I’ve had one of the most frustrating experiences with LAFCU I’ve ever had with any financial institution. I needed a copy of my E-title so I could legally register my vehicle and change license plates in Illinois — a basic, essential task. I was told it would be emailed to me. It never was.
When I followed up, the customer service agent was passive-aggressive, telling me “YOU WERE TOLD” — which is not only incorrect but incredibly unprofessional. The agent then closed the chat on me. That’s not customer service — that’s disrespectful behavior.
No one reached out to resolve the issue. No communication. No follow-up. Just radio silence and blame-shifting.
It shouldn’t be this hard to get documentation for a lien that LAFCU still holds. And treating customers like they’re the problem only pushes people to take their business elsewhere.
If you’re considering LAFCU — don’t. There are far better credit unions out there that actually care about supporting their members.
