Lido Tours Reviews 

Last week I went on two excursions with Lido Tours - one full day - the East tour and one half day. The price was very good, the drivers - Joao and Nuno were both extremely nice, friendly, and had great English. They told us many interesting things about the island, its history, flora, fauna and answered all the questions we asked, no matter how strange they were - impressive! They were also great drivers, driving carefully given the landscape - often steep and with narrow streets. The route was well planned, we had time for lunch, and to visit as many places as possible for the time we had. I recommend Lido and would happily use their services again when I return to the island!

We went on the tour of the West of Madeira. The price was good, for an 8 hour trip. Our guide Nuno was friendly, chatty, funny, knowledgeable and interesting. One morning stop was too cloudy to bother with so he took us there in the afternoon - it would have been very easy for him to miss it out. The stops were, by and large, good. By the afternoon we were flagging a bit, but the trip overall was really worth doing and an excellent way to see the island. Nuno's driving was really good - we'd been slightly worried about being in a mini-bus on very steep and windy roads, but he went skilfully and cautiously and we didn't at any stage feel car sick. His commentary was never too much, but was worth listening to.

Our reservations? The seat belts didn't work but the driving was cautious enough for that not to be a worry. Other than that, it was great.

My wife and I did the East tour yesterday 7th January, Our driver and guide for the tour was brilliant - Very friendly and a hive of information. Highly recommend.

Used Lido in 2017 and again this year. Did 3 tours and 2 levada walks. All excellent value with good guides who spoke excellent English. Particular thanks to Ruby for our 2 levada walks, which she made really special.
I cannot recommend the company highly enough - we look forward to using Lido again when we next visit Madeira

Went on 2 tours; Rabaçal / Risco / 25 Fontes and Madeira Island Tour to the East, both were great and represented good value.
We bought from the office in Funchal, 39 euro for each tour so it looks like it is a little cheaper online but it was great to be able to talk through options and Sara was really helpful
