The calmness and the quality of the music. Relaxing evening and efficient organization.
The microphone for the speaker was not clear at all and she needed a table to put the microphone on...not the floor. Was a bit too warm after 40 minutes, the music was still GREAT.
The performance itself was fantastic but the lack of a working microphone made it very difficult to hear the spokesperson tell us about the music. I have very good hearing & I ad a little problem, but my cohorts with hearing issues weren’t able to hear her.
First of all, our emails (to CustomerService at Lumos-experiences.com) went unanswered. We were trying to ascertain if the seats were assigned? We were asking questions about why our Promo Code (Welcome15) wasn't honored (we didn't receive 15% off)? Your website leaves MUCH to be desired. nowhere does it state that there will be 2 (amateur) violinists & a cellist playing BEATLES music, NOT guitarists & a drummer? No vocalist(s)? Was this a joke?

Excellent music really enjoyed the evening 👌 👍 😀
Unfortunately, we had a last minute change and could not attend. The website clearly states, “tickets can be easily transferred to another show” when I reached out to Lumos, they told me I could give the tickets to another person, but they were not transferable to another show. They understood that this “could be confusing”. Nothing confusing about it. Out $70 and never saw the show.

Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. we purchased three tickets (2 Gold & 1 Silver) for the earlier show. The show was canceled an hour and a half before hand and merged with the later show. We were seated in the back (even-though we paid for upfront seating) and could not see anything. The candle light performance only had candles down the center isle and the lights were left on for 1/2 the performance. For what could have been a beautiful setting and ambiance, it was very disappointing. The music itself was okay, but not brilliant.

Review of Lumos 3 piece candle light concert at Pershore Abbey 3Ist July 2026
Very enjoyable concert in a great venue. The historic Abbey itself is small enough for such a concert to feel reasonably intimate and the "candlelight" added to the ambience.
This was an hour long concert featuring a selection of popular pieces from Mozart and Vivaldi and the musicianship was excellent, especially that of the lead violinist (if that's the correct term😁). I'm not particularly knowledgeable about "classical" music but found the arrangements for a trio very effective. The sound quality -at least from where we were sitting-was very good so no problems acoustically. The introductions to some pieces and light-hearted banter were enjoyable although the only small issue was that using a hand held microphone, this could sometimes be a little unclear and difficult to hear. Perhaps also providing just a brief A5 programme might be an idea?
The staff from both the Abbey itself and from Lumos were without exception very welcoming and helpful. With a car park just opposite, access to the venue was straight forward and quite easy for wheel chair users or those with poorer mobility. Would thoroughly recommend.
I attended last nights performance of Coldplay at Dedham church. It was quite frankly a complete disaster and utterly disappointing. Like others, we had organised our evening around the performance and arrived 15 minutes early at 6:45pm, which at first were worried about not leaving enough time, only to find some church representatives giving people cups of tea and no sign of a performance taking place. Apparently an email was sent which I wouldn’t have received as not only is Dedham renowned for having terrible signal but we were enjoying a lovely meal in the local pub beforehand so wouldn’t have looked at an email.
After some discussion with other people who were there already we established that it was going to be quite some time until it got going (8:30pm) as you can imagine with two younger children aged 10 it was unreasonable to expect them to sit on pews for almost two hours waiting for it all to be set up etc. so one of us took them to the playground whilst the other stayed put.
We had purposely sat 4 rows from the front knowing that the first two rows were platinum tickets and so left a third row in case we had misjudged it. When Lumos arrived, no one said a single thing about seating or came and spoke to us about what had happened or even apologised about everything. We sat there for almost an hour whilst the set up until the seats behind us were starting to fill up only to be asked to move! The poor people in the opposite row that had paid for gold and were in the right section for their tickets, were forced to move further back, but we refused on the basis that the only seats now left were right at the back of the church!! The whole thing was a shambles and from the start the seating should’ve been clearly marked or the staff should’ve notified us when they arrived. Or they should’ve asked the whole church of people to move back two rows.
By the time the show started it felt really uncomfortable and the mood had well and truly been killed. The door was opening and shutting and we were on edge thinking we were going to lose our seats every time they sent someone to the front. As others have said, the lights weren’t turned off until after the performance started, they didn’t introduce themselves until the END of the show and throughout it felt really clumsy and disconnected when they spoke and addressed the audience, often they were talking amongst themselves. The concert then went beyond the finish time of 9:30pm right up to 9:50pm which normally I’d appreciate but by that point majority of people had lost the will to live. The church was roasting hot as we were all crammed in like sardines and our children bored and fidgety. Some people left midway through as I can only assume they had plans.
Both my daughter and I have been to two candlelight by fever performances with a string quartet in Ipswich in the church by the harbour and they were incredible. They brought tears to our eyes they were so amazing. They really connected with the audience and even made reference to how young my daughter was (she was 8 or 9 at the time) so we were thrilled to find out a more local performance was happening. Sadly I would not recommend this company again and am really disappointed with the whole thing. If I wasn’t so fed up last night I’d have asked for a refund but I’d rather Just forget it ever happened.

