I joined my SME organisation in December 2025, a small Company with around 35 employees. I was employed to fulfill the HR function in a stand alone capacity, that had previously been outsourced. Upon my employment i was launched immediately into a grievance that subsequently went on for almost 8 months. In addition multiple other grievances as well as other ER issues were raised that all needed to be handled within strict time constraints. Being the only manager with HR and employment law knowledge the weight of these issues weighted heavy on my shoulders. In addition, after 16 years working in HR the main grievance was extremely complex which i believe needed input from professional legal advisors. The Company i work for was already using Legal Vision and was able to point me in their direction for support and guidance - an i am forever grateful they did. No matter how many years you work in HR, you always learn something new, and especially in complex cases it is advantageous to have someone to bounce your thoughts, process and ideas off of.
