Exceeding Expectations
I went to Macbeath Hardwood to look for trim for a project I was doing. Although Macbeath's has a huge selection of quality hardwood, I didn't see anything close to my needs. Walking into the office, I was greeted by the shop foreman, Sean (Shawn?). He listened to my needs, looked at a photo of my project, took a few notes, and said they could mill a piece for me.
The milling involved rip cutting, planing the strips, and sanding to a smooth finish. When I went to pick it up, they had milled five - not one, and the strips of clear oak were exactly what I wanted.
After paying for the work, I waited in the warehouse for someone to bring me the wood. When I saw how well it had been milled, I went back to the office to tell them they had not charged me enough. They employee at the desk looked up my ticket and said that I had paid the correct amount.
