Initiative to help garment workers impacted by Covid. Lost Stock allows shoppers to buy a mystery box of clothes cancelled by leading brands and retailers. For every box bought a garment worker and her family for a week through the Bangladeshi NGO, Sajida Foundation. This initiative was set up in May 2020 in response to $2bn of clothes being cancelled by leading brands with no payments being made to factories. In 7 months 125,000 boxes were sold, surpassing the initial target of 10,000. To do this a new global supply chain was built during a pandemic from scratch.

Never got my delivery
I waited... And waited..... And waited.
Received a few updates from lost stock as to the progress of my order. I was expecting 6 weeks at worst. 6 months later nothing had arrived. Eventually I was told 7 months after I made the order that it was due to arrive. By this time I had moved house. I tried to change the delivery location with lost stock, I was told this would no longer be possible and the product never arrived 😦

Donate your money elsewhere if you want to help.
I ordered my lost stock box in June. I received it in November.
3 cheap thin tops barely more than vests. Would never have paid £35 for them had I seen them, £20 perhaps. At a stretch. I don't know where they got the value of £70 from, never in a million years would I have paid £70 for these. I just hope my money has actually helped someone, and not just lined the pockets of this company.

Very disappointed
I'm no good at writing a reviews. But I was so upset about my experience, I feel the need to.
I ended up with 3 of the matalan tops, the vest priced at £5, 2 tops priced in the £10/£12 region and a Debenhams top. Definitely not worth the money spent never mind the £70 they advertised.
At the same time I also ordered a mens box for my husband, he got 2 cheap thin t-shirts and a ill fitting denim shirt.
I feel cheated, I also feel lost stock cheated the workers, as I believe only £18 of the £77.98 I spent was given to the charity.
Would have much rather donated all money spent directly to the charity.

Lost stock? No thanks.
Ordered in May for my 14 year old as a treat, having seen it advised that the clothes would be from places like Topshop. This was before the kids boxes so we chose an Under 16s box with graphics/slogans.
A mere 12/13 weeks later (rather than the 6-8 advertised) the bag arrived and we opened it excitedly. The clothes inside would have been more suitable for a middle aged woman and in fact, that exact ‘box’ was shipped to people in every age range.
I contacted the company to express my dismay at the selection sent to be told they were sorry I was disappointed and I could return them for a refund but only all of them. As I’d successfully swapped an item with someone online (paying out yet more in postage) this was not an option.
While I wanted to support the charity, I also wanted to treat my daughter to some cool clothes. The clothes received absolutely did not fit the bill and I’ve spent in excess of £45 to be left with items she simply won’t wear at a time where every penny counts. It’s disgraceful that a company can allow you to select preferences then disregard them with no explanation and simply expect you to put up with it.

Poor ethics from this 'charitable' company
I received some basic items, not what was promised in terms of style or value. I swapped one of my items with another customer but it's all still underwhelming.
The way they've treated people over this is an absolute nightmare, some waiting months and months to receive their items and others receiving extremely cheap tops when we were all promised £70 RRP. I'd donate directly to charity next time.
In comparison, I was lucky but not happy, hence the 2 stars.

Order #95958
I placed an order for two boxes (one male and one female) on 15th July 2020, the first box took 3 1/2 months to arrive (delivered on 30th October), the second took 5 months to arrive (delivered on 11th December). In the male box were 3 cotton t-shirts that I cannot believe were worth a total retail value of £70. The female box had 2 tops and a camisole/vest type top, not at all suitable to wear in autumn and winter and none of them were flattering, again I would not have paid £70 for them in retail. I was just really disappointed as I thought the idea was amazing but to receive summer clothes in autumn/winter was pointless and the quality of the clothing received was poor.

I wanted to love this...
I was so disheartened by the time I actually received my items and they definitely were not worth the wait. I ordered my 'box' in May and didn't receive my items until December. I understand the hardship with covid etc but I received several notifications where I had to confirm my address for shipment and then nothing arrived- following these I chased with the support team and was offered several excuses but no luck on actually getting my items. When the items came they weren't great but I already felt let down by the whole situation more than anything. I ended up keeping one item and giving the rest to the clothes bank. I really wanted to support this initiative and while I think it had good intentions the handling was pretty awful with people getting boxes before me even though they had ordered much later.

No parcel after 5 months
5 months - no parcel. Any social media query deemed negative deleted to hide the true picture.
2nd June I ordered my lucky dip parcel of designer summer clothes. £70 value for £35 + £3.99 p+p with potential wait advertised as 6-8 weeks.
When nothing arrived I contacted twice and was told each time it was being packed and I would get a tracking number the following week.
In the autumn I raised a PayPal complaint as I still had no news. When PayPal contacted Lost Stock miraculously a tracking number appeared however weeks later it still hadn't moved. 30th October PayPal refunded me.
Behind this purchase was a charity donation to support clothing workers. I would have been better cutting out the middleman - Lost Stock and donating direct.
During this process I posted a couple of queries asking what was happening on their FB page only to find my query deleted without answer. One question was simply asking - as my parcel was delayed had the proportion of my monies allocated to the linked charity been paid or delayed. - Query deleted - me blocked!!
Shady dealers I'm so glad I paid with PayPal and was refunded.

