LJ Edwards 

This was our third holiday with LJEdwards this year. It’s great to have door to door service. Both the courier and the driver went out of their way to make sure everyone was having a great time. The outings organised were excellent: Alnwick Castle, Lindisfarne, Bamburgh Castle and Beamish. The driver took us along the coastal roads where possible and we were given the right amount of time in each venue. The coach, with the driver, was available to anyone who finished their explorations early.

I have used LJ Edwards, before on days out and would use them again, no real problems, our food and entre to Highgate Cemetery was included with a guided tour, we did arrive a bit late so we were a bit pushed for time to take everything in. On a whole every went well.

My Dad and I booked the Stirlingshire tour. Booking was a breeze, the staff were so helpful when I wanted to add Dad to my booking. We were picked up at our door by LJ Edwards and everything was so well organised. Our driver to Cobham services set the tone by being friendly and informative. We met Ben (driver) and Natasha (courier) at Cobham and they remained with us throughout the holiday. What an asset they are to LJ Edwards, informative, professional and so friendly. They went above and beyond for my Dad and I for which we are extremely grateful. The hotel was basic but clean and the food was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed all the excursions although a little tweaking could be made to timings at some of the destinations. I cannot recommend this company enough, having travelled with bigger national companies this was a much more pleasurable experience. So much so I have booked another holiday with them in October!

What a great holiday my granddaughter and I had in Stirling with this company. Good booking experience. Perfect pick up from home by taxi, transported to Polegate to get the coach then to Cobham to pick up our driver Ben and courier Natasha, on to Stirling. Firstly I have to say that both Ben and Natasha were absolutely brilliant. Good driving and good information from Natasha. Well organised trips out every day. The hotel was lovely, room very clean and food good. Two nights entertainment was very good. The other guests were really friendly and we got on well with them. Cannot fault anything about this trip. It was the first coach trip either of us had been on and would certainly chose them again. Well done Ben and Natasha, they really made our holiday worth the long trip up to Scotland. Madaleen and Izzy.

When with this company because of door to door pickup, unfortunately the air conditioning in the coach wasn’t working correctly, only the first front seats had air conditioning, we were in the seats opposite the toilet. The temperature was about 92f most of the time, a fellow passenger had a thermometer. As a result the heat made me feel very unwell. We also got a whiff of the toilet from time to time. Unfortunately based on our experience, this is the first and last time we will travel with you. This is a shame because the destination and the hotel were fine.

The driver, Ben and the courier, Natasha were very attentive and gave us a very good holiday. We’re especially pleased that they managed to fit in a visit to the actual Ironbridge that wasn’t in the itinerary. Something that we had wanted to see for a long time.
The hotel was excellent and the food was good.
Reduced by one star as no free time allocated. Too much time (5 hours) at the Shugborough Estate?

Had a great time on Edward's "Historic Shropshire & Black Country" holiday. Everyone was very friendly and Ben (driver) and Natasha (courier) looked after us really well, which is especially important when travelling solo. Itinerary was full and always interesting. Hotel and food were both good. I am looking forward to my next holiday with them in July.

Wonderful holiday in Shropshire. Pity so few people on coach, but again made it so friendly. The courier and his wife were fantastic and so kind and caring towards us elderly. Hotel was fine and staff very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would like to go again with this Company. They should advertise more as very good company to travel with.

Went to see ABBA Voyage and was very happy with the trip. The coach driver was very friendly and courteous and pick up was on time. We had a great view from our seats and got there in time to have some food and drinks. Pick up afterwards was very close. All in all a brilliant day out and good value. Would recommend LJ Edwards and use them again.

Disappointing. Coach arrived almost half and hour late for pickup. First driver had to consult satnav and clearly was unfamiliar with the route. Couldn’t fault second driver.
No lavatory paper in the toilet and no water provided for hand washing.

Good driver, Leon. Courier needs more training, seemed unsure and not proactive. Hotel in Chippenham good, food average.Very enjoyable trip overall.

We have just returned from the trip u did to Chippenham. It was very well organised and driver and courier were both lovely and helpful. Hotel was excellent and looked after us really well. The trip to Longleat was fantastic but going to Wells first wasn't long enough to c cathedral so maybe that could b included as another trip maybe Wells in morning and Bath in afternoon. Overall we were very impressed and will definatly use u again.

Driver unsure of pick up points and rang office then rang again for location if coach park while we all sat and waited. This took 20 minutes. We arrived in car park at Dover Castle he told us to wait as he had to pay for us to get in. It took another 10 minutes for him to use the machine! We all ran to keep up with him to entrance then he said they need to know how many over 65 so put hands up he tried to count over and under 65's twice. Then we hadn't separate into two groups so he vould count us. Then he said there was one-two many. He had counted himself! One lady snapped and asked if he needed help with maths and we had provided our ages when booking so it should be on his clipboard. Then he announced he wanted us back at the coach 3.30pm if we were late he would go without us and we would have to wait for someone else to collect us. He said he had driven from Crawley to Eastbourne to pick coach up and was only allowed to drive for a certain number of hours. So we rushed round the Castle only seeing about half of it and no time for a coffee we actually ate our lunch on the return trip. Our coach ride was over 4 hours long our time in the Castle 3 hours 15 minutes we could have stayed longer as the Castle was open till 5pm that day. Why were we penalised for drivers long trip to work being added to his drive times.

