I was made aware that it is not good to have a will that leaves everything to our partners as in my case if I died my husband would have to go into care and all of our property would go to the care home and not to our children as we would want

Trust fund advice

The organization of the talk about trust funds was very easy and well done.
The follow up video call was executed well.
The chap who I spoke to was well informed about what a trust fund is and what you have to do to set one up.
He gave me very good advice on what can be put in trust as well as what cannot be achieved.

A great experience. Very pleased with the service from both Later Living and Viva. The free session gave me much ‘food for thought’. It was very informative and the consultant from Viva was very patient, helpful and knowledgeable. A great service. Thank you.

I have just received a cold call from…

I have just received a cold call from this organisation. I note that they claim in review responses that they only contact people who have requested a call through a contact form. I have not filled out a form, nor requested a call. They are clearly pulling information from somewhere else.

Edit: Following the reply from Later Living, I can confirm that the call was received 22/03/26 at 12.44. The number displayed was 07533 148182

Thank you for your feedback. We believe this call may not have come from our organisation, as our volunteers only make inbound calls on weekends. Could you please provide the telephone number from which you were contacted and the day it happened? This will help us investigate and ensure no confusion or misuse of our name.

This is not our phone number and we have never cold called anyone. We do not sell a product or services and simply call people who have asked to be called to help them for free. Please call the number and ask who they are and how they got your details and leave a review for that company and deleted this please. Kind Regards.

Later living

I filled in an opinion Survey on facebook, and ask for more advice on certain fees, A few hours later a lovely volunteer rang me and went through the various options we hadn’t thought of before, made a free appointment with a professional based advisor from later living. All good experience and 5 star reviews.

Would highly recommend

I originally spoke to a female volunteer, who was very helpful & honest in the information she provided. It was interesting to learn exactly how the care system works & that I may be able to protect my home against the fees. She explained that they are not a legal entity, but was able to offer me a free consultation with a company that could help me. The consultation was done via video call. The information they gave was very informative & helpful.
As I must be honest & say this has always been a mind field to me.
I now fully understand what options are available to me.

Thank you, Janet, for taking the time to share your experience. We’re so pleased to hear that your conversation with our volunteer was helpful and that the information provided gave you a clearer understanding of how the care system works.

It’s completely natural to feel overwhelmed by this topic — many people tell us it feels like a minefield — so we’re glad the explanation and the free consultation helped make everything easier to navigate.

Our volunteers are here to offer honest guidance and connect people with qualified professionals when needed, so it’s great to know the video consultation gave you the clarity you were looking for.

We really appreciate your kind words and are glad you now feel confident about the options available to you.

Brilliant!

I spoke to someone who told me they would get a volunteer to call me back. The volunteer wasn’t able to answer all my questions but explained it’s because they are not a legal entity. They put me in touch with an estate planner who was able to answer the questions I had. Very thorough and very helpful and polite volunteer

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear that our volunteer was polite, helpful, and able to guide you through the initial questions.

Our volunteers are here to offer general information and support, and when specialist or legal questions come up, we connect people with qualified professionals who can give accurate, detailed advice. It’s great to know the estate planner was able to answer everything clearly and thoroughly.

We really appreciate your feedback and are pleased the process helped you get the information you needed.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I’d like to clarify a few points about how our service works, as there seem to have been some misunderstandings during your call.

Our team is made up of volunteers who kindly give their time for free to support people who contact us. They are not solicitors or financial advisers, and we do not sell any services or products. Because of this, there are limits to the guidance we can provide. In your situation, our volunteer simply recommended that you contact a qualified solicitor, as the matter you raised requires professional legal advice — something we are not permitted to give.

We understand it can be frustrating when we are unable to offer the help someone hoped for. However, our volunteers should always be treated with respect. During your call, you became aggressive and abusive, which sadly is something our team experiences more often than it should. These are individuals doing their best within the boundaries of what they are allowed to do.

Regarding the first call, I’m sorry if the volunteer’s voice or manner didn’t meet your expectations. They were doing their best to assist you.

We aim to be clear about what we can and cannot help with, and your feedback helps us continue improving how we communicate this from the outset.

Be very cautious

Be very cautious. We took up a 'free appointment' which ended up a high pressure sell which has cost us dearly. If you are feeling vulnerable and concerned about your future and finances, as we are, tread very carefully. Its a shame.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that you felt uncomfortable, and we’d like to clarify how our service works so others reading this understand the process clearly.

Our organisation does not sell any products or services, and we do not carry out any form of high‑pressure sales. All we do is offer free guidance from our volunteers and, where appropriate, refer people to external companies who can provide their own free appointments. These companies are completely independent from us, and we have no involvement in how they choose to run their consultations.

It sounds like the appointment you attended was with one of those external firms, not with us directly. We understand how stressful financial and future‑planning conversations can feel, especially when someone is already feeling vulnerable, and we’re sorry that the experience you had with them left you feeling this way.

We never want anyone to feel misled, and we always aim to be transparent about what we can and cannot do. Your feedback helps us continue improving how we explain this to callers so expectations are clear from the start.

If you’d like us to look into what happened in more detail, we’re more than happy to help.

Waste of time

I didn't call the helpline, they called me and as I didn't know the number I called them back. Call was answered by a female who spoke very fast and she said I clicked something on Facebook - I probably just wanted to know what it was but I don't remember.
I told her she was speaking too fast (I have poor hearing) so she said she would speak slower, then repeated her spiel just as fast. She asked if I would like to be transferred to one of their volunteers so I said yes, and explained to the person who spoke much slower that I didn't wish to talk to anyone.
Whatever they do, if I wanted it I would choose who to consult so it was a waste of their time and mine.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry to hear that the call you received wasn’t as clear or helpful as it should have been.

To clarify, we only contact individuals who have requested information through one of our online forms, most commonly via Facebook. These forms require a name, email address, and phone number so that we can respond in the way the requester has chosen. If this was submitted in error, we completely understand — mistakes happen — but unfortunately we can’t prevent accidental submissions.

We’re also sorry that the initial call was difficult to follow. Our volunteers kindly give their time for free and come from all over the UK, so accents and speaking styles can vary. However, we absolutely take your feedback on board, especially regarding speaking more slowly for those with hearing difficulties.

We’re glad you were able to speak with a second volunteer who communicated more comfortably for you, and we apologise that the call still felt unnecessary in the end. Our intention is always to support people who reach out to us, never to inconvenience them.

Thank you again for your feedback — it helps us improve the service we provide.

Am not at all sure about this company

I am not sure about this company at all. All the information on their website is accurate, all the things happen and it's terrible but I'd be interested to see any good reviews about them. The initial call, which I found through their Facebook page led to an appointment. They insisted that my husband attend the appointment, when really I wanted to find out information, see if it was helpful and report back. It all felt a bit weird and pressured. If you look them up on Company's House they are an advertising company, not an estate planning company.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that the experience didn’t feel comfortable — that’s never what we want for anyone who reaches out to us.

Just to clarify, we don’t provide estate planning services ourselves, which is why we’re unable to give estate planning advice directly. Instead, we offer a free referral to a qualified estate planning agency so people can get accurate, regulated guidance. As part of their compliance process, they do require all relevant parties to be present during the free appointment. This isn’t about pressure — it’s simply to ensure they can give correct information without discussing anyone’s estate or finances without their involvement.

We appreciate you raising your concerns, and we’ll continue working to make our process clearer and more reassuring for anyone seeking information. If you’d like to talk through anything further, we’re always happy to help.