A great hour of Beatles classics reimagined in a beautiful space. Who knew “Yellow Submarine” could sound so good in a string arrangement? The only problem was that the microphone being used for the announcements between songs didn’t seem to work well, but maybe that was fixed for the second show. All in all, a delightful performance.
I've been wowed by past lumos performances. This one was disappointing. The music was performed well. But the PA system left the announcer's works garbled. And the concert was scheduled before dark, so the magic of all that candlelight was spoiled by having to compete with the sun.

It all begins with the enchanting candlelight environment and then shoots to the moon from there. Musicians were accomplished and first-rate entertaining. Selections went from peacefully lovely to lively, familiar, and upbeat. As an elder with this church, I canvassed audience members as they exited and found my reaction to be universal among them. Hope to host you here again in the near future.
The talents of the stringed instrument players were phenomenal. The Beatles songs were clear and recognizable, and I silently sang along with them. The tranquil setting was perfect. Wasn’t sure he would, but my husband even loved it. Looking forward to another experience. Probably a classical venue. Thank you for making these programs available.
Unfortunately this did not live up the experience I was expecting.
We attended the parish church in Dedham Essex on 31/7/26 at 1830 for the 1900 performance.
On arrival we were informed by a member of the church team that there would be a two hour delay until 20.30 before anything would start due to some technical issues affecting the company. She added that we would be combined with the 21.00 performance. Several people shared concerns about how we would all fit in. She is not connected to the company and was unable to provide any further assistance.
Several people decided to leave as they had other plans after the original show time.
We decided to go for a walk locally and return around 20.00 by which time the team had arrived and were unloading their van.
They hastily put out the candles, mostly on the floor and even though we were seated in the gold section, we couldn’t see these from our seats. A few were placed on the pulpit.
Once the team were satisfied with their results they then tried to move people from their seats that some had occupied for two hours waiting patiently. This was met with a lot of anger and resistance, creating an uneasy atmosphere.
When the musicians took their places, some candles had to be moved got them to place their music stands and they were only one small step higher than the audience so impossible for anyone behind the front row rows to get a clear view.
However, the musicians played extremely well and this was very entertaining and enjoyable. This is the only reason I give the evening 3 stars. Unfortunately they were not as confident using the PA system.
Having seen your promotional material on line, the churches have the candles surround the artists and they are on a raised platform and easily seen from the audience. This aspect has nothing to do with the delayed performance unless the team didn’t have all their equipment due to what we later learned was a vehicle break down and should be considered for future.
If it wasn’t for the musicians I would probably have been requesting a refund today but I felt that in the circumstances they were not responsible and were available to play at the stated times.

Show started 15 minutes late, no announcement as to why, speaker system was poor, could not hear the musicians being introduced. Would pass on ever going again.

The atmosphere, the music and the brilliant performers made it a truly beautiful & memorable evening. Pershore Abbey was a great venue, even with the hard seating !
They changed last minute to 1 performance instead of the scheduled 2 so our at the front gold ticket meant now alot further back and new scheduled time meant booked dinner plans messed up.
The musicians played ok but only 4 there i expected more and very amateurish set up introductions and play list seemed un rehersed as awkward mutterings and silences between the songs.
The music Seemed to be very repetative and for the experiance very over priced.
Seating was unconfortable on wooden pews.
Some People left early as could not sit comfotably and although the performer anounced that this would be the last official song performance but they may play a couple more ,we along with alot of people left as soon polightly possible.
Very dissapointed with whole experience.

Dedham Church performance:
No organisation whatsoever I’ve been to school recitals that were more capable and organised than this company. First of all, we arrived 20 minutes before the scheduled 7pm performance only to be told by the tea lady that there was a “logistics problem “ and that the 7 pm show was now going to be combined with the 8pm show which tells me what more than likely happened was poor sales for one show as there were no shortage of seats for the eventual performance.
Musicians were talented but lacked a connection with the audience and seemed very nervous to speak I think they probably would e best suited to a wedding reception.
Overall: incredibly disappointed and I would not recommend this company.

From the very pleasant and friendly reception we had to the amazing musicians the whole evening was outstanding.
There were issues setting up the venue, so two groups put together. Fabulous music
Please see my review- partial refund requested.- feedback to Lumos
I request a refund of the event at Dedham church on 31/07/26.
This evening ( our first - and last- with lumos) was very disappointing.
The evening started early.
Communication came via a different email that went to spam.
We ended up in a restricted ( poor ) view. Not the Gold Seat we paid for .
The event was not candle lit as advertised.
The music was ok but not as we expected given the cost.
I look forward to hearing back from you
Thank you
Ruth Davies
PS. Customer services ‘Elizabeth’ is a chat bot. That gives a standard ‘we can’t give any refund as your complaint is after the event’ T&C’s etc. ! So clearly we should have complained beforehand.
Numerous x1* reviews about misleading advertising . I’m not at all clear that T&Cs allow you to circumvent advertising standards.
PPS. Looks like it’s dispute with the card company or complain to trading standards as not the tickets/ seating we paid for. Address for trading standards complaint is via citizens advice website. Unable to post the link here.
3.8.26: I really don’t think ‘We’re sorry that we didn’t provide the service that we advertised ‘ cuts much ice. We paid extra for a seat that we didn’t receive which you acknowledge. Seems you don’t understand UK consumer law. Will be seeking redress through other means.
We will certainly not be taking up your offer of a free ticket elsewhere. The ‘Magical Experience’ was not worth travelling for.
