Rented in Cagliary returned in Olbia. Great experience at both ends.

I booked the car at the desk. Although the car was there and available to collect immediately, the agent did not agree to let me hire the car unless I pay for the full set of extras (full insurance, fuel, cleaning).
It should be my choice which extras to select and pay for.

Professional and very fast

There are two reasons for this low rating:
1. I didn't realize that I had essentially been forced to take out body insurance because the woman spoke very quickly and unclearly in English when I was checking in, and I misunderstood her offer after an early morning flight. I didn't need that insurance at all, and I only found out about it after I received a mail—by which time it was too late to change anything. When you sign a contract, you're essentially signing a blank space on a tablet without knowing how much it will cost you.
2. When you rent a car—especially a more expensive model—you don’t really expect to be charged extra for the built-in navigation system that can’t be turned off. Especially since these days, all smartphones have navigation features that are better than the built-in ones.

As a result, the overpayment amounted to more than 20%-25% of the expected price.

Update: Chiara, thank you for your comment. I apologize about the navigation. It’s true that Roadside Plus isn’t a navigation system, as I initially thought, but rather additional insurance. Yes, it might actually be useful. Nevertheless, in the future, I’d like to stick to the original offer as booked, without any additional options or offers at the time of picking up the car. I’d prefer to receive all options in advance (for example, at the time of booking) so that I can calmly assess whether I need them, rather than at the counter after flying in and standing in line.

We used Locauto for a week-long rental, and the entire experience was fantastic. The pickup and drop-off processes were super simple and fast, with zero hassle or long waits. The Opel car we were given was amazing—clean, comfortable, and a joy to drive the entire week. Checkout was completely straightforward as well. I Booked a VW Polo over Booking.com. When I try to pick up my rental car they say it’s not Available.Although I have already paid for it !! Then they tell me we don’t got your car yet but you can have another with an extra fee , after discussing they give a other car and tell me i will not get Charged more. Then I wait over an Hour at the counter for the other Car . Then they try to sell me even more insurance , but I telled them I got the full Insurance Package over booking. I drove 300 km an when I refill my tank , I took 35 L!! And in the Bordcomputer stand the Average Consumption was 6 L . That says the Car was not full and I looked on my credit card Bills they booked 90 euros more because they try to charge me for an upgrade. It was the worst Rental Car service i have ever Experienced. Never again

Best car rental company in Italy!

We had a perfect experience! The car was excellent, clean, comfortable, and in perfect condition. The price was simply unbeatable. We compared many rental companies in Italy, and we couldn't find a better price anywhere.

The booking process was easy, the staff was friendly and professional, and everything went smoothly from pickup to return.

Very professional firm. Very professional workers. Our Country Man Mini was a great choice. This car was very good condition inside and outside. Driving this car was fantastic and safe. The contract was understandable. The employees were helpfull.

I felt I got taken advantage of a bit. I had a certain rate with national but booked the wrong airport. When rebooking I was not permitted to use my corporate rate and got upcharged and forced into insurance. Also the car had some issues that I showed the agent at the return and she offered no compensation for the faulty car.

Great cars , quality staff and very quick

Locauto’s service at the airport was fine (just a short wait for the car—about 15 minutes), and returning the car went smoothly as well.
The staff were helpful. The bigger problem was that we booked the car through Discover Cars—it was supposed to be a Peugeot 308 with an automatic transmission. We ended up with a VW Golf with a manual transmission. So, aside from the fact that the customer received a completely different car than the one they booked, everything else was fine.
