Came to my elderly parent's door! Sold a crappy vacuum with a bogus "warranty." Came back, sprayed a plethora of chemicals without asking specifically first, claiming they were "cleaning the carpet," and nearly sent another family member to ER with severe chemical allergies!! They promised a refund of $450 (what they charged for their "carpet cleaning"!!!!) and have had 2 weeks to deliver a refund their "manager" promised "within 2-10 business days," but... unsurprisingly... $0 refunded to date by these door-to-door SCAMMERS.

Two reps came to my door just before Christmas 2025. They were not pushy and demonstrated all the attachments (except the carpet shampoo feature). I just had new carpeting put in and did not need them cleaned. I only have some minor issues with the machine. When I convert it to a handheld machine to clean the carpet on the stairs it is too heavy for me to use properly. Also the hose attachment is a very stiff plastic and hard to maneuver. The wand is also plastic and sometimes the 2 pieces fall apart when you are vacuuming. I am looking forward to spring so I can use the portable sprayer to clean my sliding glass doors. All in all, so far I am pleased with the machine (Avalir Platinum).

Was becoming frustrated with my cleaner as it seemed quite heavy and on occasion smelled of burning Called them and their chap came within a couple of days and took his time to show me what the issue was. I'd been using it incorrectly all this time and when I push the correct button its light to use again . He put on a new belt and surprisingly didn't cost an awful lot. Thank you

I hate Kirby Cavalier, sold to me by pushy Kirby salesman who promised to take it back if am not happy, never happened, unsellable product.
I hate it- it is super heavy, falls all time, complicated, space consuming, unsellable.
Stuff lies to you just to sell it at any price.
Good thing- service. However very expensive parts

Had a Kirby for about 10 years still work good until they convinced me of getting a new one did an upgrade. Never noticed they gave me the one they were using around to sell. Comes to turn out after a year stops working. Can’t believe something so expensive that you still paying does not work. Ridiculous don’t recommended getting a newer one.

I am furious and disgusted.
cleaning windows? doesn't work properly.
floors? have to go over with normal vacuum afterwards.
mopping? don't even get me started.
contacting the distributor? Ha! impossible!
returning the product? even more impossible!
mental health? show me to the nearest, tallest building!!!
not to mentioned, they LIED about the service we pay through not having a monthly fee, it does!!!

it keeps me awake it might and keeps a constant knot in my stomach! talk about praying on single mums living alone.

The system is too complicated, and breaks often as a result. Did not notice a big difference between the Kirby and a $500 Dyson, and the Dyson is much more convenient. Do not buy one of these, reputable companies don’t resort to door sales to make ends meet.

I tried returning and says must notify in 3 days by mail on contract ,what letter could make in 3 days, then i tried and post office said invalid address and i wrote it in correctly, and they seemed to treat all these people online the same way they treated us,except dude with picture that clearly works for kirby lol thus the good comments, with there being so many of us why hasnt somebody sued them yet theres no way judge would believe them over the thousand they screwed over.

Would give no stars if I could. The sales people barged into my house saying that they would clean my couch at no cost and that I could sit back and relax. Little did I know they planned on showing me this whole presentation on this stupid vacuum pressuring me with questions and compliments. They almost forced me to purchase it on a payment plan. Thank god I got a second opinion and worked the courage up to get them back to collect it. Overpriced, rude, and forceful. Do not buy.

Best performance of any vac made.
Just the sales tactics have a lot to be desired. If you pay the right price everything is good if you are a bit naive you can get ripped of by strong arm sales.
I have a heritage 2 1981 and an avalir 2017 happy with them both and will out perform anything i put next to them. I even have the test meter attachment to prove that very point
Negative reviews tent to be those that have paid too much in my opinion.

They are scammers. If a Kirby salesman comes to your door, do not let them in. I bought a vacuum that doesn’t work, and the company refuses responsibly.

I’d give zero stars if I could—one feels way too generous. The salespeople are dishonest, making false promises of free yearly services with only charges for consumables, just to close the sale. Then, the company disappears and you never hear from them again.
Now, years later, I get a call offering the yearly service for £40 instead of the £100, all thanks to a “special offer.”
How about being upfront and honest from the beginning instead of misleading customers?
£900 was an expenses purchase just to be lied to?

I understand the process of home canvassing as I used to canvas for Loys soft drinks in the 70's,a very un rewarding way to make ends meet,I take my hat off to the Kirby canvassers, thankyou for your time and consideration

My family have had a kirby machine ever since I can remember to this very day 20+ years later the exact same machine has been passed down from my father to my brother and still works like the day it was bought LEAVING ANY DYSON VACUM FOR DEAD THERE IS NO COMPARISON TO THIS VACUM IT IS WITHOUT A DOUBT SECOND TO NUN AND ONE OF IF NOT THE VERY BEST VACUM IN THE WORLD I MYSELF AM JUST ABOUT TO PURCHASE THE NEWEST MODEL AND PREMIUM PACKAGE THEY HAVE AS I HAVE 3 VERY LITTLE CHILDREN AND AT LEAST I WILL HAVE PEACE OF MIND THAT MY CARPETS ARE TRULY CLEANED WITH NO DUST MIGHTS ECT LEFT BEHIND DUE TO POWER AND PERFECTION ,PERFORMANCE THIS MACHINE GIVES YEAR AFTER YEAR AFTER YEAR UNL8KE ANY OTHE VACUM ON THE MARKET

Magnificent vacuums. They outperform everything, look great and make vacuuming enjoyable. A high quality item which makes a carpeted house far more pleasant to live in.

False premises for discussion. Initially sales person wanted to talk about foamless carpet cleaning but quickly changed rover aggressive sales pitch for a $2500 Kirby vacuum cleaner. He would not take "no" for an answer .

The servicing and parts seems expensive now.
I felt that it was strange as there were no signs on their premises and they were working from home? Professional?

If I could give 0 stars, I would! I can't speak to the vacuum itself but the sales practices are horrendous. My husband and I are working from home and answered the door to the Kirby salesmen. They gave us a free bottle of soap and said that they "weren't here to get us to buy anything, and just wanted to hear our honest opinion about their product". Thinking it was some kind of survey, my husband let them in. NEVER AGAIN. They walked all the way into the house to the living room and started to do a whole demonstration. When it got to about 30 minutes in, my husband had to tell them that we had to get back to work. The salesman seemed disappointed and said he'll just pack up. He called his boss to inform him, then asked us if we wanted to buy the Kirby. We asked how much, and he told us $3600. We said no thank you, and he asked for the bottle of soap back!! So our time was wasted plus we didn't even get this small free item that was given to us 'just for letting them in'. Don't let these people inside.
