Picking up the booked car went smoothly. The return went quickly.

Even though it was a last-minute booking and the price was high, the experience was good. Everything went well and as expected.

Extremely disappointing experience with Locauto. I was refused a rental because my driver's license had minor physical damage, even though it was valid and all the information was clearly readable. I understand the importance of following company policies, but I expected some common sense and a more balanced evaluation of the situation.
As a direct result of this decision, I lost approximately €1,200 in travel arrangements, reservations, and other expenses that I was unable to recover. This significant financial loss could have been avoided with a more customer-focused approach.
In addition, the service provided by Manuela was cold, unhelpful, and showed no willingness to look for a solution or demonstrate any understanding. I was made to feel like a problem rather than a valued customer.
I cannot recommend Locauto and will certainly choose other rental companies in the future.

Esperienza estremamente deludente con Locauto. Mi è stato rifiutato il noleggio perché la mia patente presentava un piccolo danno fisico, nonostante fosse valida e tutte le informazioni fossero leggibili. Capisco l'importanza delle procedure, ma mi aspettavo un minimo di buon senso e una valutazione più equilibrata della situazione.
A causa di questa decisione ho perso circa 1.200 euro tra prenotazioni, spese di viaggio e costi aggiuntivi che non sono stato in grado di recuperare. È stato un danno economico importante che avrebbe potuto essere evitato con un approccio più orientato al cliente.
Inoltre, il servizio ricevuto da Manuela è stato freddo, poco disponibile e privo di qualsiasi tentativo di trovare una soluzione o di mostrare comprensione. Mi sono sentito completamente abbandonato come cliente.
Non consiglio Locauto e sicuramente mi rivolgerò ad altre compagnie di autonoleggio in futuro.

I booked the car at the desk. Although the car was there and available to collect immediately, the agent did not agree to let me hire the car unless I pay for the full set of extras (full insurance, fuel, cleaning).
It should be my choice which extras to select and pay for.

Professional and very fast

There are two reasons for this low rating:
1. I didn't realize that I had essentially been forced to take out body insurance because the woman spoke very quickly and unclearly in English when I was checking in, and I misunderstood her offer after an early morning flight. I didn't need that insurance at all, and I only found out about it after I received a mail—by which time it was too late to change anything. When you sign a contract, you're essentially signing a blank space on a tablet without knowing how much it will cost you.
2. When you rent a car—especially a more expensive model—you don’t really expect to be charged extra for the built-in navigation system that can’t be turned off. Especially since these days, all smartphones have navigation features that are better than the built-in ones.

As a result, the overpayment amounted to more than 20%-25% of the expected price.

Update: Chiara, thank you for your comment. I apologize about the navigation. It’s true that Roadside Plus isn’t a navigation system, as I initially thought, but rather additional insurance. Yes, it might actually be useful. Nevertheless, in the future, I’d like to stick to the original offer as booked, without any additional options or offers at the time of picking up the car. I’d prefer to receive all options in advance (for example, at the time of booking) so that I can calmly assess whether I need them, rather than at the counter after flying in and standing in line.

We used Locauto for a week-long rental, and the entire experience was fantastic. The pickup and drop-off processes were super simple and fast, with zero hassle or long waits. The Opel car we were given was amazing—clean, comfortable, and a joy to drive the entire week. Checkout was completely straightforward as well. Really pleased with Locauto Group at Cagliari Airport. The staff were friendly and helpful from start to finish, and made the whole pick-up and drop-off process quick and easy. They took the time to advise us properly on the best car extras, without any pushy upselling. The car itself was excellent for the price and more than we expected for what we paid. Would definitely rent from them again.

I Booked a VW Polo over Booking.com. When I try to pick up my rental car they say it’s not Available.Although I have already paid for it !! Then they tell me we don’t got your car yet but you can have another with an extra fee , after discussing they give a other car and tell me i will not get Charged more. Then I wait over an Hour at the counter for the other Car . Then they try to sell me even more insurance , but I telled them I got the full Insurance Package over booking. I drove 300 km an when I refill my tank , I took 35 L!! And in the Bordcomputer stand the Average Consumption was 6 L . That says the Car was not full and I looked on my credit card Bills they booked 90 euros more because they try to charge me for an upgrade. It was the worst Rental Car service i have ever Experienced. Never again

Best car rental company in Italy!

We had a perfect experience! The car was excellent, clean, comfortable, and in perfect condition. The price was simply unbeatable. We compared many rental companies in Italy, and we couldn't find a better price anywhere.

Very professional firm. Very professional workers. Our Country Man Mini was a great choice. This car was very good condition inside and outside. Driving this car was fantastic and safe. The contract was understandable. The employees were helpfull.

I felt I got taken advantage of a bit. I had a certain rate with national but booked the wrong airport. When rebooking I was not permitted to use my corporate rate and got upcharged and forced into insurance. Also the car had some issues that I showed the agent at the return and she offered no compensation for the faulty car.
