Very positive experience! Will buy again

I'm baffled by the negative reviews, but I guess Trust Pilot is mainly a place for angry customers to vent. I had an extremely positive experience.

My riding buddy showed me his LightMode kit in person a long time ago and raved about the quality/design so I bit the bullet and purchased my own a year-ish ago. Never been more satisfied with a niche product.

Before I purchased, I asked their support if their light strips would work with my Shoei RF-1400 and they gave me such a thoughtful reply with install examples on that exact helmet.

Been riding with it for a year and still have no issues. I heard they made the insulation layer more durable a while back. Mine must have that update cause my LED strips still look like new - no cosmetic damage (and I throw my helmet around a lot lol).

Well worth the price point IMO.

Two defective units in a row

Two defective units in a row. Poor customer service as well as they don't respond in a timely manner and almost respond as if they are annoyed you wrote then with an issue. Hasn't responded to my request for a third unit so chargeback it is.

IF YOU DROP YOUR PRICING TO AROUND $75, YOU WOULD SELL 100 TIMES MORE. FYI.
YOU CAN'T USE THE GET RICH QUICK SCHEME FOR LONG. AS YOU SEE, I FOUND THE EXACT PRODUCT THAT DOES THE EXACT SAME THING FOR THE MOST EXPENSIVE ONE FOR $75.00.

To start with I was emailed like I was a child if I could post what
Derek Plywaczewski there Representative had wrote me I would. My lights work fine however they turned yellow within a year and I didn't were the helmet but twice as I own a 2021 ducati panigale and multiple helmet's and keep them in there cover so this year I saw there ad and decided to text and leave an email before I was spoken to like a child however long story short I would not buy from them again and you should beware don't waste your money.

Lightmode. Wow.
Customer service is the worst i have ever seen, and i have been ripped off! I spent over £270 with lightmode and they sold me two sets of faulty light strips! The second strip they sent bent! Now they are saying its me who broke them both! Scam!!!!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Seeing these reviews, I'm glad they kept rejecting my payments. I ordered twice, and my payments got declined. 1st time, they said they couldn't confirm my payment because of my VPN. Understandable. 2nd time, 5hey said my address doesn't exist. That's weird because my PayPal has had my same address for years. NO OTHER COMPANY has ever had that problem. They send you a last minute cancellation and they won't answer your emails. I don't understand why they just didn't ask for the address again, then ship it out. They just cancel your order. When people are making too much money, they don't care about the one little order of $271. I'll take my business elsewhere!

Had LightMode as a gift after 4 months later the battery just won’t accept a charge at all and I’m uk based it cost over a £150 there is no customer service very bad service I wouldn’t bother with them again I did email them and got some spill about it being rare try another cable 3 cables later still useless I gave up

They won't let me buy replacement parts

I had a kit I received as a gift quite some time ago. A single plastic clip broke recently meaning the battery couldn't be mounted until it was replaced. They wouldn't even let me purchase a replacement part unless I could track down the gift giver and get the order number from them.

I'm not asking for warranty replacement, I shouldn't need proof of purchase. I just want to buy a component to make the product usable again. They won't let me do that.

Lightmode Nightshift is garbage…

Purchased Lightmode Nightshift for 250+ and less than 3 months later the rubber is falling apart everywhere. It supposedly has a 1 year warranty, but they told me they don’t cover physical damage lol. It’s not my fault your product is trash! I ride occasionally and never in the rain and this is the result! This to me is not worth 50 bucks. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere because they are scammers!!

Great idea, cool when it works, terrible execution

The product is a great idea. However, the battery last about 24-48 hours, and that’s without even using it. So, unless you keep it charging until the moment you’re gonna use it, it’s useless. In addition, the adhesive didn’t hold up and I had to glue it about a year in. They could improve the battery and adhesive and have a great product. Will they though?

Customer Service accusing me for lying

Update 18/10-2022:

So he replied back to my mail and confirmed, there's no warranty. But that's not it. He was really personal and attacking me with his response. I'm literally gutted by the service he provides.
If I could, I would attach the mail correspondence, so you guys can see, how insane bad his customer service is.
I never attacked him nor was I personal on my responses, but he dares to do that to a customer?!
This is why I changed my review to 1 star!
Now I'm going personal on this review, because I cba using my time mailing back and forth with him anymore. Imo, don't buy his product or anything else from him!

