Kinguin is a scam!

No money goes to game developers & there is no guarantee for gamers that ‘keys’ are legit.

Scam Sellers. Kinguin doesn't care.
There can be good keys on the site but if you get a bad one from a scammer then they try to jump you through hoops and get screenshots of irrelevant account information. Kinguin support doesn't care whether they have scammers on their site or not. Steer clear.

Systematic delay, invalid product, and forced case closure – this borders on an international scam
I purchased a product listed as “Spotify Premium 12 months” on Kinguin.
What I received was NOT an activation code, but a pre-created Spotify account. The seller explicitly confirmed in writing: “This is an account number, not an activation code.” This alone means the product is NOT what was advertised.
Such accounts cannot legally be sold or transferred under Spotify’s own policies, and they do not represent a valid or legitimate service. In other words: the product is technically INVALID.
I immediately requested a full refund. The seller refused.
I then escalated the case to Kinguin Customer Support. From that moment on, a clear pattern emerged:
• Kinguin repeatedly sent automated messages warning that my case would be closed due to “inactivity”, even while I was actively replying and requesting a decision.
• The seller and the platform continuously postponed any real resolution.
• No human review, no clear ruling, no enforcement of buyer protection.
• Only procedural stalling designed to exhaust the customer until the ticket is automatically closed.
This is not customer service. This is systematic delaying.
The seller is “verified” and authorized by Kinguin, yet both parties follow the same pattern: avoid responsibility, push the timeline forward, and rely on automatic closure mechanisms instead of resolving the issue.
This behavior strongly suggests an intentional strategy to avoid refunds through procedural manipulation. In any other context, this would be considered a coordinated attempt to defraud customers across borders.
To summarize:
1) An invalid, non-compliant digital product was sold.
2) The seller admitted the product was not what was advertised.
3) Kinguin failed to enforce any meaningful buyer protection.
4) The case was repeatedly delayed with automated warnings in the apparent hope that it would simply expire.
I strongly advise against purchasing any digital service from Kinguin. If something goes wrong, you are left alone in a system designed to wear you down rather than protect you.
This is not how a serious international marketplace should operate.
Beware of fraud at Kinguin!

A code is delivered relatively quickly.
I tried to redeem the code immediately.
Correct currency and correct account.
The code had already been used.
Other retailers offer a replacement code or refund.
Not so with ‘Kinguin’, despite multiple escalations!!!
At ‘Kinguin’, you are then sent to Steam Support,
which is supposed to ask a customer who has never purchased a code there
when the code was redeemed.
Steam says that you have to contact the retailer ‘Kinguin’.
Which I did. The result was that I was sent back to
Steam with a task that I cannot fulfil.
If you were to receive a key code card,
you would have to get it first.
Which was not the case for me.
Just like in a supermarket, you only get a code on the portal.
Even there, Steam says that you should take the proof of purchase back to
the shop where you bought it. So ‘Kinguin’.
‘Kinguin’ is playing dead and not responding appropriately.
The customer is cheated out of their money and now has to deal with
PayPal and open a case there.
So clearly terrible support.
Perhaps it was simply an employee enriching themselves,
who ended up using the code for themselves?
You think it worked for you? Sure, it worked for me 9/10 times,
but not the 10th time, and the cheaper prices
of the other 9 transactions are then no longer
so cheap.
My opinion on Kinguin => Stay away!
They've lost control and
are cheating you out of your money.
My dear brother, you are truly wonderful, and I say this with complete confidence, but I have a problem. Please reply and help me solve this problem.
My dear brother, your website is truly wonderful and excellent. The transaction is completely trustworthy and secure, and I am very grateful. I am Abu Kinan, and I have made many purchases from you. The experience was more than excellent, but unfortunately, I encountered a problem, which I hope is minor. The problem is that the Visa payment option has disappeared, and membership renewal is now only available through PayPal. It used to be Visa, but now it's difficult.I want a solution like before, when I could buy products easily. Please find me a quick solution; I want to buy.

customer service is excellent
customer service is excellent. i've been using kinguin for years and they've always been great. the only complaint i have is the service fee. it's getting too high.
be very careful
i bought from them thinking i was getting a key, no apparently its an account. And now i see they have reworded the advert. i guess i was scammed good and proper. This is a buyer beware, good luck they wont catch me again
Never again. Horse.
Never again. That's all I will say. Those 5 star reviews are bumps from paid idiots. A very poor process, very sneakily advertised too because they do not ACTUALLY explain how it works at all - only until they get your hard earned.
For anyone reading - do your research, make you are buying the whole game DL off a trusted dealer and not just a KEY - if you see KEY or RESALE together, run...run a mile and go official. For the sake of £/$5 its not worth it.

Pretty sure this company review bombed…
Pretty sure this company review bombed themselves with 5 stars. My experience with them was absolutely terrible. First they sold me two invalid keys, and when I reached out about them, they mentioned they could not offer a refund. After pushing back and forth for 30 MESSAGES and A MONTH OF MY TIME, they finally offered me a 50¢ refund. My two keys were $3! Ultimately they said they could do $1 and I took it. Overall terrible experience nonetheless.
Charged— No Key Delivered, Still “Processing”
I paid with Bitcoin and the transaction was fully confirmed on the blockchain. But after 15 minutes Their site cancelled my order!!!— even though the payment is clearly completed and validated on the block explorer.
Key delivery was advertised as instant, but I’m still waiting and have been fully charged. No support response. If you're thinking of buying, beware — you might pay and get nothing in return.

Fine
Been using kinguin for about a few months now. I made about 5-10 purchases and i haven’t had a single problem. But some packs are really a “scam” like the fortnite mystery packs or mystery key games.
Excellent.
Excellent.
Price are incredible, and if you have a problem and need reimburse, all good.
I use the website for many years, it has always been perfect.
I recommand.
Terrible Customer Service and Unethical Practices
This company is an absolute scam! I purchased a Steam key from them, only to find out it was already redeemed. When I reported the issue, they demanded sensitive information from my Steam account, including screenshots that could compromise my account's security. This is completely unacceptable and feels like an attempt to dodge responsibility rather than resolve the problem.
Why should I risk my account being hacked because they sold me a faulty product? They refused to refund my money or provide a replacement key unless I met their invasive demands. This is outright theft and disrespectful to their customers.
Save yourself the frustration and avoid this company at all costs. Their business practices are shady, and they do not care about their customers. If they don’t resolve my issue soon, I will escalate this matter legally and ensure others know about their unethical behavior.
Been using them for years
Been using them for years, not very often, but never had an issue. All keys worked, no duplications. No issues.

I've been with an open incident for 14 days about a product and they just make excuses (if I send photos, if I put it in English, if they are investigating it) but I still have no product and no money. I'm going to write it in English as well so that they don't make any more excuses for me.
