Absolute scam they have been secretly charging me for years even tho I had cancelled and then wouldn’t even refund me anything. Do not give them access to your bank account

Frankly RUDE
I was charged for a membership of some kind from the company Les Mills. This was some kind of mistake perhaps but when I asked for a refund and they refused. It was never used. Their customer support was incredibly un-accommodating and frankly rude.
Beware of inactive subscriptions!
I had an account with them of which I wasn't aware was active, I haven't used for at least 9 months and they take a payment of 120£ for the year and refuse to refund even though I have cancelled my membership. I can't afford the payment at the moment as I didnt budget for it and I explained this to the sales rep but she refuses to refund me. Really unpleasant customer service experience and will never sign up again with Les Mills in the future on this basis.
Thieves
Echoing a number of reviews I’ve seen on here about their poor conduct.
Signed up for their (average at best) online subscription and the renewal was taken without notice, with no contact number to speak to anyone and just provided with a blanket response of ‘no’ to our request of a refund having requested cancellation within minutes of seeing them trying to take money from my account.
God forbid I were to forget my account log in as it feels like they’d continue stealing from me for the rest of my life.
If the product offering was better, it would be less of a bitter pill to swallow, but unfortunately it’s not.
Trash if you’re traveling…
Trash if you’re traveling and can only use wifi or on airplane mode. Not sure what the point of downloading workouts is for… if it DOESNT play in airplane mode or while using wifi (i.e on a cruise). This is almost 2024…. too much technology for you to not get this right. Do better #lesmills
Nothings Better
What can I say, been a fan ever since I started my first Bodypump, and now we have on demand. It’s top quality and just super motivating. They even emailed a huge discount voucher on their equipment. Super 👍
The quality of the workouts is 💯. Super effective and great music. Thank you Les Mills, for years of motivation, fun and a great program. Especially when going through a rough one, I knew I could always count on you!
Subscription trap and terrible customer service!
Great product, truly AWFUL customer service. Based on my experience, this is not a company that prioritises customer satisfaction and honestly that's as important - if not more - as the product in my opinion.
I signed up to a free trial but I received no email to confirm my signup (with expiry dates, how to cancel, etc.) Furthermore, I never received any reminders when upcoming payments were due. After one payment was taken in September, without any notice provided or explanation of what services I was paying for, I decided this was not for me. With a second, larger payment soon to follow I went online to cancel my trial.
After what I thought was a successful cancellation of my subscription, I noticed the second payment had been taken out this week! I contacted customer service, immediately explaining I had cancelled and that there was clearly some sort of technical glitch or misunderstanding.
I was promptly emailed back and told I would not be receiving a refund, seeing as they had no record of me cancelling my subscription in time and saying they could see an email was sent out when I joined and that I had read it. All the while acknowledging they understood that I had no intention of carrying on my subscription and wasn't wanting to remain subscribed (I think that's so bad considering a free trial is about deciding if it's the right subscription for you). Their operating model is clearly subscription trap and it's not ok!
The customer service rep had a rude, dismissive tone throughout and kept insinuating that I was lying. Not really what you hope for when you reach out for support on a technical issue.
Based on seeing many others on here reporting technical issues with the cancellation system and with being told they've received and read emails they haven't, you'd think Les Mills would be wanting to look into their technology and improve their processes, not blame their customers who reach out for support.
I truly believe it's these situations where companies either shine through excellent service or show their true greedy colours. In the case of Les Mills, I'm sad to report it was the latter in my experience.
Fortunately, new consumer protection legislation is underway in the UK, specifically targeted at greedy subscription companies that try and keep you trapped and paying. It honestly can't come soon enough.
Their "present" comes with an invoice for VAT and tax
I was chosen as what they call a lucky winner of LM Goodie bag, but instead I have ended up with invoices for unpaid import tax and VAT. At first I was told they will take care of it, but now I have a new invoice and the amount has gone up. If I had known I would have never accepted to receive this so called present and I will galdly return it, I have not even opened it. Nobody replies to my e-mails anymore, I have included several contact e-mails in my latest attempt. I am writing this review for the hope of somebody helping me. I really cannot believe that I have to spend time with this. I am so disappointed, I once was a LM instructor and I think the platform is great, but I simply will not accept paying for this mistake. The problem is that I will end up having to do so, because that is the right that the tax authorities have here in Denmark

Beware of providing credit card details. No support from customer service or accounts
I recently needed to update auto payment details and did so as soon as I was notified that the card didn’t work. While online I was prompted to update my credit card details and a pop up said it would be charged in 9 days. I didn’t think it would be an issue to update the account details on my profile then update my subscription.
It turns out that my card was charged immediately and I wasn’t able to change the subscription plan.
I immediately contacted customer support to let them know that the notification on the website page was misleading and their response was “I am unable to change it in our system after it has already been processed.” They argue that I had rolled over that day into the existing subscription so I owed them money. Had they rectified it on the day I made contact this argument wouldn’t stand.
I’ve worked in companies that build their reputation on bending backward to prioritize customer experience. This isn’t one of them. They are quick to take your money but not to support you when you have issues with their website.
Be weary of giving them your card details and keep a careful watch on your auto subscription.

