“I recently moved and long haul took great care of us. They were very professional, timely and helped us out with a lot of loose ends we had forgotten about when we initially made our reservation. Definitely recommending them to friends and family who will be moving in the future”

They deserve 0 stars

They deserve 0 stars. Don’t waste your time with this place. All the reviews are spot on. They were extremely late picking up our stuff. We kept asking for updates because they don’t communicate at all. One day later we finally got one. Once they came they were b*tching about everything. We were quoted with 30 small boxes and they said the boxes were too big. They were actually smaller than the size they quoted as “small” and we only had 25 boxes instead of 30 and they still bitched about it. Our entire move was only 25 small boxes, 4 medium totes, and a bedroom set. And they said “this isn’t a minimum job”. Because they ended up coming at 9 pm at night that day because we had to be out of our apartments that day and that was the earliest they would get there. Then like all the other reviews what you’re quoted is not what you pay. They tack on “labor” even tho it’s supposedly included. They charged for covering and packing our bedroom set. They are unprofessional and speak another language and I think there’s a big language barrier. 10/10 don’t recommend.

I do not recommend this moving company

I do not recommend this moving company. They are a broker, which I didn't realize, but the moving company that they set us up with was horrible. Do NOT use Us Moving Forward, LLC. They showed up a day late for our job, which made us wait at our pick-up location all weekend for them to show up. I learned that there was a large job ahead of ours, which pushed them back, but don't understand why they didn't account for that. If that's the case, then send another truck / people to help us instead. Then when they finally got to our house, the price to move our things drastically increased. Then, during pick-up, one of the guys really pressured us for a tip and wanted to know how much he would be getting for a tip. If you can't trust your driver to divide the tip among the workers, there are bigger issues than how much tip we will give you. At drop-off (a day later than told), (the driver this time) assumed that again, we would be tipping and asked us how much we would be tipping. VERY rude and unprofessional. Tipping is not mandatory. We weren't sure how much we were going to tip and were going to based on the job that was done, but in the end, spent way more than we had planned on this move. Next time we move, we will not be using Long Haul to find us a moving company. We will find our own because we will have much better luck that way.

Careful unloading but that is it.

I am disappointed.. I forgot how I picked them. I think I went to a site where you can enter your type of me and then you a deluge of calls and text messages. I spoke with two gentleman who in my opinion seemed friendly and professional. We were quoted a low price for a move of very minimal furniture from Nashville to Atlanta. It was coming out of a storage unit. We were quoted about $1800. About 3 days before the pick up, I get another call stating another $200.
Did I mention this move involved my 86 year old mother getting furniture of her sister who passed away?
It continues. I paid the 200. We got a call from the driver who now wants another $1100 +. I was also told at some point I could pay with Cash App or Zelle. No apparently things changed. It's either Cash or a Money Order.
We have not gotten the furniture yet. At the time I am writing this, it is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. I agree with the other reviews. Too many middle people are taking their chunk for the referral and then the movers still need to get their money.
If I ever have to do this again, it's will be with one of the bigger moving companies which do not use brokers. Allied Vans, United and Mayflower come to mind.
I would like to add the driver worked alone. We had a rough start with him but things smoothed out. I was pleasantly surprised how he took his time to figure out how to get my Mom's couch in the elevator. Overall he was probably the best thing out of dealing with Long Haul. Hence why I gave two stars.

After being lied to by David that my list of items, which never changed, would fit into 400 cubic feet. The honest driver that is a third party called me the day before the move to tell me that the list would not fit in the space quoted and I would have to call the quality department to get the correct price. After being told my move was $2600 it magically went up to $8250. As a pregnant mother with 8 children in not sure how they can take their vacations on my money knowing they lie to and rob people outright. They are trying to keep my $1124 deposit in lieu of them flat out lieing to me. This is not over, I'm glad they record their calls because the initial lie is all they need to overturn this case. Thank you David and Jay, you haven't seen the end of me yet, I'll get my money!

Professional and efficient

Professional and efficient. My girlfriend and I moved back to South Florida from Tallahassee and it couldn’t have been easier! They took care of all our furniture and made sure pick up and delivery ran smoothly. Definitely using them again in the future!

Do NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY

All of the negative reviews are correct and the positive ones are likely fake. We too had terrible expereince with this company. They're the middle-man and have basically no control over how the moves are done. After paying thousands of dollars (mostly in cash) they only delivered 70% of hour household goods and now stating that the rest are stolen/lost and recommended that we file insurance claim. One of the missing items is a hand-made solid cherry wood dining table that took me 8 months to made and will be impossible to replace. If anyone knows how and where we can locate the missing items, pls let me know. Included in the missing items aside from the large dinning table are a tool box, chrystal glass set for over 4, a bed base, elliptical machine.

