This course is not superficial, generic, or commercially diluted. It is precise, anatomically grounded, and clinically disciplined. The teaching delivers an in depth understanding of lymphatic anatomy, physiology, and pathology, alongside clear guidance on indications, contraindications, and most importantly clinical reasoning. Each technique is taught with clarity, purpose, and justification. Nothing is performed without rationale, and nothing is taught as routine without explanation.

The structure of the training demands focus, accountability, and genuine engagement with the material. Theory is not treated as optional or secondary; it forms the foundation for safe and effective practice. This depth of education reinforces the seriousness of lymphatic work and the responsibility that comes with treating complex or medically sensitive clients.

As a practitioner, the training has given me something invaluable: certainty. Certainty in assessment, certainty in technique selection, and certainty in knowing when not to treat or how to modify safely. This level of clarity fundamentally changes how one approaches clinical decision making. The Dr Vodder method teaches restraint, accuracy, and deep respect for physiology qualities that clearly distinguish true clinical practice from general massage or symptom driven approaches.

I completed this course back in October in Edinburgh . It was a completely new venture for me , completely out of my comfort zone . However I am so pleased I did it , it was 100% worth it , and I am really proud of myself for the achievement . It was tough going for sure . The theory , practical , and exam were not easy , and at times it was very overwhelming but I can’t speak highly enough of Shelley , she was an amazing and supportive tutor . She somehow managed within no time at all , to pick up on everyone’s different way of learning , it was interesting to watch, she seemed to know exactly what worked for us individually and she did it well. Shelley’s explanations and analogies during the online tutorials and the practice days were so helpful for understanding a very interesting but complex subject . I would highly recommended this course and my next step is the Dr Vodder Level 3 next year which I’m a little apprehensive about but also very excited about too !

I have done this course before many years ago with another trainer and needed to review it. I knew how hard it was going to be but was pleasantly surprised at how well Shelley broke it down for us to be able to understand as best we could. It really is not for the feint hearted but well worth doing if this is an area you are interested in as it really works wonders and will help your client base grow.

The amount of time and attention given to practical on these practical days, Shelley made sure that everyone had as much practice as possible and was there to help everyone with their techniques. It was good to be able to be focused all of the time rather than say have breaks in the pace

I previously did a one day MLD course and although the treatment helped some clients, I didn't think I had enough knowledge. As soon as I started the Vodder Level 1 theory I realised that was correct. This is a serious course. The detailed anatomy, physiology and pathology was tough but so important to know. The practice and assessment days were again heavy in terms of quantity of new information, but we learned really good new techniques and routines. I would certainly recommend this course as a gold standard in MLD, and the trainer Shelley Young Kong was excellent. She helped to turn the theory into easier language to remember, and her instruction and support with the practical techniques and routines was brilliant. There was also a lot of fun and laughter with lovely fellow therapists. I thought this course was so good that I intend to continue through Levels 2 and 3.

Shelley the instructor was superb, extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Shelley has a fabulous ability to take a complex subject and make it understandable.
No question was left unanswered.
I enjoyed the learning environment and will definitely be back to continue learning.

I’ve just completed my level 1 Dr Vodder training with Shelley Young Kong in Edinburgh. The training was intense and delivered excellently over 4 days with a 5th day of examination. I want to be able to offer a ‘gold standard’ of MLD in my clinic so chose Dr Vodder training and the course did not disappoint. For me, the trainer made the course exceptional. Totally professional throughout. I was impressed with the delivery accommodating all learning styles. A mix of visuals, note taking, lectures, theory exam, oral discussions, videos and lots of hands on practical practice. I was advised of which manuals to purchase to back up my learning for the course and the weekly zoom classes were excellent and well delivered. The course may seem expensive but you most definitely get what you paid for. I’ve completed numerous MLD courses and this one was by far the most in-depth, very informative and a whole different level of learning what lymphatic drainage entails. The theory was intense and is what sets this course apart from many others. I’ve learnt a whole different way of applying the lymphatic drainage techniques and have already implemented them into my clinical treatments. I will most definitely be completing the next level of courses based on my learning experience.

This training have changed forever the way I treat clients in my clinic. I am a holistic facialist and within the beauty industry we are seeing too much therapist practising what they call lymphatic drainage which isn't. I am really proud of having learned the safest way to treat my client, either for skin health or to help them ease pain from clenched jaw or headaches and even reduce stress level. Shelley is by far the most knowledgeable teacher I have ever met. Her real passion for lymphatic health made this course even more interesting. The theory is really intense but that's necessary to become the best therapist out there and most importantly to practice SAFELY ! I highly recommend that school for MLD.

Shelley’s MLD training is of such high quality, I can’t recommend it highly enough. The theory course beforehand is incredibly thorough and well supported. The hands on training week was so enjoyable. Shelley makes sure every routine is understood and practised over and over. The exam day is also well set up, Shelley is calm, knowledgeable and supportive thought out. 10/10.

The attention to detail from this course is unparaller. You learn a lot both on the theoretical side and be practical side. Of course, it’s a privilege to be learning the official Vodder techniques too.

Shelley is one of those rare individuals who is simply so easy to like. She instantly makes you feel at ease and has a truly unique way of helping you relax and be yourself. I always received feedback that was kind and constructive, and if I still struggled different approaches were offered until the outcome was achieved.
The Skills Assessment refined the techniques through discussion and the practicing over and over again of small details. It allowed us to bring back to the tutor issues we might have discovered out in the real world! Even after all of this, a follow-up online tutorial was also offered which meant that I never felt that I was on my own.
What I found outstanding was that our tutor was so approachable and available, that she was personally invested in ensuring every one of us was able to understand and carry out the techniques and MLD routines correctly, problem-solving constantly to fit with personal circumstances, always giving advice, information and sharing her very wide, interesting and applicable experiences.

I undertook my Level 1 MLD training with Shelley. She is extremely knowledgeable and spent time helping us to understand the anatomy and physiology involved in the lymphatic system. This all helped us to apply that knowledge into practice and to pass our exam. Shelley did a series of zoom sessions where she explained the anatomy and physiology and answered any of our questions. Shelley was patient with us and spent time demonstrating and helping us to master the techniques. If this didn't happen straight off she would help break down moves to enable us to be able to perform the techniques correctly. She also assisted us on our level 2 training which was invaluable. Her teaching style is approachable and she makes sure we were gaining the understanding and practice to not only pass our courses but to be able to put them into practice moving on. Fantastic Level1 Dr Vodder Manual Lymphatic Drainage course with Shelley. The whole experience has been great from tutorials online to massage technique in practice. The course was very informative. They are very specific techniques to be delivered in a very specific way, but the course is well structured to take you through, step by step, and Shelley is an amazing tutor.