I finally got my Night Shift from LightMode after about 1 month wait. I opened the package, and the mounting system on the controller was broken/damaged, so I couldn't mount it on my helmet. I emailed the customer service with pics as prove etc. and told them to send a new controller under warranty, but no answer. Emailed them again 4 days after and got an answer.
After reading a long reply from them, where they explained how they inspect and test their product before shipping it, and the label in the box was proof of it. I was left with a feeling that I was accused of lying, and the only thing they could do for me is providing a link to buy a new controller for 106 USD with a voucher with 20% off!
I replied back to the response, but haven't heard anything from them.
Seems like there's no warranty at all on their products, and accusing a customer for lying is also a sign of, they don't know how to handle customers properly. It ended up with I glued the mounting system on the controller with super-glue, because I'm not going to pay 84.6 USD for a new controller. Why should I pay a new controller, when the one I got was already broken?! The product itself is already quite expensive.
The product does look very nice and cool, but lets see how long the 3M sticker on the product will stay on the helmet etc. I'm quite pessimist at the moment to be honest.

Simply canadians scammers

After a kickstarter campaign that paid them immensely more than they had asked for, they first delayed the project and then, after several months of delay, they said they had shipped (without trackings!!!).

But a lot of people, myself included, never got anything. Contacted several times they never answer and have completely disappeared. In one of the few responses on the kickstarter page they publicly admitted that they no longer follow the project and abandoned buyers in the after-sales.
Of course, Kickstarter washed his hands of it too, they got their slice.
Stay away from these guys, even if they change their "company" name... and from Kickstarter.

mix bag

Its a nice (nightshift)product and the idea is awesome.. But I think its a bit over priced. And the wait took away most of my excitement.
it the longest wait for something I have ever experienced in my life over 6 months. I got stuff out of china mid covid in 1,5 months. it arrived mid summer and we have light nights now. and "up to 12 hours" of battery get drained quite quickly in high mode. went out with 52% don't know when it went out but my ride time was 1h 35min. according to the app.

the app is the worst thing I would say.. You have to connect to it EVERY TIME like it was the first time. This is very annoying it the only bluetooth device I have that does this. Oh and I find it very shady that I have to turn on "Location" on my phone every time I want to connect to change something. Its a light for my helmet it shouldn't be like this. Feels like tracking/datamining. The app really pulls down for me.

This company is a joke

This company is a joke, customer service is the worst I have ever experienced and I don’t even write reviews which says something, they take your money and run and when you need simple help they’re reply is “it’s gonna cost you more money and it’s gonna take weeks or more now go f your self” pretty much and they ghost you. This company will not make it and obviously I’m not the first to experience this so to the company lightmode and mr lightmode hopefully that card board box your gonna live in is comfortable cause your customer service is what’s gonna get you there.

Received the Nightshift

Received the Nightshift. The adhesive works well and LEDs are bright.

The issue is the fragile rubber/plastic used. When I received it, there were already defects with air bubbles on the surface. On top of that, the elements/rocks that may potentially hit it will affect the look of the LEDs as it now refracts due to the broken rubber/plastic. I understand it must be bendable to adhere to the helmet better, but at least make it more durable.

Definitely not worth the $200-250.

*EDIT*

After having the nightshift installed for not even 2 months, the product is falling apart. I don't ride too often (3 days a week) and for too long (3 hours at most). I bring my helmet up after every ride into my room which ranges from 75 - 84 degrees Fahrenheit. There is no reason for it to fall apart as much as it did in such short time.

Makes me wonder if they have a Quality Assurance team as it didn't take long to start falling apart. Updated rating from a 2 to a 1 star. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVCE AND PRODUCT

First the company is garbage. There is zero customer service. If you fall for the extended warranty you are as big of a sucker as I was.
This so called company knows there glue on their product is bad, this is why they give you the grey extra strong double sided tape in your kit. Problem is they give you about an inch. I hope this comes off my helmet without damaging it or there will be another lawsuit. The corners and sharp edges will start to come off and then they stop working all together. When I emailed the so called company, they do not respond or I got an email saying sorry about that.
No! I paid for a warranty and you are not delivering on it.
There is not enough glue where the wires meet with the light tape so this flexing action while riding must sever the electrical contact or something. It just stopped working. Now the battery doesn't hold a charge.
Lightmode is forcing me to call my bank and report fraud as well as the Canadian BBB.
Lightmode doesn't care about the reviews because they are located in Canada.

Do Not Waste your $ Terrible Experience

Do Not Waste your $$$. Terrible customer and service non durable equipment. I wore it for 2 rides before it broke. The controller worked, but lights did nothing. Mailed it in for the warranty. Took almost 2 months for a response, they said " they didn't know" if it was their equipments fault, but wanted to charge me 12$ for a new helmet mount when they asked for me to send it in. I tried to ask that they don't charge me for one because of the crazy wait, but was told they dont work weekends and the pandemic caused the wait (uh its June 2021, not really the height of the pandemic to blame your slow response on). So they didn't offer me a 12$ mount to make a customer happy. Looked online, their revenue was 990,000 last year, but they lose out on 12$?! They're only so many months of good riding weather in northern USA and now I'm without the lights I spent a ton on for almost half the riding season. Still waiting to receive it back in the mail. Who knows how long that will take. So frustrating and just terrible!! Don't waste your time and money, just buy a cheap set of lights.
