Working in the blind

The kids like the activities and lessons. My problem is I have no idea what level of learning they are in or what the progression looks like. It feels like we are working in the blind.

No parental controls

App seems appealing to my preschooler.
But from a parent perspective: I cant lock any content that I don’t want her to interact with… l personally don’t prefer Frankenstein and Witches for my family.
When i do not supervise my preschooler she mainly spends time clicking through the videos/there is no way to lock the content.
I did reach out to customer support who confirmed that.
I did cancel the subscription and not sure why we still have access to all content after canceling it. So far I haven’t seen any other charges but I ll keep looking…

Not for kids over 5

Not for kids 6+. It was marketed as an app for kids up to 8 years old. I’ve emailed customer service 3 or 4 times now. I’ve asked for a refund if the app doesn’t become more difficult than matching uppercase and lower cases and counting to 10. I was told to set my level as growing learner…no change. I was told to uninstall and reinstall…no change. No response further response from customer service.

Note: I paid for a year subscription. My daughter just turned 6. None of the content is even a little challenging.

So far I love the app

So far I love the app. I just have a few issues for me the app sticks at times. And I have to re-download it. Secondly my daughter is currently doing digraph and split digraph. I was wondering if I can jump forward to that area of phonics and come back to the beginning.
That's it for know.

I purchased an annual membership…

I purchased the annual membership and the payment was withdrawled promptly. The platform work perfectly for about 7 days and then refused to let my daughter back into her account due to our subscription needing to be renewed. I am VERY upset to discover homer has NO customer service number and I have been waiting for a whole day now for a response back in regards to this issue via the email messenger they require you to use for questions or concerns. For such an awesome application to have such limited outlets of customer service in addition to the customer service that you currently have to be less than urgent in response to situations like this…..is actually disappointing and confusing.

Improvement suggestion.

My kid has improved his reading skills since he started using Homer.

Would love if homer can actually understand my kid’s reading and give feedback accordingly.

It’s a great app except needs more accessibility.

It’s a great app except that you have to be connected to the internet to play. Being busy running earns and chores or even on the long rides to playgrounds or activities, we don’t have internet access. Finding time to learn on the go would help to fit more time in. Maybe even create games for at the grocery store, at the playground, or at siblings soccer games that require looking around to find things in the environment.