Great Communication & Service - Everchanging Price

First the positives: Very easy to book, communicated and adjusted schedule to meet needs, were on time on pick-up day, arrived in Michigan only 8 days after leaving Nevada. Everything was wrapped with care, and there was zero damage to belongings.

Now the negatives: It's all about the pricing! We started out with a quote of $ 6,500 for a pack it yourself move with no appliances. Granted, as the move got closer, we realized we had omitted a good portion of the garage contents, and we needed to add more boxes (but deleted comparably sized items), and the estimate increased to a little over $ 10,000. We sucked it up and agreed to proceed. On moving day, the actual amount increased to $ 13,500, and we had to leave some large items that were on the original list behind (4pc patio set, heirloom parlor chair, wicker plant stand, carpet shampooer, steamer trunk, barbeque grille, and curio cabinet). Granted, there may have been a few boxes larger than expected, and some loose garden tools, but NO WAY did those items come close to being as many cubic feet as the items left behind! I contacted customer service a number of times asking for an explanation, and all I got back was the actual packing list, which of course, I had a copy of by then. I wanted an explanation, and got none, so am feeling like I got duped.

In retrospect, I would suggest using a company that will come to your home and take the inventory themselves.

Questionable Business Practices

On April 28, 2023, I contacted Long Haul Moving and Storage (LHM&S) after finding them online. I spoke to rep "B,” who told me he could offer me a $500 discount if I booked immediately while on the phone with him. When telling him I was moving from Syracuse to Plattsburgh, he commented, “One of our trucks will still be in the area on those dates." This led me to believe it was part of LMH&S’s fleet of trucks since the plural was used. While on the phone with him, I signed several documents that were sent my way (a bit pressured since the writing is the smallest font and you have a rep on the phone waiting on you). I made a deposit that day for USD 941.44 to reserve the service and not lose on the “special.”

Upon further investigation, some days after signing the documents, I realized all was not what it seemed. After reviewing BBB complaints, Trust Pilot, and exploring the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) website (with formal complaints on file with the carrier iMove Van LLC located in NJ, and LHM&S), I did not feel comfortable moving forward. They both have complaints against them, specifically about changing estimates and holding things hostage. I mistakenly believed LHM&S was a full-service carrier. LHM&S was not a carrier, as was implied by Blake. They are a broker. The contracted carrier, iMove Vans LLC (based in NJ), only has one truck registered with DOT in their fleet. I would not have gone forward if I had known that I was speaking to a broker and not the company making a move.

On May 4, 2023, I emailed B, LHM&S support, and iMove Vans LLC, formally canceling my planned moving service from Syracuse, NY, to Plattsburgh, NY (5-20-5/21, 2023). I did this to mitigate the possibility of damages to my property and to protect myself from possible deceptive practices. I told them I had yet to do my homework about broker services vs. actual movers/carriers that would pick up my belongings. Or that my move cost could increase upon the movers’ arrival (and their final estimate), and there is no guarantee that it will be delivered the same day.

To amicably solve the issue, I even mentioned being okay with a partial (50%) refund. On the same day, May 4, I received a voicemail from B. It said I would forfeit my deposit if I canceled and that he would “hate to see me lose” my money. He could have the carrier call me to “guarantee” same-day delivery and other promises.

I understand there is a “forfeiture” when not canceling within 72 hours of signing the Bill of Lading, based on LHM&S policy. The issue is that I never paid anything to iMove Vans LLC. The ACH authorization for the deposit was to LHM&S and did not mention any words on the carrier. The Bill of Lading is a “binding” document, but I did not sign a binding document with LHM&S. The Bill of Lading does not include any language about using a third party (LHM&S).

After days of radio silence and as detailed in my letter, I am now filing consumer complaints as is my right as a consumer.

This company could do better by being more honest with their advertising, a more flexible policy regarding cancellations, listing all of the carriers they work with on their website as is required by most regulations, and clearer delineation between themselves and the carriers they work with.

Baited by Discounts, Left in the Dust: Moving Misery

I feel compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience with Long Haul Moving & Storage to raise awareness about the challenges I encountered.

Initially, I contacted Long Haul Moving & Storage for an estimate on my upcoming move. To my surprise, during the call, they offered me a special discounted price if I booked their services on the spot. Intrigued by the offer, I decided to proceed and scheduled my move with them.

However, as circumstances changed, I found myself needing to cancel their services. With over a month's notice before the scheduled move, I promptly reached out to Long Haul Moving & Storage. Unfortunately, what followed was an incredibly frustrating experience characterized by a lack of responsiveness and unhelpful communication from their customer service team. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone even had the audacity to tell me that I was "in a pickle."

