Switching to Lidl Connect was a mistake. First, it took more than two days to port my number, during which I was unable to make or receive calls. Second, the data speed is extremely poor. With my previous network, I was getting speeds of over 300 Mbps, and with Lidl Connect I'm only getting 8 and 15 Mbps with so much lag, making the service frustrating to use. Think twice before you switch
Can't reach customer service. Waiting on phone for more than 2 hours. How difficult it can be to port in the number? I received 2 emails saying that my number has been moved while it is not moved.
At last a mobile service that fully seems to do what it claims at a reasonable price in Ireland.
I was beginning to give up hope of getting a basic service at a reasonable price, but the phone/ internet provision is well beyond what I expected.
Sadly I still have the signal problems associated with the carrier network, but having a phone with an Irish number without having to switch before roaming switches in on my British numbers is a major plus point.
Signing up involved getting Lidl plus, but it costs nothing and is just another icon on the phone anyway.
I got this at 8.99 too and frankly it would have been acceptable at the "regular" 12.99. The last Irish suppliers I tried offering connections in that price bracket had a "registration fee" con that came to light well into the signup process.
I am very pleased indeed. Everything is straightforward and trouble free, although it would be nice if my bit of rural Ireland had phone coverage that matched Comregs map :-)
