The Worst Experience Ever

I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had with LoanMax. I was approved for a car title loan and they issued me a bad check. The 1st day that I got the check, the bank instructed me to deposit it and wait for it to clear for the funds to be available. After a week went by and the check still didn't clear, the bank said LoanMax put a hold on the check so it couldn't be cashed. When the bank saw that there was a hold on the check that was issued from LoanMax, it looked like suspicious activity going on with my account, so the bank closed my account and deactivated my ATM card while they investigated to see if the check was fraudulent. When I called LoanMax to explain what happend, they took absolutely no responsibility and said that what was going on with my bank has nothing to do with them. Instead of helping me by canceling the bad check and issuing me a new one, Loanmax canceled the loan that I was approved for, they put a stop payment on the check and said I'd get my title back in the mail. Even though I was already approved for a loan, they wouldn't work with me. The whole situation caused me so much stress and frustration and it was a complete waste of my time. This company is shady. I'll never go there again.

I called to make a payment

I called to make a payment. Wanting to pay more to get the loan paid down I was told I could only make the minimum. Thats an unfair way to do business due to high interest rates and Loanmax way of getting/stealing from customers. Very unethical way to do business. Making a payment online is set up the same way.

Think ALOT before you go this route

You need to be over prepared for a high interest loan here and I would consider every alternative to avoid places like this. I paid for my account but I did try at least twice to offer a settlement for paid in full but they did not want to consider or even allow a conversation to try and save a little money. They specifically told me the account was not old enough to offer a settlement. Due to the amount of interest you pay here you should encourage settlement offers but I can offer my opinion that they will not because they will want to suck every dollar out of you that they can or will get the best of both worlds and collect a ton of interest and take your vehicle. Place is absurd, I have considered asking for a reconciliation of my account but I am glad I was able to get away from the loan period. Wish they would have at least entertained a small conciliatory amount but they had no interest in that. Interest can get as high as $40 per day which will destroy just about anyone's ability to get away from this loan

DO NOT USE LOAN MAX,LLC FIND ANOTHER…

DO NOT USE LOAN MAX,LLC FIND ANOTHER COMPANY! Unfortunately i took a loan on my car in july 29, 2024 from loan max for $3000.00 Paid off loan sept 9, 24 they charged almost $6,000.00
Called to find out where my title was. Spoke to Unice was her name! Not customer friendly. She lied stating her manager alyssa called on october 3, 20024 at 430p (all my calls are recorded and missed calls are documented.) No calls received. Unice stated she has the title to my car. Even though she states the loan is paid in full. She is holding it and will not send it. when i stated Loan max is fraudulent holding the title and me hostage and i would like to call attorney. Unice hung up on me and blocked my number from calling. Beware they are thieves!

This is a follow-up on my previous…

This is a follow-up on my previous review, expressing my deep frustration with the recent developments in our communication. While I had hoped for progress after our verbal conversation, the subsequent interaction has left me utterly disheartened.
During our recent call to confirm the next payment date and ensure that my account would be up to date, I encountered a disconcerting lack of transparency. The manager stated that the payment would be considered up to date "after you pay, and we will see what date comes up." This ambiguous response raises serious concerns about the reliability of your company's practices.
My attempts to secure written confirmation through messages, emails, or texts have been consistently rebuffed. This unwillingness to put promises in writing only exacerbates the sense of uncertainty and erodes trust in our agreement. As a customer, I find it essential to have a clear understanding of the terms and commitments, which, unfortunately, seems to be lacking in our interactions.
Additionally, the discrepancy in the credited amount further adds to my frustration. If I owe $1247 and a credit of $245 is applied, the resulting balance should be $1002, not $1233 as indicated. Such discrepancies raise serious questions about the accuracy of the financial transactions and further erode my confidence in the handling of my account.
I am now in a precarious situation where the uncertainty surrounding my account puts my vehicle at risk. It is disheartening to find myself in such a position due to what seems to be a deliberate lack of transparency and a refusal to honor written commitments.
At this point, the distress caused by your company's practices has led me to consider seeking legal assistance to address these issues. I sincerely hope that it does not come to that, and we can find a resolution that respects the terms we initially agreed upon.