To make matters worse, the signing process during the initial consultation was rushed, leaving me ill-informed about Long Haul Moving & Storage's refund policy. It was only later that I discovered their strict 72-hour written cancellation requirement, conveniently omitted or hastily brushed over during the paperwork. This lack of transparent communication put me at a significant disadvantage and further exacerbated the difficulties I faced when attempting to cancel their services. Consequently, I was required to pay the 20% deposit for services that were never rendered.

In stark contrast to my previous experiences with other moving companies, Long Haul Moving & Storage's refund policy appears unnecessarily stringent. This raises valid concerns about the fairness and necessity of such rigid conditions, especially considering the substantial amount of time I gave them between the cancellation and the scheduled move.

This unfortunate experience reveals a profound lack of professionalism and a disregard for customer satisfaction on the part of Long Haul Moving & Storage. The inadequate communication, unresponsiveness, and failure to honor my cancellation request have left me deeply dissatisfied.

I hope that my feedback serves as a valuable warning for other consumers, urging them to exercise caution when considering Long Haul Moving & Storage. After reading other reviews and discovering that they are not accredited by the Better Business Bureau, and even allegedly request customers to withdraw complaints filed through BBB as a condition for resolving those complaints, it is crucial to approach the positive reviews with extra caution. It is important to be mindful that some of the positive reviews may be questionable given these circumstances. I feel incredibly fortunate that I managed to avoid more significant financial consequences. This experience serves as a costly lesson, underscoring the utmost importance of conducting thorough due diligence prior to paying for any services in the future.

I implore any potential customers of Long Haul Moving & Storage to carefully read all reviews and proceed with caution. Do not allow yourself to be strong-armed into booking early and risking financial loss.

I sincerely hope that Long Haul Moving & Storage takes this feedback seriously and reevaluates their practices, striving to improve their customer service and foster transparent communication in the future.

Update:

I'd like to draw attention to another concerning observation I made regarding Long Haul Moving & Storage. It is worth noting that a series of five-star reviews appeared within a short timeframe on both this website and the BBB. While I won't directly accuse them of being fake, the simultaneous posting and clustering of these reviews raise doubts about their authenticity. Given my personal experience with this company, I wouldn't be surprised if they were intentionally inflating their star ratings by potentially using false reviews, especially considering that most people tend to focus on the latest feedback. It is crucial for readers to approach these reviews with skepticism and carefully consider the possibility of manipulated ratings. If you're currently reading this, I strongly urge you to reconsider your decision and explore other options with more established and accredited moving companies.

SCAM ALERT - I wish I could give a zero star review.

I wish I could give a zero star.
READ THIS BEFORE YOU BOOK. No judgement if you book with them or not but read this so you know what the process is.

1st call - you’ll talk with a minor admin agent. He’ll negotiate and give you exactly the price you want. I asked him about the reviews and the services and he was saying yes to me about everything

2nd call - “quality assurance speciality” - I told him I had a COUPLE of extra items. He increased my price by $1000.

3rd call - PICKUP DATE. Movers come in and tell me it’s all my cubic feet and nothing that the quote said. Told me it’ll be another extra $1000. AND THEY WOULDNT DELIVER ON THE DATE AGREES. It’s a 2-3 week window. The pickup driver said that “they’ll deliver it when the entire truck gets filled up cause they don’t want to lose money”.

These people will scam you. Add more money every single call. Do yourself a favor and don’t do business with this place.

Horrible horrible people.

Lied

Lied, Misrepresentation. Cost me $3000 for nothing. I was very cleqr that I had a 12x24' storage unit that was packed tight. Tyler quoted me a little over $6000 and I was very happy. However, it turned out, that would only move approx 1/4 of my storage unit. Miscalculations between linear/cubic footage screwed me royally

I hired Long Haul Moving & Storage to pack up all of my belongings for a 4 bedroom house and move from FL to TX. They gave me a great deal especially because they were packing about 90% of my stuff. They were great from start to finish and anytime I had a question about anything whether I emailed or called I got a quick response. The movers showed up in the allotted time they gave me. They showed up with 3 guys and when they realized it might take a little longer to pack everything they called and got another 2 movers to come help within a couple of hours which I really appreciated. They were very professional and took great care of belongings. I did have a couple of my glasses break buy it was in the stuff I packed and I forgot to put fragile on the boxes. They gave me an estimated date for arrival a week after they got on the road and they showed up within the 2 days they gave me and I just have to say. I will definitely be recommending them to my friends and family
