Absurd claims from customer support
We wanted to transfer some leftover money (>15EUR) to another number (a family member changed their number). They said no problem.
They claim it was transferred (with a weird -amount, +amount in the report) but the money is not in the account. Customer support claims the money was transferred, and they don't budge even after multiple emails and proof, although it is apparent that money is not there.
Looks like they are losing 4 customers now.

My sim card was stopped working. I sent emails. Called them multiple times. First of all they don't have English support. The moment they find out that you are not native German they stop to answer to you properly. Very bad. After lots of calling still there is no answer from them.

The website has a lot of bugs, they don't answer the support email lots of times, and they don't have English support by phone. So even maybe you can't activate your SIM card.

Claim to be a prepaid sim but they'll deduct random amounts from your balance without explanation even within a plan cycle when you haven't used all your call, sms or data credits and if you don't have enough balance they'll send a bill by post with made up charges and fines and threaten you and suspend your number until you transfer the money. Can't reach their helpline to ask questions or dispute anything either, save yourself the pain and trauma and go with any other service

One star is too much!! I would give zero stars if I could! If you are a foreigner who does not speak perfect German, stay away! Finger Weg von Lidl connect! First, of all they only speak German or very limited English even though they advertise that you can choose an agent that speaks English. I speak some German and and even though my German is not perfect, I spoke enough to be able to convey the problem and they still couldn't help me! The customer service person I spoke with was also very rude and condescending. I do not appreciate being talked down to like I am an idiot! It is also not my fault that their stuff doesn't work! The WebID app is garbage and doesn't work! Even during the video calls where I thought I would be successful, it would either cut out or not register the ID verification. I asked for my money back and they blamed me for not being able to activate my SIM card. I tried to use my US passport repeatedly and even resubmitted it again and again according to their instructions. The webID app simply doesn't work! I have a brand new Samsung S23 with excellent photo quality and the app still did not pick up my passport photo! I also have the emails from the 5 or so attempts I tried to activate it and was unsuccessful. I am definitely going to dispute the money with my bank when it posts. Fortunately I only paid $5 Euros. But I will definitely be searching for phone service elsewhere! I have been at this for hours and I am done! I like Lidl as a grocery store but I think I will just stick to them for that purpose! No more SIM cards from Lidl for me!
Never buy a SIM Card rom Lidl Connect
They don't speak English at all. I wrote them a mail in which I explained what I've been through and they wrote me back very arrogantly and GERMAN. If you were able to understand my e-mail this means you can also reply to me in English. I was just 2 days late paying my bill because I just moved to Germany 2 months ago and it's a whole different system for me (Which is also not my fault that they don't use any website for the users) They just deactivated my SIM and told me to go and buy another SIM Card. They told me that they've sent me a letter (It's 2023, what is a letter?) Also, they've sent these letters to my neighbor all the time. They charged me 35 Euros. Never, ever buy anything from these people.
I am a seventy year old. I have only very bad experience by salt as well as Ldl connect. My experiences tell me that both salt and Ldl exploit helpless customers in many tricky ways. I am very upset.

Avoid this company. They know how to take your money but don't know how to give your problems a solution if you don't speak Deutsch. I call them and they said we speak only Deutsch and the person from customer service closed the phone.

Activation service of lidl is a night mare. They didn't activate my sim online because because I hold pakistani passport. I went to deutsch post but even it didn't work as qr code didn't work their when I requested qr code they asked me to log in to website.. but on website they didn't accept password and when I asked to send new password they sent it on SMS of number which was not active..their customer service is super bad no English speaking representor...I wasted my money my whole day and finally I throw the sim.

don't use lidl connect as your telefone provider!…
Using lidl connect as a telephone provider has proven to be a very bad idea. For years I have been a customer and things worked okay. Them my SIM card went funny and I was promised a new card. I was also promised that the old card would definitely NOT be deactivated until I confirmed the reception of the new one. Now this is exactly what happened. I will be without a phone until the new card arrives (some day?). Very bad for personal but more so business matters. People on the phone also not helpful and sometimes very unfriendly.

Save yourself pain and use another provider.
Difficult, extensive arduois security and KYC, lots of time and effort and still not activated. Lots of registration confirmations, video calls, identification, and waiting and waiting and following up. Long painful and time consuming.
Also has automatic lock on Sim card, so if phone asks for your pin, dont put your pin, use the Sim pin, and if u make the easy mistake by entering your pin then the Sim becomes locked and much more pain ahead trying to unlock it.
Run away from this one, way better providers out there

I have shopped at Lidl on the Oldbury Road in Rowley Regis, Blackheath, West Midlands, England since the store first opened decades ago. The past year, Lidl has gone right down market with some of its employees. I have been served 3 times now at the till by one arrogant employee who has refused me the use of my Lidl phone app for discounts. He raced my many groceries through the till at rocket speed to which I could not keep up with it or load them into my trolley quick enough and despite my explaining this he continued to rush my items through regardless. On two occasions when I've had to put items back due to not having enough funds on me, this one employee has deducted items from my bill that I swear were many items being taken back yet falsely deducted and I have ended up going home to find that items to which I had paid for were not in my shopping bags. I recently submitted a full complaint to Lidl in Rowley Regis only to find Lidl complaints Customer service persons to be more interested in the money side of the customer complaint and to what is owed and if the customers complaint is genuine or not, rather than the employees bad customer behaviour which is a disgrace. I have still not received any further reply from Lidl in regard to my many emails to them and have received no further response in regard to what Lidl owe me for missing yet paid for items. The complaint side is clearly no better than their bad arrogant incompetent employees. My daughter aged 20 (unemployed at present and desperately wanting a full time well paid job) could do and would do a far better job by miles yet Lidl won't employ her, despite my mentioning this on several occasions to Lidl. Probably because my daughter has manners and is polite with people unlike some the employed Lidl staff that Lidl have there at Rowley Regis. Lidl complaints do not take their customers complaints seriously or with the efficiency required and I can therefore understand why Lidl's ratings are low. LIDL needs a good shake up of staff both shop and management staff and I am going to fight my complaint all the way until Lidl sit up, genuinely listen and take serious notice of their customers genuine complaints and until Lidl actually do something about it more efficiently than I have witnessed to present from my recent complaint against the Lidl complaints staff.
