I've only been using them for a few months, but they seem ok. The first bill they accidentally overcharged me, but they sent a letter and applied the money to the next bill (I never really got an explanation of how or why or how much, but as long as it worked itself out, I guess). The website isn't terribly user friendly, but it suffices. No issues with the actual power.

Good experience
Very easy to set up account online. They connected my service very fast it has been a very easy process. Would recommend others to switch to Life Energy
No Customer Service at all.
I called to confirm a payment that had not posted yet to my account, but the check had cleared. When I called to inquire about it, the person on the phone told me that your system was being changed, and that I should call again later in the week to see if it had been correctly posted. I asked her to look into my account to determine if the payment had been applied to the wrong/old account, but she told me that if I cared to know I would have to do it myself.
When I have gone to your site to find out what the upcoming month's amount will be, updated information is not usually there. So the portal that we're encouraged to use is not valuable at all.
Really disappointing.

Great rate locked-in and no complains from me!
I had my concerns about my bill
I had my concerns about my bill, but I didn't see a big difference. Only around $1 a month. My bill is only around $35 because I live in a small apartment, so if you use more electricity you'll see a higher increase over natural gas obviously. I feel it's worth it, though to know I'm lowering my carbon footprint with clean energy! Be aware however, if you choose this and change your mind there is a $50 cancellation fee if you don't do it within a time frame. 10 days I think. Don't quote me on that.

Life Energy was sending disconnect…
Life Energy was sending disconnect notices out because they had a glitch in their system. As it turns out, and they admitted it, there were people forced to double up paying their bills because of their mistake. They said an apology would be coming, which never did. They also said that a credit would be made on the bill, which never happened. I will not be renewing my contract with them when this hitch is completed. Lack of customer respect will not get you far in this business. There are is competition amongst providers and Power to Choose gives a customer the ability to choose a retail provider. Although, the State of Texas makes no effort to let customers know it exists.

Just ok
Just ok I was late on one bill and they sent me a disconnect notice. The check had already been cleared thru my bank so it clearly wasn’t that late.

Duplicitous representation of your plan offerings. Charging for blocks of power, rather than total kWh, whether I use all the power available in a given block or not.
I won’t be renewing at end of contract.

Very little communication up front…
Very little communication up front about setting up autopay. I had to wait for my first statement, I was told. Then, weeks after auto pay was setup, I get a delinquency email for unpaid first bill. I called and after about a 40 minute wait was told that their new system is causing problems with the auto pay and they would collect the first and second statement totals together. I would not be penalized. Then, I get a delinquency notice around the day that second payment is due. I called back in frustration and, while still on hold, logged in and saw that the autopay had just processed. This was a relief but it didn't make up for the aggravation caused by getting the delinquency notice.
