We ordered the DIY cube product

We ordered the DIY cube product. We had one of Kinsman’s Architects consult with us about what we wanted and draw it up for us.
We payed almost straight away but we waited almost 2 months while their teams stuffed around with our order unnecessarily sending us constant emails for measurements they didn’t need.
After much stress and follow up, we finally got our order and on fitting our kitchen cupboards we noticed the overhead doors were not finger pull as verbally agreed on with the Architect and to make matters worse the face of them were scratched on taking the film off them.
When contacting Kinsman their response was that the finger pull design wasn’t in the order notes taking no accountability for the mistake made either by their Architect or them on fulfilling the order. So we have to live with the design flaw.
The quality of the other cabinetry overall is average. They didn’t provide correct documentation on how to adjust the cabinetry and we’ve had to go to the manufacturer to get advice. They also don’t do custom panels, so we are left with an integrated dishwasher, no panels to match and no advice about where we can actually get them from. This company takes your money and wipes their hands of you the minute your order is placed. Their customer service is extremely poor. I would not recommend them to anyone.

16 months and 30 emails/calls later ... still waiting for a single call back

I have lodged over 30 complaints on your customer portal for an damaged panel that has been outstanding for 16 months. Yes, we have been living on take-away food for 16 months!
You could sort this out in 10 minutes.
You promise people on Trustpilot to follow up. I am expecting your call. My job number is MXVPR22001 (MV2125241)

Do not use this company, you regret for the rest of your life

I wish I had read people's reviews before deciding to go with this bloody company. Their customer service is bellow zero. No one replies to your messages after getting the full payment. It's 6 months since we signed the contact with them ad still my kitchen is not finished.
They say they do care about customer's feedback, but this is a big lie. They just want money and they do not care about anything else.

Two years on and still my kitchen is unfinished and small panels falling off. It pains me to read that others have had the same experience. I feel so foolish to have handed over money to these people. Also please don’t insult me with a patronising response.

TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL, OVERPRICED, STILL NOT COMPLETED

Commissioned Kinsman to install a small wardrobe. Fully paid $11,000 & five months later, wardrobe still unfinished. Parts missing, sub-contractor installer mentally unbalanced. Terrible customer service if you can actually get onto anyone. Whole company is shielded by their portal system so there is no real avenue for complaints or resolution. Extremely stressful & frustrating to deal with. Not a professional business. 'Block' recommendation completely misleading. BEWARE.

Don't waste your money!

The kitchen was left unfinished for four months! Was lied to multiple times. They had no motivation to finish since I had paid in full until I threatened to report them to the QBCC. Even now the standard is not good, with massive gaps in all cabinets under the benchtop. They blame the installer and the bench makers (four2stone) that they told me I had to use and those people blame them. These people do not care, they hung up on me when they asked me what was wrong. As soon as I told them (in a calm manner) that I was frustrated that I was lied to for 4 months Christie slammed the phone down! I will be reporting them to all the relevant authorities! They have ripped me off! They will take your money and run these kitchens are not up to Australian Building Standards! They told me I would have to hire someone at my expense to fix the problems.

I would never use Kinsman again

I have had numerous kitchens installed ranging from IKEA through to Custom . All I can say is that after having a kitchen supplied by Kinsman I would never use them again . The installer I had was fantastic ( they do not work for Kinsman) , so that’s the only reason I can give 1 Star .

Unbelievably bad

The worst customer experience I have had dealing with any company in my life by a considerable margin. Throughout the entirety of my dealings with kinsman kitchens they have displayed an utter lack of competence in every facet of their work.

We paid our deposit in January of 2023 and were told 4 month turnaround. We accepted delivery of our cabinets August 2023. We recently found out an installer was never booked for the job and after having cabinetry sat in our dining room for 2 weeks have been told by kinsman to source an installer ourselves.

After spending $30,000+ on this renovation we regret ever reaching out to use kinsman. I have no doubt that once our installers go to fit our cabinetry there will be further issues.

Please use any other company I can assure you it cannot get worse. We are considering an ombudsman complaint and are holding off until install to see just how much money we have been ripped off for.

Absolutely terrible

Absolutely terrible. Terrible Designers, terrible installers, terrible after sales service. Do not be fooled by the Block it does not represent this company in any way. We had the worst experience with Kinsman for our Wardrobe and Kitchen. The hanging space in wardrobe wasn't even deep enough to accommodate a coat hanger and had to be converted to shelves. The kitchen looks terrible and does not function properly. Kickboards either fell off or were 2cm too short, drawer in kitchen didn't fit cooktop and was fixed but still not right. Silicon in kitchen looked like a 5 year old did it. Sales Manager and service guy came out. I spoon fed a fix to them and asked for an additional island bench. Costing for remediation work is more than the cost of kitchen and Island cost more than a cabinet maker would charge. It took 8 weeks to get an idea of cost after sales blaming sales guy, sales guy blaming after sales guy. Absolute joke! They want all their money upfront and push you to approve plans to progress your job. It forces you to trust the designer knows what she's doing, she didn't and now I am looking to get the whole thing replaced. DO NOT USE THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY THEY ARE ROB DOGS WHO DON'T CARE!

