Was originally pre aproved for a loan…

Was originally pre aproved for a loan at a specific rate. I applied via the offer and got aproved at the offer rate, i picked my direct debit date and was then sent an email with a link to complete the loan and get the money paid to my bank. The link did not work so i contacted Livelend of which they explained various technical issues caused the problem and i had to apply again of which i did but could not use the offer. The new offer came out at a higher interest of which i said no its not my fault your technical issue stopped me completing a loan offer that you aproved and also agreed a payment date. So i stood my ground and made them honour the original offer of which the eventually did. Howether had i not stood my ground they would have happily gone back on it. So be aware, all is not as it seems.

Disappointed!

I had taken out two small loans with live lend. The first loan was OK, no issues. They did what they advertised, reduced the payments rates as my credit score improved. The second loan, they didn't and when I queried about this as my loan was coming to an end, I was given a load of 'bull and who shot Jonh'etc.... I wouldn't recommend anymore no advice anyone to borrow from them. I have one month left to clear and after given the run around about why the rates didn't go down, I was asked if I wanted to close the loan early and if I did I would still be charge for the amount owed for this month.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you haven't seen your LiveLend interest rate go down this time - I completely understand this is disappointing.

I've raised this as a complaint for you so that we can investigate this and make sure your account is up to date.

In the meantime, I hope it's helpful with a bit more information about how we award rate reductions for our customers.

We review customers' eligibility for a reward based on a type of credit
When you apply for a lending product, including our Reward Loan, we use the credit score that you see in your credit score report to check your eligibility and ensure we’re providing a quote responsibly.

Once you've signed your loan agreement, we continue to use a slightly different score from what you may see on your Equifax or ClearScore account to review customers’ eligibility for a reward. This score is called a ‘management score’, and it's the one we, and other lenders, use to measure changes in your score regularly. In some cases, this score can be higher than the score you may see, as it doesn’t penalise you if you aren’t registered on the electoral roll.

Both scores are independent and we can’t make any change to the information we receive. The factors that go into how credit scores move are incredibly complex, which means we can’t anticipate what they’ll be or have a say in what’s reported to us from the credit reference agency.

Thanks again for sharing your feedback. We'll be in touch with you as soon as we've looked into your account based on the contact details you've shared with us privately through Trustpilot.

Awful experience and poor customer service

Dreadful service. I made a huge overpayment which showed on my portal that the loan was cleared. Then a few days afterwards started to get phone calls from this company that I still owed my usual monthly payment. I called them several times to query this and was told it was being investigated. I asked them for a written breakdown of what this additional payment related to, but received nothing. In the meantime I received several calls over the last month hassling me for payment. This payment was then charged interest despite making the overpayment 5 days or so before. When I queried this again to say please provide me with a statement the customer service assistant told me he had a sore throat but that he would follow this up for me, I provided my email yet again. I didn't hear a thing until yesterday when they called me again to pay this outstanding balance - which I still don't understand as I have no written statement. I have ended up just paying it now and just hope that's the end of it. I want to write to their complaints department and was told they would pass my concerns on which also doesn't seem right. I will be writing to the financial ombudsman and will be twitting the appalling service I have received. Absolute cowboy company and I really don't understand the positive reviews. In the meantime they have also now damaged my credit rating because of this unexplained missed payment. Please do not use and go to a proper lender if you are looking for a loan.

Hi Sue, I'm very sorry for any miscommunication about your overpayment.

However, I'm happy to confirm that we've investigated and corrected this issue with you.

When you have a Direct Debit set up with your LiveLend account and make a manual payment, the manual payment is treated as an overpayment. In addition to this, if the Direct Debit has already started the collection process, the remaining loan amount stated in your account won't include the Direct Debit amount. If the Direct Debit is cancelled before the collection process is complete, your overpayment might not cover the entire loan amount due.

To pay a LiveLend loan early, you can request a settlement figure through your logged-in account. With an early settlement figure, you'll get the accurate amount to pay to close the loan early.

Again, I'm very sorry for any inconvenience caused by this, and I'm happy to see this is now resolved.

Thanks for your review - I've circulated this to our wider team so we can use your feedback and experience to continue improving our services and communication.

LiveLend - Poor due diligence resulting in fraud

A fraudulent company took out a loan in my name and LiveLend did not check that it wasn't me. They then refused to tell me what due diligence they had carried out and are making me pay back the loan

Hi Brian, I'm really sorry you've experienced this.

I'm can confirm that our fraud team have completed a full investigation into this fraud case and that they've been in touch with you about the outcome.

As a digital bank, we verify each application's details through several industry-standard checks with Credit Reference, Anti-Money Laundering, and Fraud Prevention Agencies.

Unfortunately, if scammers manage to steal a person's details, they might be able to apply for loans and credit in the victim's name. This is why it's important to stay vigilant and be sure that your details are safe at all times, and never share them with suspicious third parties.

Again, I'm very sorry this has happened to you and that you're unhappy with the outcome of this case. If you'd like to talk about this further, please get in touch with our support team through live chat or our email form.

Awful.

Awful.

If you pay your monthly loan payment EARLY it’s classed as a missed payment…. Their IT system doesn’t register this as a payment instead around 9 days after your actual payment is due they start pestering you via email and phone saying you’ve missed a payment and then report it to your credit file. So for example if your loan repayment date is 6th and you pay it on 3rd - on 15th they start chasing…most months I raise a dispute on my credit file to get the missed payment off my report - it’s exhausting!

Online system doesn’t accept direct debit set ups either so it’s manually paid on the system. This would make it an easy solution.

I’ve never known a company to penalise a person for paying a loan payment early.
