First service carried out perfectly as discribed and I like the detailed paperwork. Accessories fitted to high standard. Thank you Lings for your mechanic's professional work.
Sorry to say I still don't feel particularly welcome or treated like one of their serious Triumph purchaser's. It so happens I am very interested in changing my tourer for one of the larger Tigers but just don't feel any connection with their shop staff and nobody seemed interested in making any approach to me (I think the shop had one customer).
I also asked if I could leave my tank bag somewhere safe whilst my bike was serviced as it had valuable cameras inside but that wasn't an option.
Triumph after market accessories service is not very good. I'm very unhappy that my ordered engine protectors and bobbins are unobtainable at the moment or in the near future. I wish to protect my bike and to be able to do chain maintance. It's just not good enough! Feeling pretty depressed about it all which is a shame as my Trident is a wonderful machine.

Took our new Triumph Speed 400 for its first service today. As usual all the staff were very helpful and polite all demonstrating a very high standard of professionalism.
I’m sure the following comment will be covered in small print somewhere but I must admit to being a little surprised that the first “free” service cost me nearly £80 for oil and a filter.

A dealer who does not deal
It is now 8 weeks that I have waited for a front tyre to be replaced on Triumph Tiger. The Team said they would put in a claim to triumph as the Tyre had only covered 1200 miles. Weeks went by and when I asked the Team said your claim was not accepted by Triumph and had to be made against the Tyre manufacturer but their supplier had non in stock for a Tiger 900gt.
Also due to sciatic back pain I asked if I could sell or part exchange my 14 month old Triumph Tiger GT900 on another Triumph bike only to be told by the manager of lings of Watton he had a budget to stick to so they were not buying at the moment, and though assured by the sales man James that he'd put in a good word and call me back in a couple of days but did not.
I raised the issue that I felt unvalued or fobbed off in other words. I also reluctantly mentioned I suffer from social anxiety only to receive Emails (Third one with sarcasm) from the manager showing nil empathy, insisting
that his staff team and sales team had done everything correctly, and that his budgets meant they could not afford to buy or part exchange my bike that I bought new from them.
The manager cherry picked my email to him and took it out of context. Ignoring two aspects completely.
This was my first experience of being a Triumph owner and my last.
I contacted James the sales executive a few days later as I don't like to leave on bad terms who was supprised and offered to contact the manager, but it's all too late as I have sold my Triumph elsewhere.

Buying a bike from Watton
When I first popped into Lings at Watton to look at a used bike we spoke to James. He took us out the back to see the triumph sport 850 as it has not been put in the showroom yet. I wanted to see if I could feel comfortable on it as I have shorter legs. The only thing that was not on it that I required was panniers.It was a nice bike though.
James mentioned that there was an offer in at the moment with panniers included on a new bike. This piqued my interest and I must say the new model is better. The bright green colour really stands out. James sent me a video of the bike, invited me to try the lower seat on my bike when it arrived and could not of done anymore than he did. He kept in contact with emails and calls throughout. I wish more salesman were like this . He was very helpful and not pushy.

Lings staff were extremely polite and friendly
Harry from Lings remembered I was after a Scrambler and contacted me when one became available unexpectedly.
He was very informative and kept me updated as to what was happening.
The pick up was seamless and to top it all, he even filled the tank up with petrol.
His service was second to none and everyone at Lings were extremely polite and friendly.

Buying my new bike
The team at Lings Triumph couldn't have been more accommodating when I brought my bike. They got my kids involved and made it a real family experience. They had my girls over and pulled the bike out so they could get on the bike and have pictures and really be a part of everything.I can wait to start making lasting memories with my kids.

Suzuki GSX S 750 purchase
Recently purchased a Suzuki from the Watton dealership main point of contact was Harry and he was excellent keeping me up to date with progress and being patient as we were away after my initial enquiry.
