No Technicians in our Area!

We took out GAP and minor bodywork damage insurance on our lease car.
Claimed 3 weeks ago for a very small (5cm) round dent in passenger door and minor scratch to rear of mirror.
After almost 2 weeks they told us they don't have any technicians in our area (Falkirk) and have agreed we can "find our own" but they must be VAT registered and under £150 in total.
I have 2 contacts but neither are VAT registered - waiting to hear if they will see reason and use these reputable sole traders (both of whom regularly contract to major dealerships).
Absolutely horrible experience!
