Bad hardware, horrible service
I bought a Lenovo Notebook, premium model about a year ago. First of all, the hardware is disappointing. It features a "lap detected" mode, meaning it detects being on your lap, and refuses to use the full CPU frequency then. This is obviously absurd, a *laptop* is meant to be used on your lap, so their entire performance numbers are just garbage.
Then, the keyboard starting failing. It started with just the left arrow key after maybe one month, and continued with all keys connected to the same trace. On this particular model, you can't even replace just the keyboard, but need to replace the entire to cover.
I then contacted "Premium Support" as this was still inside the warranty period. The responded quickly that the part had been sent to me directly and the technician would come the following Monday to perform the repairs. On that day, another mail arrived, stating that the part was currently not available. So the first mail was obviously a lie. Chatting with their support, they made ridiculous excuses such as that replacement parts were not their responsibility, but weren't able to help. The next day I received another mail, stating that the part had been shipped for pickup by a technician and that the technician would be arriving between 9am and 6pm to perform the repairs. This never happened, so they wasted a full second day of my time. No email, no phone call, just no show.
At this point, all I can say is that I'm done with Lenovo. Their hardware is crap, their service is crap, do yourself a favor and buy something else.
