Fraud

I ordered the Mayfair bed on 10/8/2025 and was told by staff it would arrive in a couple of weeks. There has been no response to my emails and the voicebox is full. I also had to pay by bank transfer. I feel I was deliberately mislead by staff. I was encouraged to order more items but thank God I didn't.
I have to say I have ordered alot from The Sofa And Chair company in the past with no issues. This is shocking.

SCAM, THIEVES & ILLEGAL COMPANY

SCAM, THIEVES & ILLEGAL COMPANY
Larkbury is owned by Khushal Ahmed who also owns The Sofa & Chair Company. I paid for 2 cabinets from Larkbury in July for over £3,000 and received confirmation of my order which would take 4-6 weeks. After 6 weeks there was no communication and I had to follow up myself. I called more than a dozen times and emailed on numerous occasions. They eventually replied 2 months later saying that they were in financial difficulty and could not deliver the items. They refused to give a refund.

They have not responded to any further emails. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE LIARS, THIEVES AND CHEATS or especially any businesses owned or managed by Khushal Ahmed who seems to be a serial liar and thief.

Shockingly, their website is still up and running and I have no doubt that they are still collecting money they can get from innocent and honest hardworking people like us.

I just wish they would repay the money instead of walking away with it unscathed.

I ordered 3 pieces of furniture over 2 months ago with a promised 6-8 week lead time. the phone number still worked, payment was super easy. Now i'm following up with my order and i'm receiving NO RESPONSE and the phone number doesn't work. The parent company went into liquidation they have stolen my money and haven't even responded. All i want is a refund and there is no way to even contact them.

I think they may no longer be trading

I think they may no longer be trading, I went to purchase from their website but got stuck on checkout, I then even tried signing up but never got the confirmation email so I couldn't. I even then tried calling them, no answer on any of the departments and all voicemail boxes are full.

SCAM COMPANY - AVOID !!!!

We have ordered King size bed from them at the begining of June and they have delivered it in July, but it arrived badly damaged. After many emails and phone calls they arranged a collection of a faulty bed and never gave us a refund. Exactly the same experience as all the other negative reviews. As the website still works, do not buy from them, otherwise you will loose all your money!!!

The showroom and business has shut…

The showroom and business has shut down, they made a run with people money, I am an interior designer and my client has pays £15,000for X2 bespoke sofas. The owner is Mr Ahmed, Khushal he owns 12 millions in backdated taxes! he probably lives in Dubai now enjoying the money he took from his clients.

Bought a wall lamp 10 weeks ago. After 8 weeks without updates I contacted them via phone and email without any luck. I had to go though PayPal to get a refund. I guess they are not in business but they still take orders

Is this even a company anymore?

I was told my delivery was ready in August. I asked for September delivery as I was out of town. I can’t get in touch with anyone and they won’t return my emails. I see here on trust pilot their warehouse has been seized???

I had ordered two expensive bespoke sofas and they made me pay a deposit with my bank card. Ugh

I wish I'd read the reviews

I wish I'd read the reviews - and even a check at Companies House shows they had already taken $6m from the HMRC as Sofa and Chair, went bankrupt owing millions, and then just started again in the same place with the same people, as Larkbury. How is that even allowed??

Order No 000002300

UPDATE AS Of 17TH SEPT

I had raised a charge back via PayPal who have today paid me my money back.

I didn’t have a large order like some people, but at least the funds were returned.

This is the second review I have written about this company due to the consistent bad customer service.

My original post Larkbury asked me to remove because the matter was resolved, so I had no problem doing that, but my feeling was they would learn by their mistakes and ensure it wouldn’t happen again. Well I was wrong.

Larkbury sell some fabulous home decor pieces, but that’s where it stops.

During their sale, I purchased items for delivery and collection, so feel I am able to comment.

The key failures are

Non existent CS to speak to when there are issues with orders..
Long delays in orders arriving.
Phone calls are not responded to, the phone just rings.
Emails get ignored and you have to consistently chase.
Items arriving damaged and lack of communication to get the matter rectified.

The final order I had with this company arrived damaged, it was made of glass and I ended up cutting myself on the item.

Opening up the packaging, there were no fragments of glass to show it could have been damaged in transit, so it is pretty plausible it was sent out damaged.

Do your research and check out all the negative reviews. We can’t all be wrong.

My gut feeling is they are going into administration as they certainly don’t care about their clients.

I have written numerous emails to Erick Jordao, but again these get ignored.

If I do not receive a refund, I will be contacting my bank to arrange a charge back.

My advise save your money and look elsewhere.

I ordered furniture from this company…

I ordered furniture from this company in good faith after being told the delivery time would be 7–10 working days. This was important to me as I had a housewarming at the end of August.

A few days later, I was contacted by the delivery company who informed me that my furniture would not arrive until September 3rd — well beyond the original timescale. When I raised my concerns, I was told the 7–10 days was only a “guide” and that nothing could be done.

I spoke with a manager (Faisal) who was extremely rude, dismissive, and even told me to “go ahead” when I said I would leave a review, before hanging up on me.

I emailed the delivery company on September 2nd to confirm a delivery time but received no reply. I then called repeatedly on the 3rd, but no one answered, not even reception. As of today, my furniture has still not been delivered.

This has been a very disappointing experience: misleading delivery promises, unprofessional customer service, and a complete lack of communication. I am now left unsure if the company is even still trading.