Very disappointed with you guys

Very disappointed with you guys. I had booked you in well in advance and my husband took the day off work specifically. We totally understand people are busy.
The appointment was made for 10am Tuesday morning. You phoned an hour earlier, to say there was no designers available at the time we were allocated.

Well hello!!!!!!!could have been notified a few days prior. No email was sent prior as you stated, and then you had a 545pm appointment that same day, or not till August 20. 5.45pm is a time when most people are home with their families, preparing for dinner, or going about their usual errands.

Don't do this to potential customers, it really puts people out and off guard. Don't accept timeslots prior, like we did, and then on the 11th hour tell us you can't make it.

Very disappointed in the manner this was done. No thanks for your service. Your partnering business Freedom Kitchens did the same.
Apalling.

Caveat Emptor!!! Buyer Beware, Kinsman Cash Cow Customers!

Have just spent $25K+ on Kinsman kitchen, pantry & laundry cabinetry (excluding trades which will be a further $15k+); expecting 2 different colours of benchtop (kitchen upgraded to diamond gloss, with laundry & pantry to be oak woodgrain) to find "on install" that ALL benchtops are diamond white and cabinetry arrived in a different finish-Kinsman creates urgency (pressure/duress) for docs to be signed off by sending monthly "maildrops" that are impersonal and not relevant for many customers to "ensure an install date in the next month, sign by xx/xx"! ...which then distracts the customer from any colour / finish changes that have been made and not highlighted. The portal is not user friendly either. Because the customer has signed off under duress "to progress the order" (not fully understanding "what" is being signed because we aren't the experts!), Kinsman uses this as its "protection" AGAINST the customer. There is no "customer care" or looking after the customer to ensure they receive what was ordered. The Customer is nothing more than a Kinsman Cash Cow.
Phone calls yesterday / today with the Completions team are extremely disappointing and disheartening and I've been told Kinsman "is happy to quote me for the doors and side panel" that I should have had in the first place!" This makes me sick to the stomach. I wish I'd read these prior reviews and listened to my friends, colleagues (AND someone who even used to work for Kinsman warned me off, but only after I'd paid upwards of $25K!)
My ONLY saving grace, is that I have GREAT tradespeople working with me - Kinsman, not happy and not recommending. This should be a C9 ACA item, however I'm not expecting much from that as it's the same TV station and would affect its own ratings!
I'm sure if I were a Block contestant, my 2 cabinets and end panels would have been replaced on the day it was identified and reported!
The best I can 'now' do, is to thank everyone for earlier reviews and lend MY disappointing experience with this (uncaring and unprofessional) company to the numerous other disappointed "former" Kinsman customers.

Too tricky to navigate the Portal for me. Kitchen is finally finished to the eye. But touch cupboards don’t work properly, Kitchen was delivered on 16 May 2023 after 2 push backs. But not properly installed until last week of June. If you are expecting a smooth install don’t go with Kinsman. So disappointed. My stylist will not be posting anything positive and naming names. DONT BELIEVE WHAT YOU SEE ON THE BLOCK. The service is awful. And expensive.

WARNING. Nightmare Company, Proceed with Caution.

I strongly advise anyone considering Kinsman Wardrobes find another company. Their lack of transparency, breach of trust, and violation of basic customer rights are simply unacceptable. My experience has been extremely disappointing, and I urge others to explore alternative options before engaging with this company & most importantly check the terms and conditions as they have hidden costs associated, however will not disclose until after everything has been installed.

Cannot be trusted

I had a highly disappointing experience with Kinsman Kitchen during my kitchen design renovation. From the very beginning, there were multiple instances of miscommunication, broken promises, and unfulfilled commitments that left me frustrated and dissatisfied.

During the initial sales visit in November 2022, the designer made verbal promises that were not upheld in the subsequent agreements. The agreed-upon timeline for installation was not honored, and when I visited the recommended showroom to view materials and purchase appliances, I was met with a lack of availability and false information regarding discounts.

The lack of professionalism and customer support became evident when I reached out to the designer for clarification. Instead of assistance, I received a rude and dismissive message, completely disregarding the promises made earlier. Even when I escalated the issue to the sales manager, there was minimal effort to address or rectify the situation.

