Carbon steel Wok.

I purchased the carbon steel wok.
On first go this past Monday on seasoning it as instructed ,the bottom turned red red hot. Very dangerous. It now looks like some of the bottom of the inside has turned a different colour. This doesn’t look like it should happen. I’ve emailed pictures and am getting no response from customer service for a refund. Letitia knight. Emailed three times now.

Very poor service

I've been chasing for weeks for my order, barely any responses - certainly none that reassure me I haven't been conned out of my money.

At this point I feel like I've been scammed, especially after reading these Trustpilot reviews.

I've had to resort to contacting various higher-ups on LinkedIn in the hopes I get some kind of decent communication and an idea of when my order will actually arrive. None have responded yet but I've only just contacted them so will update when I hopefully hear back from them.

Please save yourself the stress of dealing with Made In Cookware, they're a nightmare.

I will continue to update this post as things progress (or not).

EDIT: One person on LinkedIn has responded saying they will look in to it within the hour which is reassuring.

EDIT 2: They've responded to let me know they're on the case with the CEO. They do seem to have deleted a comment on their Facebook page where I detailed the steps I've had to resort to which I've reposted just in case it was an error, I'll update if they delete it again.

Just in case they do, here's my message:

"I signed up to LinkedIn today just to be able to message your CEOs etc in order to try and get some kind of resolution and have had a response, so at least someone is looking in to it at the moment.

Feel free to check my various messages on your CRM system for both the USA and UK for my details which I left multiple times over the last month.

I left my phone number on one email asking to be contacted and didn't received a call either.

I have tried hello@madeincookware,
support@madeincookware, live chat USA, live chat UK, LinkedIn CEOs, marketing directors etc (7 people so far I think). Facebook and possibly one or two other social sites, just to get some kind of update on my order which is way overdue.

I've left reviews on Google and Trustpilot so far and will hold off continuing on my rampage, like making a YT review etc as someone is finally doing something, but will continue to let as many people know about your service if I don't receive any kind of meaningful resolution soon.

I just wanted to buy some apparently high-quality pans..."

EDIT 3:
Someone from the CX team contacted me over Facebook messenger to update me. They didn't have the full set of pans that I had ordered (despite getting an email from them specifically to tell me the set was back in stock, and me then ordering within 5 minutes of receiving the email) around a month ago.

They have offered to send a white pan rather than the blue that is part of the set. I've accepted because I just need the set of pans to cook with and have no idea how long I'd continue to have to wait for the blue one.

I'll see how long it takes for them to arrive and if they're all in one piece etc (have read some bad reviews on poor quality so I have my fingers crossed) then update here and other reviews accordingly.

Edit 4: They have refunded 10% of my order as a small apology and are expediting the shipping, so fingers crossed I'll see it soon..

Edit 5: 2 days later and no updates or shipping notifications, back on to chasing. :S

Edit 6: Chased again and got a tracking number finally for the set of 13 pans (minus the white pan which is supposed to be arriving later). The pans (well two) arrived next day via DPD. No paperwork in the box and just 2 of the 13 pans when I was expecting 12.... 🤷‍♂️

Chasing again... Wish me luck.

Edit 7: The order finally arrived with two pans rather than all of them but it seems the order was split in to two packages and the second arrived a day or two later. At the time I was worried they had messed the order up so had to chase again to get answers.

The carbon steel pan that arrived had a very slight wobble when on a flat surface (not ideal for induction, could actually be within tolerances) but they offered to replace the pan so that's good. Doesn't matter for other cooking methods of course but with induction it can create uneven heat.

The other out of stock replacement pan looks to finally have a tracking number so I'm hoping it turns up in the next few days.

All in all it's taken over a month from ordering and has been a lot of hassle and chasing.

I'm happy with the pans, they seem decent quality but I'm no chef.

I get the impression that if I had just left things they would have eventually turned up but this isn't what they advertise on their website for delivery times and communication is very poor.

They're very disorganised but not malicious. The lack of support is probably due to being overwhelmed with customers like me, wondering where their order is. Their tactic is probably to ignore and hope the problem goes away as peoples orders eventually arrive with them.

I found their Facebook help the most responsive, I usually got a reply within a day or three.

FYI: I signed up to the LinkedIn Premium Sales tier which is free for 30 days and this allowed me to message them as a sales lead

I wish I had read trust pilot reviews…

I wish I had read trust pilot reviews for the US site before I bought my Made In nonstick pan. Just like other reviews for the US site, initially the pan was great but after about a year or so of very light use the nonstick coating began to stop working properly, despite having taken great care of the pan. As other reviews have said, after taking this up with the company I was told the non stick pans only last a couple of years! Which is ridiculous given the price point. And there was no mention of this prior to purchase on the website. Made In only have a one year warranty whereas other companies like Green Pan for example have a five year warranty. I was fobbed off by Made In with a 20% discount on a future purchase. Rest assured, there will be no future purchases! This has left me feeling like I’ve been ripped off.

8 separate deliveries, 8 damaged or defective items delivered.

8 separate deliveries, 8 damaged or defective items delivered.

The customer service can take sometimes 4 days to get back.
Often with 1 single response and silence again for days.
No phone number to speak to someone.

The pans get delivered warped, dents in the bases, twisted handles, scratches, manufacture defects.

They cannot even provide suitable return labels for the defective items they ship.

Their use of packaging, the boxes are too small for the items inside, so the boxes wobble and bulge, and the delivery company used, means any products that may get shipped with out manufacturing defects, will still arrive with bent grips and handles, dents in the bases.

This is not just one design or pan, it’s multiple ones, all the same defects and arriving damaged.

They look nice, however, I would shop at one of their competitors.
