet.

Finally, after numerous messages wondering where my new lenses were, sent (as before) on the company’s contact form, repeated messages left on voicemail and two letters, I heard back on 10th May from the someone in Customer Services. They told me that I had signed for the lenses on 29th January. Yes, I know I did – THIS WAS THE SECOND SET OF INCORRECT LENSES THAT I SENT BACK THE NEXT DAY! At this point, I asked for a refund.

So, to recap, I paid for a pair of glasses on 2nd December 2023; it is now 2nd July 2024, seven months after I paid for them, and I don’t have the glasses. Six weeks ago, someone did get in touch and promised me a refund that should take ‘3 to 5 days’ and a new pair of glasses. Thus far, neither have turned up. If they ever do, I’ll happily update this review. But, for very obvious reasons, I’m not holding my breath. You may well have a better experience with the company. It certainly couldn’t be much worse than mine. Could it? Good luck.

Simply the best.......better than all the rest!

I have a very busy and varied lifestyle that is unfortunately accompanied by the fact that I need to wear reading glasses for pretty much most of what I do. I shudder to think at the number of pairs I have destroyed over the years by treading on them, sitting on them or sleeping on them. I also find that the arms always work loose, requiring constant tightening and/or the frames and bridge bends, making them uncomfortable and poorly fitting. BUT NOT ANY MORE! Cue the utterly brilliant London Readers by Magneteyes. I own two pairs personally and have purchased a pair for my Dad and my Uncle, both of which have experienced the same frustrating issues as me when it comes to living a busy lifestyle at the mercy of reading glasses. You should head on over to their website to fully appreciate the concept but basically, they join/separate in the centre with a quality rare earth magnet and have a fixed and extremely comfortable headband that keeps them firmly in place, no matter how you try and shake them off! It is important that I also mention, I normally can't stand lanyards attached to my glasses, but the fit is so good that you will forget the band is even there until you realise that your glasses are staying firmly planted on your head when you would ordinarily be kicking them across the floor or crushing them underfoot! All parts are replaceable and they come with adjustable side arms with two sizes provided for heads of all shapes and sizes. There are all sorts of colours and side arm/headband combinations to choose from and the lenses are proper optician quality glass that can also be provided in your prescription strength requirements also. I absolutely love these game changers and have no problem singing the praises of this excellent company from the rooftops!
