Great ordering experience, but beware of the return process
My experience with LeathersInn started out great. Junaid was responsive and helpful during the ordering process, and the jacket itself was nicely made.
Unfortunately, the experience completely changed when the fit didn't work for me. I first asked to exchange the jacket for another LeathersInn jacket, but was told they could not accommodate exchanges.
I then requested a return. At the time, I located a Sacramento, CA return address associated with LeathersInn's return information and referenced that exact address in my email to them. Instead, I was instructed to ship my $135 jacket to their factory in Pakistan using DHL with Duties and Taxes Paid (DTP).
I could not find the DHL or DTP requirements stated in their published return instructions, so I repeatedly asked where these requirements were disclosed. I never received an answer to that question and eventually stopped receiving responses altogether.
I also can no longer locate the Sacramento address on their website, although my email correspondence documents the address I found and referenced at the time of my return request.
I checked international return shipping and found USPS would cost approximately $83, while UPS was over $100—nearly the cost of the $135 jacket itself.
Had I known before purchasing that an exchange would not be offered and that a return could require shipping the jacket internationally to Pakistan at such a significant cost, I would not have ordered.
Excellent customer service when making the sale, but a very disappointing experience when trying to exchange or return the product.
I hope LeathersInn makes its return requirements and potential international return costs much clearer for future customers.