Disgusting ethics from a rich business
If you are in the UK beware of signing up to Les Mills. They do not support consumer right for cancellation. I had turned off automatic renewal and they renewed and took money. Due to the time difference between the UK and New Zealand, I didn’t realise this until it was too late. When I kindly requested cancellation as I can’t afford the cost at the moment, they said no. I begged for them to reconsider, they said no. It’s my problem and the money is theirs. They have now confirmed that my subscription won’t roll over in 2024. Helpful?! This is would never happen in the UK, our consumer rights cover for a cooling off period. Please be aware that Les Mills will take your money regardless of what you think you’ve turned off in your settings. Cancel (don’t just change settings) as soon as you sign up for a free trial other wise you’ll be £60 poorer with no rights. The rich get richer. I’m disgusted by them. I won’t be using the subscription. Update (6/11/23). I am pleased to say that following my review, Les Mills reached out to me directly and helped me with ‘my unique situation’. Thank you.

Les Mills panders to the trans community
I couldn’t even finish the les mills body combat 95 because of blatant injustice. Usually les mills trainers are physical models or examples of true fitness and up until now they have fought for diversity in their programing without compromising fitness virtues. But now for the sake of transgender inclusivity they have sacrificed their values to showcase transgenderism. I feel terrible for this transgender person that they encouraged him/her to be on their stage but did so not because he/she is a model of fitness but more simply because he/she is trans. I would hope that the trans community would see this dishonor and try to stop organizations like les mills from pandering. There is no honor among fools.

Still charge you after trial even if you cancel
I have sign up for a free trial, after few days in I was strong on my commitment and I made a mistake to buy three months plan for something about 36/7£. Before my free trial ended I cancelled the subscription in the app and on the webstie (you are asked to create an account on) because I found the plans to be too hard for me to follow. Even though my account is charged with over 30£. Made a complaint and they are “oh, you have never cancelled and it is still active”.
Would not recommend this to anyone.

This is more a review regarding how bad buying the equipment from Les Mills has been
Purchased an order weeks ago , still being processed and still not getting a satisfactory response from tne support system - I can only assume they don’t have equipment in stock - has been a very frustrating experience- online chat option gets shut down before I get a chance to even make a comment and the generic email replies have no resolved the situation either
As an update , I’ve now had a further 2 communications after contracting LM promising an update via email - still no further forward other than the warehouse will contact you as a matter of urgency… 3 weeks and counting now
Further update - it’s now November 6th (having made the order on September 23rd and I have received only half of my order , communication from LM is poor and evasive, the equipment is great , the distribution and customer service a shambles -

Excellent package with huge amount of choice but read T&Cs and set reminder for the end of any offers
I joined Les mills in the first lockdown. I loved the body attack and body pump. I had previously done both at my gym. The pump and attack presenters are fantastic.
I left when I went back to the gym - I had a lower back injury and could not work around it with pump and body attack.
In June I saw the 3 months for the price of 1 for Les mills. I thought I would try it again to mix it up for a couple of months. It was irksome that the one work out l wanted, ie pump was is only available on the more expensive package. The other workouts look great I simply don’t have the time to do them all with work and dog walking and gym!
The full price for the one workout a week I want to do on top of the gym is too much money for me so I have cancelled. I would consider joining again if pump were in the cheaper package.
How amazing to have Les Mills in my front room!
I have attended Les Mills live classes off and on for over 15 years now. But, my local gym struggles to retain and then replace LM trained instructors, doesn't have enough equipment or run enough classes and the few that do run are harder to get into than a trendy East London club.
I had tried the OD service before the pandemic but a combination of injury, detraining and well, life, meant I didn't use it enough to keep it. Bring on the pandemic and my gym giving us free access for a while. That was just what I needed to get into a good routine and, honestly, The Trip saved me from going postal.
I have been doing around two spin style classes a week since then and have never been fitter at the advanced age of 44. I love it so much, I have just ordered the Body Pump equipment set. That's turning into a bit of a mare but is a different part of the business so will be reviewed separately. If the order ever materialises.
Anyway, there are a lot of workouts (and other types of sessions like meditation sessions) that don't need equipment. I really can't recommend LMOD enough. There is so much variety almost everyone should be able to find something they can get into, the instructors are great, the video quality is great, the filming is good i.e. you can actually see the whole body or part of the body you need to focus on on the instructor. I've watched few online exercise classes where the camera position never moves! My only niggle is that the website could be a bit better organised. I often struggle to find a few things that I access a lot, like my favorites list. Might be me just being a bit bleary in the mornings thought.

I am absolutely loving it!
I am absolutely loving it!! My gym was advertising classes for les mills on demand, and even though I am an absolute gym buff I thought 'wouldn't it be nice if I could just do this from home', and I can. There is so much variety in the workouts, which keeps me motivated.
I love the plans and challenges and most of all the inclusiveness and diversity of all of the trainers. The trainers are also wonderful and inspiring. It is also lovely that they are a range of ages which is encouraging for people, like me, who are no longer in there 20s or 30s. It's also very reasonably priced. Thanks for making this available to all.
I highly recommend it.

This is my favourite app
This is my favourite app! Any gym membership I had in my 20s was usually to access the classes but when we started our family, getting to the gym and at class times became a lot harder. The app gives me a huge range of classes so when I have a window to workout I can pick something that suits both in time and impact. It also got me through 2 pregnancies and post partum recovery because again I could just pick and choose what felt right for the stage I was at. I highly recommend it!

These workouts have a brilliant tune and they really work. I started using this properly throughout lockdown and now going to real-life workout sessions, it's great! The app is constantly being improved, while there are some glitches, it does work/
