Not 100% Gluten Free

I was so happy with the mini love free kids box but unfortunately out of curiosity I read the ingredients of the gnaw hot chocolate spoon that was in there and it does say may contain gluten. As for my daughter being coeliac she cant have it. I wish this wasn't the case as I was so happy with the subscription but I just feel its not safe for my daughter and will therefore unsubscibe. May contain is not something we can take risks with her having coeliac disease that can make her really poorly if she eats it.

Hi Danielle,

The brand- Gnaw, have reassured us that their allergen handling procedures are extremely thorough. They operate to very high standards, with full clean downs carried out after any handling or production involving allergen ingredients. Products that do not contain gluten are kept separate and are not produced in direct contact with gluten containing products.
Because gluten is present elsewhere on site, the manufacturer includes a precautionary “may contain” warning as an extra safety measure.
We understand how important this is for our customers and always aim to be as transparent as possible.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to let us know

It arrived well packaged and in pretty good condition. Didn't like much of what was in the box. You got 2 main items. For me a bottle of avocado oil and some soy sauce. The rest was small item. More for you to sample, with the idea if you like you will buy more.
The items are really expensive to buy or in my case not buy. Will give in one more try to see if I just got a bad week. After all we can't all like everything.

Personal taste

Brought my daughter a gluten-free box,
There was a variety of bits from drinks, paste, and crisps.
Unfortunately, the bread, ran out on the day She opened the present.
This isn’t their fault, but I didn’t realise there would be food in there that would run out of date so quick.
To be honest, she probably won’t use half the stuff in there.
She doesn’t drink oat milk, as she’s gluten-free and can have rregular milk.
I feel it was overpriced for what is in it. I think maybe someone else would get more from this.
It was a real effort to cancel the subscription, as we only wanted one box to try .

The variety in the box is great!

The variety in the box is great!

Obviously you don't know what you're going to get each month, but the variety, between sweet, savoury, healthier and less healthier is great.
And it makes you discover products you wouldn't know about otherwise.

Brilliant box!

Incredible idea, brilliant boxes and the founders are lovely. You can choose between several different dietary requirements, or combinations of requirements. There’s also a snack-only box (office perks) if you specifically want bits for on the go.

The boxes come packed with all sorts - treats, snacks, ingredients to help you make new meals and some drinks to try. It’s a mixture or large brands that most gf people have heard of as well as lots of smaller brands to discover. My box had a good mix of things I already know I like and new bits to try.

The real standout for me is that they include recipes, and not just for the obvious things. I had a jar of sauce, drinks and snacks in my box. The recipe card suggested a recipe to use the sauce, but also had recipes to turn the drink into a sorbet and used the nuts in a dish rather than just snacking.

It’s a brilliant box for both new and experienced gluten free eaters. I loved the gluten free box that I received, although I enjoy cooking from scratch, making the same recipes & batch cooking so I think I’d go for the snack-only box next time as I always end up hungry mid-afternoon with nothing to have. If you struggle for inspiration with meals then I’d recommend the full box.

Either way, I wasn’t sure what to expect and was seriously impressed!

Well worth the money and a lovely surprise each mont.

I was unsure about getting this box based on some negative reviews but thought I would give it a go and see for myself. I am so pleased I did. I love the boxes and think the contents are wonderful value for money. It is so hard to find gluten and dairy free products so this is great.

It's a good idea, but!

It's a good idea, however there were too many snacks like chocolate that I can buy at supermarkets, I was hoping for food I had one packet of cereal the rest was drink and snacks, not for me I'm trying to watch my weight.

Hi Trisha,
We are sorry to hear this. We are predominately a discovery snack box, whilst we do include some food items as well

The concept is brilliant, but boxes are a bit hit & miss unfortunately

As soon as I saw this I thought wow, I’ll sign up. My daughter is coeliac and I knew she would love this! Unfortunately the boxes have been a bit hit & miss. Previous months we have had snacks that have been damaged or left the factory faulty, we’ve had items that I wouldn’t specifically choose for a 5 year old (cereal, adult type crisps) but my most concerning issue is the fact the dates are not long enough. In Last month’s box, we had a little chocolate bar and by the time we’d had everything else included in the box, the expiry date had run out! I’ve noticed this quite a lot in the boxes, so if the guys @ love free from could ensure longer dates are included on the selected items that would be fab!

Hi Charlotte,

Thank you for your feedback I will pass this on :)
We do team up with brands to use shorter dated stock so as to reduce wastage, we always try to ensure there is a few weeks on these though.

I ordered a gluten free box

I ordered a gluten free box, but most of the items are also vegan, which I can’t stand! I haven’t tried a single dairy free product that I like. I know they say it’s a discovery box, but all it’s doing is confirming how much I hate dairy free products! I also appear to be missing an item in my box. I’ve tried to contact the company via Facebook and instagram and have had no response. To me, when parting with my money with any company, customer service is very important. Their customer service doesn’t seem to be great and the fact I’m missing a product and still haven’t had a response doesn’t sit well with me. I think I’ll be cancelling after my first box, sadly. I’m very disappointed. My box was also quite badly damaged, so maybe they might want to consider using a different courier to Royal Mail.

Hi there, we are sorry to hear you were disappointed.

We are finding these days most gluten free products on the market are also vegan in order to cater for more people and to allow more people to enjoy them. We still get some great feedback on these products and as it is a discovery box there will be some products you may not like but the products do change from month to month.

I have had a look through both Facebook and Instagram and can’t seem to find any contact from you, please could you send this through to us on email at hello@lovefreefrom.co.uk where someone will get back to you as soon as possible. The products vary from box to box so you may not be missing one you may have received a different one; but we will get this sorted for you.

Thank you for your feedback.