Hotel acceptable. Courier had no knowledge of places visited and commentary non existent. Very disappointing. Will not be using again.

This holiday was lovely. We had a very good and obliging young driver in Leon. The hotel was excellent with helpful pleasant staff. The food was good with plenty of choice. The bedroom had every amenity. The only thing missing was a handrail in the walk-in shower. We enjoyed all the trips.
The courier was not feeling well and the only thing she did over the whole holiday was to make a hot drink and hand out some sweets.The rubbish wasn’t emptied and was left in front of the emergency exit. The bin in the toilet wasn’t emptied.

A most enjoyable day on a 3 hour river cruise on the Kentish Lady with fish & chip lunch, tea/coffee/water, fresh fruit included. The driver and courier were pleasant & helpful. Staff on the boat (2) were good too. Can't recommend this trip enough. Would do this trip again.

We had a great time at Bletchley Park on Saturday 23rd September 4 of us travelled from Polegate, our feeder driver was very polite and helpful sorry cant remember his name and we changed drivers at Chobham services, we then had Ian as our driver for the day. The journey was very smooth and he took great pains to make sure we were fully inforned throughout the journey to Bletchley and again on our return. I would fully recommend this excursion and L J Edwards as a company they run on time and their coaches are immaculate. Looking to book again in the future

We had a fabulous driver who was 5 minutes late arriving so apologised but he’d had to wait for something along the line.
Very nice smart friendly man and a great driver, so the trip was very pleasing.

We just did the trip with LJ Edwards to Bideford. The hotel and the food were excellent.
Lee and Dave (Driver) did a good job of looking after us. It was a shame about the boat trip being cancelled by organizers but this was due to the weather and better to be safe than sorry. The trips were good and one could always walk across the bridge to Bideford to fill the time before dinner as we often arrived back at the hotel quite early. The art gallery and museum were well worth a visit.
I was quite anxious before the holiday as I had experienced some problems on the day trips shortly after Ready Tours took cover the old LJ Edwards. However everything went well and being collected from home is just great. Well done.

I was looking for a complete outing as a surprise birthday treat to take a friend. I chose A day trip and River Thames Cruise. It was easy to book and I received confirmation and a follow up when the departure time had been changed and I had to confirm I was aware. We caught the punctual coach at 7:13am and were greeted by a polite and pleasant driver. The coach was clean & the seats were very comfortable, being up high we had good views. Once upon a time whilst pick ups were part of the day, nowadays it seems to make a trip viable the pick ups seemed to range over a wide area and of course it all had to be done in reverse at the end of the day. Eventually, with a less than full coach we headed across Sussex and stopped for a break at Pease Pottage services where refreshments were more reasonably priced than expected. Arriving at Windsor Leisure Centre our boat was mooring up called `Georgiana`. It was great. We sat on the top deck and had views all around whilst the captain provided a commentary which was interesting. On occasions boat trips can be far too short, this was three hours so we really saw some great views of the countryside , swans , magnificent riverside properties etc. Coming back we passed our starting point and turned further along the river and were afforded some splendid views of Windsor Castle from the river. We had been promised an included afternoon tea. My expectations were not high as to how good this would be. It was announced and we went downstairs and it was really splendid in a wood panelled, lit saloon. The tables laid with immaculate table cloths, white china, tea in teapots and it was quality tea. There were dishes of jam and cream. Cutlery was provided. Uniformed staff, polite and welcoming , arrived with tiered cake stands laden with a choice of at least 4 sandwiches, all fresh and delicious, cucumber, salmon, ham and beef , fruit scones and tiny artistic cakes. What a treat and you could see the river views from the table. There was a bar and we purchased cold lagers for a birthday toast and it was permitted to take these onto the top deck to be enjoyed slowly. We traversed Boveney Lock twice which was interesting to observe, saw Windsor race course, a bridge near Eton College, lovely Thames boats and some narrow boats plus some luxury cruisers. All too soon it was time to disembark. The Coach with our second driver Ashley who had taken over at Pease Pottage was waiting for us. Leaving we encountered congested motorways . It became hot in the coach even with the blowers going. Ashley not only had to contend with the traffic but the heat. He pulled into a service area and opened both doors and all the roof hatches and was on the telephone immediately to secure and arrange a replacement vehicle. Some passengers nearly wandered off without waiting for his advice/direction. I suggested we wait. With the increase air it became more comfortable and in congested traffic we headed to Pease Pottage for a break and transfer to another comfortable coach with cool air. Ashley took it all in his stride and we headed home . I enjoyed all the views . It made such a nice change from driving. All the drop offs made it a long journey but as it was daylight, therefore sat back in the comfortable seat to enjoy it all. I would say all the passengers enjoyed it. On the boat as we moved about several pleasant conversations ensued. I am often bemused by other passengers. their comments and fixation, even the older generation with mobile phone screens, and yes it is all personal choice . It was circa 7pm when we got back to Hastings, almost 12 hours later. Did I enjoy the day ? Very much indeed. Thanks to everyone on the boat and especially to Ashley, not a smooth day for him but well handled!
