Whirpool smelled like stinky socks in my opinion.
I strongly advise against booking this villa in Catania. The overall condition of the property is extremely poor. The air conditioning did not work from the beginning, and even after a technician came (an hour late), it still barely functioned. The thermostats don’t work properly either, making it impossible to cool the rooms.
The so-called whirlpool is absolutely disgusting – every time the jets run, it releases a foul smell like old socks, and the water never gets warm. In fact, hot water is a problem throughout the entire villa.
The place is also in shocking disrepair. Electrical and water pipes are left exposed, the walls are unfinished, and there are multiple mold stains both on the walls and the ceiling. This is not only ugly but also unhealthy.
We originally booked this villa because of the pool, but even that was a major disappointment. The structure is falling apart to the point where parts of the inner lining seem to come loose.
On top of all this, the company we booked through was extremely uncooperative. Several staff members came to the villa to attempt repairs. They were very kind and even told us that given all the problems, we might be entitled to a partial refund. However, when we raised this directly with the manager, he completely refused any form of compensation. Because of this, we are now considering legal action once we are back in Germany.
In summary: this villa is not worth the money, not comfortable, and not properly maintained. The way the management handles complaints makes the whole experience even worse. Avoid at all costs.
