Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 149 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the high prices and the condition of the products, frequently reporting broken bikes, flat tires, or issues with the electric assistance. Customers also found the service to be poor, with unhelpful responses to complaints and difficulties in resolving payment disputes. Reviewers often mentioned problems with parking locations and the presence of "no-ride zones" that made the service impractical in many areas. The payment system was a significant source of frustration, with people experiencing unexpected charges, difficulties canceling monthly fees, and issues with refunds. Some people also felt that the bikes were a public nuisance, often left inappropriately parked and causing inconvenience or damage.

Jesus Christ one of the worst…

Jesus Christ one of the worst experiences of my life. It allowed me to accept a like to get out of Brady and immediately shutout after I got on. I could not end the ride without dragging this piece of shit two blocks. Where it still would not go. Triple extra steps to cancel my ride. Just to order an uber. 0/10 just stole my money and wasted my time. Smd

Terrible experience. No-go zone scam.

Terrible experience. I'm from London, Greenwich and first getting on the bike seemed amazing. It was very quick, and the fees looked reasonable.

However, when I tried to ride home with it, I quickly discovered the "red zone" extends to almost the entirety of London, meaning the electric part of the bike barely works anywhere, and you will be penalised for parking in virtually any location outside the inner city, which is ridiculous, as it means the bikes are functionally useless in over half the city, and can't be taken on any real trips.

Horrible

Horrible. I had no phone in service and started a ride. I didn’t have service and couldn’t end the ride so I logged in my boyfriend’s phone to end the trip and they locked my account for 90 days. This was my first trip ever and didn’t know I couldn’t switch devices.

Lime won’t unlock my account and it’s frustrating. Read the terms and conditions! They will F you

An appalling customer experience.

An appalling customer experience.
On July 7th this year I made a Subject Access Request to Lime Bike which I am still waiting for a response to.
My understanding is that I have a right to the data held about me and that by not supplying this data Lime are breaking UK law.

I made the request because my access to Lime bikes was stopped and I have no idea why.

On finding out I had been banned I tried to find out why. They would not respond to my query fully, merely asserting I breached their service terms. They did not tell me how and gave no opportunity for me to respond to the allegations.

On failing to get answers I made a Subject Access Request. Lime have failed respond and the responses have just been laughable.

The standard response has been: we have referred your request to the relevant department...who will be in touch...

or something similar...of course I never hear from this 'relevant' department.

The last email said my query had been referred to LIme's 'global privacy team'

Still tumbleweed...

This has been ongoing since July. As far as I am aware it is UK law that a company respond to an SAR within 28 days. My main concern is that incorrect information may be held about me and my understanding is that I have a legal right to see this data.

I am extremely annoyed Lime can treat people this way and can it seems, get away with not adhering to local laws.

I am also upset on a personal level at the way I have been treated. I reply on cycling as a safe and cheap way to commute to and from work. As a woman in London they are also a safe way to get home at night.

The situation is all the more frustrating because I constantly see people who actually do breach usage guidelines. My local pavements are regularly littered with badly parked Lime bikes. There is one left outside my front door most days, yet Lime does nothing about such misconduct.

I feel this action is potentially discriminatory based my post code and other demographic data...or perhaps Lime's customer service is just universally bad.

Copenhagen rentals

Copenhagen rentals. Horrible. Wife’s bike chain was off. Mine made an annoying clacking sound the entire ride. Go with Donkey Republic. Bikes are newer and cleaner, and you can make a pit stop and lock the bike anywhere versus being forced to find an authorized parking spot and end the ride.

Reports Ignored about Illegal Parking

My final reponse to Lime customer service, after many back and forth where they act as if they don't understand that (1) there were no acknowledgements of receipt of the reports I provided to them through the app about illegal parking of their bikes, and that (2) providing all that detail in e-mail threads, days later is too little too late:

"Nah, I have decided to report these directly to the council and I hope that Lime will receive hefty fines and more London councils will revoke Lime's license! With this attitude, the business truly deserves that!
It seems you are being disrespectful by repeatedly parroting the same thing. The context of this e-mail thread should have been crystal clear: there is no point reporting details of an incident days after in this e-mail thread. If you couldn't handle it through the reports I have provided through the app that time then it is Lime's problem."

Garbage, you made my honey bun fly 6 ft in the air and fall into a puddle at 2am, unforgivable behaviour. I’ll never ride again (pause).

Parents, beware

My 13-year-old son used a Lime bike in London for the first time. Because he didn’t know how to end the trip correctly, he was charged £65 for 30 minutes.

When I raised this with Lime support, after multiple back-and-forth emails, I was told he shouldn’t have used the service because he’s under 18.

But here’s the problem:
👉 There was no clear age restriction visible when signing up.
👉 Lime still accepted payment from a minor.
👉 When challenged, they refused to refund or take responsibility.

This looks less like a mistake and more like a company willing to take advantage of underage customers while hiding behind small print when things go wrong.

Customer service was unhelpful, dismissive, and ultimately left the issue unresolved.

If you’re in London (or anywhere Lime operates), please be cautious before letting your kids near this service.

Overpriced

I only road around 1000 feet from the train station to a nearby park when I decided to try a lime scooter for the first time. I was slow at first, so I could get used to it and be safe. For that ride, I was charged $3.12! Good grief, how much is it per minite or mile? This is a rip off and not worth paying uber prices for a dinky scooter! NOT worth it! I'll walk next time. 😒

Parking lot

It’s ridiculously difficult to find a proper parking spot with Lime. They really need to improve their parking zones, like VOI has. I’ll never ride a Lime scooter again, and I don’t recommend Lime to anyone.

Absolutely disgusting experience

Absolutely disgusting experience. I picked up a scooter in Nørrebro to go to Nørreport station about a km away. When I get the it tells me I need to go an park 1km away back the way I came. Absolutely infuriating. I ended up spending 60kr to get almost back to where I started. I will never use them again.