Throughout the process, there were multiple mistakes and miscommunications within the Kinsman team. The first installer provided inaccurate measurements and subsequently revealed an unexpected delay in availability, causing further frustration and delays. The CAD drawings also reflected the lack of communication within the team, resulting in errors and the need for revisions.

Another major issue arose when Kinsman's factory refused to supply the cabinet for the rangehood, despite prior agreement and supporting evidence provided by me. This forced me to seek an alternative solution at an additional cost and time burden. The lack of accountability and refusal to adjust the price to compensate for their mistake only exacerbated the already disappointing experience.

Furthermore, the constant changes in installers without my consent added confusion and further demonstrated the lack of coordination within the company. The new installer was not properly informed about the project details, leading to incomplete information and an inability to provide an accurate trade quotation. This lack of clarity left me concerned about the potential costs and work required during the demolition phase.

Attempts to reach out to the sales manager for clarification and resolution were met with unresponsiveness, further highlighting the lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction.

Overall, my experience with Kinsman Kitchen was marred by poor communication, broken promises, unfulfilled commitments, and a lack of professionalism. The numerous mistakes, delays, and unaddressed concerns have left me deeply dissatisfied with the company's services. I would not recommend Kinsman Kitchen to others seeking a kitchen design renovation, as their lack of accountability and customer focus overshadow any potential positives.

The reviews are correct ! It’s a shitshow!

The reviews are correct !! It’s a shitshow!!

Parts from delivery missing so can’t complete installation until sent in minimum of 10-15 working days.
What was designed and installed don’t match! Shelves missing. 6 Handles sent for 8 doors! Hallway cupboard has pantry shelving ie 15cm back from the cupboard door despite shelving out to the cupboard door being part of design request and final measure request. Also noted and voiced on delivery pre installation.

So disappointed that having spent 10.5k plus Installation that will total 2.3k for 4 hallway cupboards.

I’m now being asked to pay for the extra 2 handles and being told “that’s the shelving we send”

I thought I would have beautiful custom made hallway cupboards and support an Australian manufacturing company. Instead I’m recommending you stay away

Edit*
Yes I have been in contact with completions team
Emma was very firm on the shelves were what they sent as per contract yet nowhere does it say “pantry” aka inappropriate shelves”

***DO NOT USE KINSMAN***

***DO NOT USE KINSMAN***

Easily the worst company I have ever dealt with. The moment you hand over your money, is where Kinsman will stop caring what happens. The don’t care about the end result of your project because they have your money already and they definitely have no respect for their own brand. A quick read of reviews on other forums like google and product review will tell you all that you need. They DO NOT care about how your cabinetry turns out.

We paid our money and we’re the allocated our installer by Kinsman, we did not choose our installer, Kinsman did. Our built in wardrobes, we had two done at the same time, look absolutely terrible. Poor quality, flat pack cabinets, finished off by a very poor installation. Again, we were allocated our installers by Kinsman. We were not provided a list of preferred contractors or told we could use our own installers. We had installers supplied by Kinsman, installers they have a business relationship with but will deny that.

We complained to the installers about the job and they told us Kinsman had not supplied the right materials or enough materials to complete the installation. As a result we new have wardrobes with with unfinished edges butting up to each other filled with silicone, different shades of white in the panels used as fillers, chips in the edging and corners that don’t line up. We had the installers come out 5 times after they had finished and each time they came out to fix the problems they got worse. So we had the installer blaming Kinsman and Kinsman blaming the installer.

Finally the state quality assurance manager came out, told us our installation was poor and they had had a lot of trouble with that particular installer and wouldn’t be using them any more. My question at this point is why the did Kinsman continue to allocate this installer to their customers? It is pure negligence and one hundred percent Kinsmans fault.

The quality assurance manger eventually formed a suitable plan to fix our wardrobes, told us in writing he had ordered the materials and would personally do the work. He later reneged on this and told us we would need to pay an additional $700 for panels with the edging we required.

It was escalated to the national installations manager and he has been no help at all and definitely does not care. He basically told us that the contract was between us and ‘our’ installer, who is if they being truthful, is really their installer. As far as he is concerned Kinsman have done a great job in supplying us with a quality product. You will be told they are a supply only company, read your contract it’s not our fault blah blah. I honestly don’t know how these people sleep at night?

It’s a cosy arrangement they have set up being able to take money but then distance themselves from any responsibility for the finish product.

Do not expect any help over the phone, they are rude and dismissive. Most communication is done through a portal which they answer when they are good and ready. It is apparently company policy to not give out the names or details of people higher up, you have to wait until they contact you.

The latest communication from them was to tell us that would try and facilitate for the original installers to come back out, as a gesture of good will. How big of you Kinsman.

Do not believe what you see on TV on The Block about this company, they are completely dishonest and incompetent. Their product is garbage, their customer service is worse. Use literally anyone other than Kinsman, they are thieves.