My biggest concern is the removal of genuine comment and one star reviews from a different platform to which they have access to do so (including on of mine) to manipulate the public perception of the company.

Order #64976
Order #64976. I received a bag of poor quality, ill fitting summer tops nearly 6 months after I placed my order. I raised a dispute through PayPal for a refund. Lost Stock did not engage with the PayPal process so I was refunded. Avoid this company they are no better than the scam sites on social media. There are far better ways to donate to the Bangladesh workers.

The worst service I have ever received…
The worst service I have ever received from a company. I waited 6 months for a bundle of summer clothes to arrive. And the ‘winter bundle’ I ordered was full of crop-tops and summer rejects. Sizes were all over the place and the quality was nowhere near what was promised. False advertising in this way really is appalling.

Very Disappointed
Ordered a box in May 2020 to help the textile workers so I wasn’t too bothered that delivery took 4 months rather than the promised 8 weeks. However, the three cheap Matalan tops that arrived were really disappointing. Hardly the £70 worth of designer clothes that were promised. Wouldn’t buy again.

I wasn’t so bothered by the time it…
I wasn’t so bothered by the time it took to get order, but the clothes delivered were poor quality and not even appropriate for the age group and style I selected, and in no possible way were they worth the advertised £70. Shame as the concept was great.

Disappointed
Disappointed. Massive delay on delivery. Poor quality of clothes, I asked for plain dark colours and received a horrid floral vest and a bright red floral cropped shirt. Overall poor experience

Extremely poor
I ordered a box in May, when it was supposed to take 6-8 weeks for delivery. Despite a lot of promises, by October, it still wasn't with me. I asked for a refund which they claimed wasn't possible because it was in transit. By November, it still hadn't arrived so I got a refund via PayPal.
The box did eventually turn up and he clothing was very low quality.
I understand that this was a new venture and that logistics during the pandemic were challenging but I don't understand why this company's communication was so poor. If they had told me up front that it could be up to 8 months before I would receive my order, I could have made my own decision, rather than continuously lying to me about when it would arrive.

Terrible and a scam. Don’t do it.
Terrible. Took months and month to arrive and what did arrive was disgraceful. A full length dress that belonged in 1980’s; no high street shop would sell this item, and 3 tops from Matalan. Terrible experience and a complete waste of money. All items went to the charity shop. I’d have been better just giving the money to charity then I’d actually believe it was helping someone.

Feeling ripped off
Left feeling ripped off. Bought a box for my sons 16th, couldn’t afford £70 of stuff myself so this seemed like a great idea. Totally not worth £70 or personalised for age and style as advertised- he got two very ugly denim shirts the same as some men in their 50’s. he hated them and I wasn’t allowed to return for a full refund. Surely they’re not allowed to refuse a return and not refund money? Spend your hard earned money somewhere else or if your doing it for charity, donate direct!

Disappointed from Northumberland
I signed up for a lost stock box in May, loving the idea of helping the garment trade especially after seeing the slums in India where everyone worked so hard.... So to help Bangladesh workers seems a wonderful idea.
I also loved the idea of clothes I wouldn't normally have bought, and wasn't really expecting to love them all, but thought whatever arrived would be good quality. Again after seeing what was made in India, and what Lost stock had mentioned in their initial adverts, I was expecting high end high street.
It finally arrived..... Much longer than the stated 6 weeks.... With very little communication, but being in the middle of a pandemic I didn't mind that too much, I joined various social media site for revealing and swapping which was fun to watch but I was a little worried about the clothes I was seeing....
And how disappointed I was.... Nothing was size appropriate and definitely wasn't high end high street...
The journey my box took seemed unbelievable and I had 2 items from China....
Not what I signed up for...
Very disappointed

Undervalue bag and tardy delivery
I ordered a mystery bag advertised at £70 worth of clothes for £35. The items I received weren’t worth £70, they were found online for £35. The company were ok with giving a refund via a PayPal claim but I am shocked at the tardy delivery (10+ weeks) and the low quality and value of the contents.
Avoid this company and donate to charity and shop local.

The wait was ridiculous
The wait was ridiculous, the clothes were cheap and awful and not at all what I'd chosen or what had been promised. Really really disappointed, and embarrassed to have recommended it to family and friends.

Avoid!
False advertising, you do not receive the value and quality of clothes promised! Also be prepared to wait months and months for your ugly, low quality clothes. If you want to support charity just donate directly. The 5 star reviews here are very suspicious!
